Try living on unemployment checks.
One real problem in employment is the new Industrial Revolution. The number of manufacturing workers needed continues to drop even as increased productivity helps to stave off inflation. But the profits from such industrial activities go mostly to the owners - labor is not present in the room. And the capital is perfectly mobile as the labor is not. Since it's an ongoing process, working lifetimes are being shortened while lifespans increase. We take for granted that there will be large net benefits to this industrial revolution as there was for the first one in the 1800's. And there probably will be. But the initial human cost and social changes the first time were huge and today would destabilize the society and economy.
In the US we have the additional problem of the Southeastern Culture Area and its diaspora, still left over from an ugly corner of our history and never fixed or Reconstructed. Today it's giving us an increasingly toxic politics and we are threatened with becoming a failing Banana Republic. It's a replay of the US Civil War in some ways.
So real problems that require a some political solutions are not on the table and won't be any time soon. Because of our Founding Flaw - the infamous US Pay-To-Play political system - our economy and society are distorted and it gets progressively worse. Crony Capitalism, a Banana Republic, is an historic path to outright failure and undevelopment. The US cannot be an exception.
IMO, your complaint fits a small number of people and can be fixed to reduce it to a very low level. There are indeed too many people and large corporations / organizations gaming government funds and have been for many years. It's not just individuals, where do you think much of the last Iraq War money went? Years ago government money was used to buy off social unrest - but all it bought was time. Nothing really was done with the time - in education for instance.
If they have any sense it should be just a Linux release customized for the character sets, security, and so on. Whatever they do, their government will have a back door, of course. Remember, China made itself a Windows source site for Microsoft to be allowed to do business there. Is that still in effect?
They could surprise everyone and do all that to a QNX release if they could buy a source license. Such a project from scratch is a very large undertaking that takes years to get right especially running modern complex hardware. Of course the original Windows was a real tech wreck, way below state of the art, and Microsoft used IBM's original endorsement and being better at business and The Art of War to prevail.
That's OK. The history books will remember her favorably for doing her job in spite of being the target of another phony "scandal". What the Republicans are doing is getting rid of the last vestiges of regulation of money in politics. They are enabling channels to dump money into the Tea Party and buy it as one benefit to them.
I remind you that one effect of the US Banana Republic they are trying to buy is poverty.
And so eliminate the last vestige of regulating money in politics by chasing the cops out of town?
You guys are making Lerner an American hero.
I don't know the facts and you don't either. Would you join a lynch mob?
Off to a visible trial.
Can you still recognize someone 21 feet away?
ps - One analysis claims that is is hard in Missouri to successfully prosecute any one, police officer or civilian, for shooting someone who can be portrayed as an assailant. Chances are a trial is necessary to disclose what happened and air out Ferguson, but the outcome is unlikely to make anyone satisfied. The law must be seen to be adhered to for all even if it's less than reasonable and needs change.
Reforms will likely result, however, and the isolation and independence of local police needs to be addressed to prevent greed or pathology or racism from prevailing. With the diverse population we have, timely, predictable, and impartial justice that all can more or less trust is a bedrock necessity and precondition to continue.
Confederates want some sort of opposite to that and can lead us only off a cliff. Pick up your Stars and Bars and disappear......
CNN claims that the broken eye socket is an invention from Fox. There are any number of accounts of this, most contradictory. Nothing like a very visible trial to try to dig out events. Neither the officer nor Brown are likely to prove Santa's elves. And Ferguson itself is apparently going to look very bad - it's about time this kind of place was discovered and rooted out if this is really the USA. Let the system do its work and see if it does. Give it a rest - it's not as though you or I have a real clue...
We know. The Right wants US boots on the ground from Libya to Afghanistan. The General's judgement is that ISIS must be attacked in Syria. Why don't you volunteer?
Will ll that include the earlier, smaller, operation by many of the same people in the Bush II administration? I do blame Obama for not doing more housecleaning on assuming office. His predecessor did and bloated out government ranks with substandard door knockers. The current hires aren't much better, but it has always sounded like those jobs are impossible dead ends for people in law enforcement. We have the border that has been bought in Washington over the decades and need basic fixes.
There is no law to you. Just mobs. If Brown attacked the officer as described then at the end of the trial the officer will be praised and the legitimacy of protesting Brown's death undercut. The Governor didn't say "hang him" he said justice would be done. That tends to cool things out.
Brown's prior conduct won't affect his trial much for this last incident. Praising the officer as an executioner helps nothing but your rep down at the neighborhood bar. Juries tend to be conscientious, believe it or not. You need the same advice as the demonstrators - let the legal system do its work. Keep the proceedings visible. It sounds like Ferguson needs reforms all around, but that won't decide the issue.
Give it a rest. You won't get political brownie points out of it. A Governor of either party would likely do the same things. Your apparent need for violence would mean the young guys out making war while you watch it all on TV from your bar stool.
I think you are referring to the President's early trip effectively apologizing for George Bush and informing governments that the more normal and responsible USA was back. Bush II had alienated and frightened the world and incited and encouraged terrorists and "jihadies" everywhere.
Take your Stars and Bars with you.
Of course I've been saying the complete opposite - let the legal system do its work but keep an eye on it, keep it visible.
Of course you accuse me of the exact opposite - that's Confederate politics.
There's a difference between demonstrators and looters. No one has any use for looters and vandals. Deal with it.
Don't forget to mention most of the Red States in the Southeast on welfare from Texas and the Blue States. And don't forget the phenomenal amounts dumped into corporate welfare and crony capitalism. After all, that's the reason US medical expenses are far and away the world's highest though the US is around #50 in life expectancy (ref - CIA World Factbook online).
Republicans want to fix high US medical expenses by cutting US life expectancy. That means you, right?
Be careful of what you wish for......
Benghazi has gone away and Lois Lerner is a hero. Both those fake "scandals" are exactly the sort of thing you are complaining about in reference to Perry. I remember well the flood of "charges" and accusations against Clinton, all of which vanished after he left office. This time the Republicans have been so odious that the person of Obama may be at risk for years to come, perish the thought. They have raised a mob they can't control.
I would prefer none of that sort of thing including directed at Perry if that is what has happened. But your righteousness is very misplaced considering that you guys make a way of life out of endlessly accusing President Obama of everything your sick imaginations can dream up.
You are not going to heaven on a rocket any time soon. In fact, if you really are a believer, you should be on your knees in fear and contrition.
This President restored some respectability and respect for the US that his predecessor threw away. And remember, he has to use shrewdness and economy of resources as his predecessor deliberately broke Washington financially.
Obama is also probably the reason you are not sleeping in drainage culverts and mining restaurant garbage cans.
You forgot the part about the horns, tail, and sulpher dioxide fumes everywhere..... Were you ever kidnapped by a flying saucer?
