I held NYCB since it was only NYC. Divy has always been a dollar. Re invested most, played some options and this past July decided to move on. With her current acquisition, Astoria Financial, and more dilution coming up as announced I am glad I sold. Nothing new for NYCB and she will survive but I have been moving to Monthly Dividend stocks. NYCB gets back to 12.70 then I will buy.
On 1 or 2 blocks? High commission on a trade that small and do you expect JE will be called out or expecting bad earnings to bring it down. Also what price did you pay? If called out will it be a profit?
Depends on a # of variables. Current contract 6.50 on 10/30/15. For several blocks I purchased at 6.50. Need 7.50 to get called out. Hope close is under on 10/30. If not a small profit to invest elsewhere. Extra 900 so far this year. Not bad for no dividends.
Was nice when she paid a dividend. Today, when market is right, I still sell Covered Calls. A little income is better than none. It's future? Don't ask me.
I have held PHK since 2011. Selling for profit once and buying back in at discount. All dividends have been re invested. Today I am $585 away from pure profit from monthly dividends. PHK is a small part of my portfolio.

Years back I owned CHTR (Charter Communications.) It was going through a growth period just like FTR. When she announced a reverse stock split I dumped it. MISTAKE. Today she is worth 182.00 a share. 800x more than my original purchase price. Is there a lesson to be learned?
Did not waste time. After announcement of cut yesterday put in sell on all NCZ with exception to shares in my IRA. Looking at 5yr chrt. the price is all downhill but divy was safe til now.
