  • for a larger commercial builder here. we did a service call the other day for a very cordial customer, who's part of the bidding process for that company and he passed the information along....

  • i've only read 3 or 4 books in my life and they included:
"Ford....the Men and the Machine", by Robert Lacey and
"The Fords", by Peter Collier and David Horowitz.
Henry did admire hitler at first, but that changed later in life. He certainly didn't finance hitler's death machine or have anything to do with the murdering of 6 million Jewish people. He was 100% behind the war effort.
He didn't give credit to Edsel and didn't treat him like the good Son that he was, which probably contributed to Edsel's stomach problems and death....

    You bought:
    cnqr at 35 cents
    eqix at 55 cents
    tso at 3 bucks
os (oregon steel) at 5 bucks
    inap at 20 cents
    oxy at 16 bucks
etc, etc, etc, IF you weren't addicted to trading, which is seldom a good thing.

Ted Cruz or Scott Walker. Prez or running mate would be nice and put common sense back in the white house. The occupants there mention GOD now and then, but talk is cheap when there's no substance behind it. Constant fighting is not good for America or the World....

    mandan14shooter mandan14shooter Apr 7, 2015 12:47 PM Flag i've owned.
    1. 51 Merc Convertible for 80 bucks. Kind of a beater but it ran good and the hydraulic top would go with a little help.
    2. 50 Merc 2-dr for 125 bucks (a BEAUTIFUL car with a rebuilt V8).
    3. 35 Ford 2-dr. sedan, with a 56 Buick nailhead engine for 600 bucks (a SCREAMER). i tore out about 5 trannys before i learned to race from a rolling start.
    4. 29 Model A 2-dr. sedan for 125 bucks.
    5. 62 Ford 2-dr. light blue, stock 406 4-speed, tri-power MONSTER, radio delete car, for 2200 bucks. My Mom borrowed me the money and i thank GOD i didn't kill myself with that car. i had it a couple months, blew a valve at 130 mph and traded it to UNKL Les for his 54 Olds. Brother Brucie put a 292 engine in it and traded the labor for the 406 engine. He put it back together and in his 57 Ford Convertible, a car he owned for 40 years before he died in 1999.

    Also a few Chevy's:
    1. 56 2-dr. post, white/blue with a 265 + stick tranny. Traded UNKL Les's nice 54 Olds 2-dr. hardtop for it.
    2. 55 2-dr. post, white with same for 150 bucks and it was a nice car. It had a 301 modified Chev engine with tri-power and 3-speed on the floor. Even with towing the car, the engine wouldn't turn over, so i called Brother Brucie at work for help. He to pull the spark plugs and the water shot out of one cylinder. An easy fix with one head gasket. Cars in North Dakota were cheap back then.
i had all those before i graduated from High School....GOOD TIMES were had by all back there.
CARS, GIRLS, SPORTS and BLACK LABEL BEER were the main subjects on every boys mind back then.
    Some things never change....

There seldom goes a week by that we don't get complaints about that company. They don't seem to understand that GREED KILLS THE SOUL. When you rip off your neighbor, you are ripping off GOD and that will come back to haunt you every time.
They seem to have a lot of good reviews and are probably paying Yelp, etc to make that possible.

A couple years ago, a young 20 year old beautiful, Black girl called for help. She just bought her first condo and was thrilled to death about it. A month earlier, she had RIP-OFF X company over to change out her 2 torsion springs and the guy left with a 600 dollar check for 30 minutes of work. He didn't tune up the door at all, so the cables came off and left her in a bind again. i don't know how the door worked for a month, because the vertical tracks were way off. The door was a mess. It took awhile to get it fixed and she was so happy, she gave me a kiss, a hug and told me to come down to the shop where she works for a free haircut. i charged her 50 bucks for a service call and on the way home, i felt guilty about that.

Last week, i drove 30 miles up north to do a torsion spring change. RIP-OFF X was up there a day earlier and as usual, filled out a long invoice listing all the parts the door needed. The door was a lightly-insulated 16x7 steel door and mr. rip gave the customer a 900 dollar estimate. The owner worked in security, was about 6'5'' tall and about 250 lbs. and not a guy to try and rip off. He told rip that he wasn't interested and told him to leave. rip went out to his truck, came back in and said he could do the springs only for 350 bucks. The owner again told him to leave. rip told him that "his boss would get mad if he gave him a lower price". i wonder what the boss said, when he returned from a 60 mile trip with no check.
i could on and on here about rip, but you get the point. This co. was getting many good ratings and very few bad ones and that tells you the veracity of reviews....

  • i've had a garage door company for 19 years in Edmonds, Wa. and brought my Son in from Boeing 10 years ago. We've done over 9600 jobs and have NEVER overcharged a customer. Angie calls me about 10 times a year and Yelp about 4 times a year, but i've never given them any money. i do appreciate their help though. Last year i cancelled advertising in 3 phone books at a savings of 8400 bucks a year and haven't seen much of a decrease in business. i work out of my house and have never had employees, so expenses are kept to a minimum and that's why our prices are MUCH LOWER than the competition. 145 bucks + tax to install 2 new torsion springs, while other companies are charging anywhere from 200-600 bucks for the same thing. We do get bad reviews on occasion from unhappy or disturbed customers. i seldom look at reviews, but one guy recently said i drove his neighbor to tears after we did a good job on her door. That was a weird one.
The BBB has an A plus rating on our company, but we are not accredited by that company. i did give them 500 bucks one year but that was a mistake that i never repeated and probably why we're not accredited. We keep our expenses low to pass that on to the consumer. my Son and i are a lot alike and have never been into money that much. This msg. is more about RIP-OFF X company....

"I beheld every scene distinctly portrayed, from the kiss of Judas to the last words of JESUS on the Cross and I saw in this single vision all that I see in my meditations on the Passion. The treason of Judas, the flight of the disciples, the insults which were offered our Lord before Annas and Caiphas, Peter's denial, the tribunal of Pilate, Herod's mockery, the scourging and crowning with thorns, the condemnation to death, the carrying of the cross, the linen cloth presented by Veronica, the crucifixion, the insults of the Pharisees, the sorrows of Mary and of John, the wound of the lance in his side after death. In one word, every part of the Passion was shown to Him in the minutest detail. He accepted all voluntarily, submitting to everything for the love of man. He also saw and felt the sufferings endured at that moment by His Mother, whose interior union with His agony was so entire that she had fainted in the arms of her two friends."

From the book, "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord JESUS CHRIST", by Anne Catherine Emmerich.

If you're caught red handed in a hotel room, selling a large bag of cocaine to undercover cops with the camera recording it, you are guilty. JD must have had one heck of a lawyer to get out of that mess. He should have stayed with GM and he might of even come up with a nicer GTO. The Delorean car was definitely not worth 25K, but a lot of suckers bought one....

Coke & Pepsi....that stuff will rot your eyeballs out.
A much better choice is Emergen-C. A thousand mg. of Vitamin C in a large glass of water. O Yea. my left knee was hurting and i went back drinking it. A few days later the pain was gone. Believe it or not.
    AT&T....never used them.
Apple....never bought any product they made and never will. i took my watch off and threw it out of my Econoline van the day i drove out the gate of Treasure Island and said goodbye to the Marine Corps. Semper Fi. i never wore another watch.
Microsoft....a neighbor over on the East Side of Lake Washington. i've never bought a product of theirs, but the wife bought a few. What the heck is a bing??
Starbucks....i bought a cup of their coffee about 15 years ago and never went back. It's too strong and has an ugly taste.
Connecticut....never been east of Chicago. In 1959, my mom went to a hairdressers convention and took me to see the White Sox play Boston. Ted Williams hit a homer and that was worth the trip. Where in the heck is connecticut.
GOOGLE?? i LOVE it and use their maps 6 days a week and the hordes of info they have is amazing. Take their name off your list. What the heck is a bing??
