  • That's not going to change, but our country needs COAL. Brother Brucie drove a white 57 Ford Convertible for 40 years before he died in 99. He also was the Yardmaster in Sheridan and coal trains were everywhere. He heated his house with coal. Vote the bums out of d.c. and let this country turn back to GOD and hard work. That's the ticket we all need....

Mr. M was sitting at the table, along with the other auto execs, asking for a bailout. So many people out there think that Ford didn't need any financial help at that time, which is hogwash. 24 Billion plus interest?? That's about as ugly as you can get....

i bought the Wife a 2000 Grand Cherokee for 5 grand a few years ago with 105k miles on it. It has the 4.7 V8, 2 & 4 wheel drive and now it has about 185k miles on it and still runs strong. It's outstanding in the snow, very dependable and it's probably the best rig i've ever owned. Buy one today and stay happy....

It would be interesting to know, on the average how many free throws the home team takes and how many the visiting team takes?? i would guestimate that the home team is on the line a lot more....

These Playoff refs are supposed to be the cream of the crop. Where were they when Curry catches the ball on the run, doesn't dribble and takes 4 STEPS for a layup. Play after play, they look like they haven't a clue. They are very good at calling a foul, when there is no contact whatsoever. If Mendy Rudolph was watching in the stands, he would be crying....

Mr. Mulally was an Airplane guy and Mark is a "Car Guy". i don't own a suit, but Mark is a spiffy dresser, while Mulally must have picked his up at Goodwill and that might have something to do with Boeing passing on him. You have to dress the part to be a CEO. As far as Ford not having to take any Gov't money, they swung a deal for a 20+ million (??) dollar private loan. Before that, Mr. M was begging at the table like the rest of them....

Phil came to Mandan one time to play the Braves. He was the center and i don't remember who won the game, but THANKS PHIL FOR J.R!! You can't deny that Phil has a great basketball mind, but when you get older, the brain gets a little cloudy. Sometimes you can't remember what day it is, or remember what sock goes on your left foot, or sometimes you can't remember that you don't trade away GOOD 3-Point Shooters. Last year i was a Spurs fan and this year i'm a wishing the CAVS go all the way and i'm a hoping that Phil recovers that other sock....

Sometimes it's in and sometimes it's out. Take a look at the World and you'll see that not enough Souls are doing it these days, but if you take the " L" out and make the effort, you will reap the rewards in the end. my humble opinion of course....

i never heard of a "Yellowbird" before, but it's a decent, bone stock and running, driving, "T" Top car with a decent interior and in need of only a couple small patch panels. The rockers and undercarriage are very nice. The Lady and her husband went down to the Pontiac dealer and each of them bought a new Firebird. She bought the Yellowbird and her husband drove away in a black one. She drove hers for 58k miles and parked it next to her house, with a tarp over it. A landscaper was working next door and took it home for 2200 bucks. A few days later, he had it running nice, but ran out of cash and trailered it up from Puyallup and parked it in my driveway for 2500 bucks and a few bucks for gas. Some good deals in stocks, cars, homes and other necessities are still out there if you shake the bushes....

He didn't care much for ironing his uniform or polishing his brass, so he'd look a mess most of the time. The Major wanted him gone in the worst way. Our legal office was in the back room of an older wood building. Five days a week, i'd walk in the front door and walk by the Major's office, Lt, Colonel's office and The Colonel's office ( a very KOOL guy).
Wilbur walked in our door a drenched mess. The Major was on the front porch, saluting the flag as it was hoisted up the pole. Wilbur was in front of him and stepped up on the porch to get out of the hard rain. The Major said he would write him up for moving, instead of standing at attention. He was a little shaken, so i typed up a note, stating that Wilbur wanted Lt. Golub as his counsel. Navy Lt. Golub had never lost a case. Wilbur handed the note to the Major and never heard another word about it. In fact, the Major never bothered him again. Wilbur moved up to Edmonds, Wa. and stayed with us a few months. He found a nice girl, got married, had a few kids and lives in Seattle. i haven't seen or talked to him in 10 years, but if he needs another note or a gallon of wine, i'm the guy to call....

  • that I spent in grade school watching the clock, waiting for recess or lunch or to go home.
Waiting for anything but school. My teachers could easily have ridden with Jesse James for all time they stole from me." richard brautigan

Apparently he never had a Teacher like Sister Marmian. She taught every subject to 35 of us 8th graders and was also the Principal of the school. What a Dear Lady.

i was stationed on Treasure Island for 15 months in 72 & 73 in the Marine Corps in their small, four person legal office. On weekends, along with two or three other jarheads, hopped in my 64 Econoline van and took off for parts unknown. Sometimes, we would take the North route and cruze through Golden Gate Park and then go over The Bridge to Sousalito and out to Bolinas . we'd pick up a gallon of wine and spend the afternoon lying on the the small beach.
Wilbur (a nickname i gave him) was a terrible Marine, but was a very smart guy and avid reader. He went in the Corps a private and came out a private. mr. brautigan had a small house in the middle of that small town and Wilbur wanted to meet him, so we knocked on his door one Saturday afternoon, but no one was home.
richard died in that house and his body wasn't discovered for a month or so. A couple of his books, with all the "f" words stunk pretty bad also. He should of had a Sister Marmian to give him a few lessons....
