and we install someone who knows a little bit about business, there's no reason why the Market can't go higher. That poor guy sitting in the drivers seat right now has been holding his foot on the brakes and installing road blocks way too long. We'll still have to look at his mug now and then, but he won't be able to do any more damage. The idiots in dc instructed all the banks to loosen credit to those that couldn't afford loans and then turns around and fines the banks for listening to their idiotic plea. Get all the bums out of there....PLEASE....

  • They won it all today. i've been driving old 77,78 & 79 Ford trucks with the 460, C6, Pennzoil combo for over 25 years and have never had an oil related problem. Keep on truckin....

"We are indeed going through a great trial, a fiery trial. In the very responsible position in which I happened to be placed, being a humble instrument in the hands of our a Heavenly Father, as I am, and as we all are, to work out His great purposes. I have desired that all my works and acts may be according to His will, and that it might be so, I have sought His aid. The ways of God are mysterious and profound beyond all comprehension. Who by searching can find Him out? God only knows the issue of this business. He has destroyed nations from the map of history for their sins. Nevertheless, my hopes prevail generally above my fears for our Republic. The times are dark, the spirits of ruin are abroad in all their power and the mercy of God alone can save us".

the primary author of the Declaration of Independence and was America's third President. He was a noted author, educator, architect and scientist. He founded the University of Virginia. In his Notes on the State of Virginia, he made this statement:
"GOD who gave us life gave us liberty and can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of GOD? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that GOD is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever".

In a letter dated March 23, 1801, Jefferson wrote:
"The Christian Religion, when divested of the rags in which they (the clergy) have enveloped it and brought to the original purity and simplicity of its Benevolent Institutor, is a religion of all others most friendly to liberty, science and the freest expansion of the human mind.

On April 23, 1803, Jefferson wrote this to Dr. Benjamin Rush (also a signer of the Declaration of Independence):
"My vies are the result of a life of inquiry and reflection and very different from the anti-Christian system imputed to me by those who KNOW NOTHING OF MY OPINIONS. To the corruptions of Christianity, I am indeed apposed, but not to the genuine precepts of JESUS himself. I am a Christian in the only sense in which He wished anyone to be; sincerely attached to his doctrines in preference to all others".

Jefferson was obviously not a fan of organized religion and he stepped in a few potholes along the way, like all of us, but he was a BELIEVER. Whether that was enough to attain the ultimate reward remains to be seen. The true presence, The BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST in Holy Communion, is there for anyone to receive, if the effort is made. Make the effort....

make your day. i'm not bragging, but a have a hugh wine cellar filled with 26 bottles of Beringer White Zinfandel. The label on the bottle says that it's "America's Favorite White Zinfandel" , although it looks more rosy than white. Red is an okay color, but rosy is much better, in my humble opinion. mr. wonderful, the shark guy, likes thousand dollar bottles of wine. i could buy 166.7 bottles of my rosy's for that price. That many would last the average guy or gal at least a month. "Fruity and Refreshing" and i agree....

They're starting these kids early these days, so be thankful they have a job. i think i didn't start till i was 9 or 10 delivering 40 LARGE Sunday Minneapolis Tribune papers for 40 cents a paper. i pulled a wagon through the snow and hauled in 4 cents a paper, racking up a buck-sixty a week. Then i had to go back and collect. Some customers would hide behind the sofa, so i had go back a couple of times. One customer always paid me 2 bucks in advance, which i usually spent the same day playing Snooker pool and pinball machines. CHRISTmas was special as half the customers left a nickle or dime, or a couple cookies for a tip. LIFE is GREAT, so enjoy it and don't complain....

A few months ago, i tagged along with the wife to Costco and browsed through the jewelry cases. 40 years ago, we met in the KOOLEST tavern in Seattle called the KOSMOS Tavern. It was located just south of the Ballard Bridge in an old house, up on the east side of the hill. Three levels, with a pool table on the lower and 2nd level and another step or two to the bar. There was a tall stack of records on the bar and for 25 cents, you could pick one side of any of the albums. The 3rd level had a nice cozy room with a couch or two and a dozen or so tables. my buddy Carlos and i were sitting over by the window, when two beautiful creatures walked up and sat down ten feet away. Only four of us in the room. One was a gorgeous redhead, wearing a fuzzy green top with a bare midriff , tight jeans and clogs. YIKES!!!! i finally got up enough nerve to go over and talk to her and three months later, we were married. The bar closed a few months later and i went back to see if i could buy the 4x8 ft. KOSMOS sign out in front. The owner told me to bring in a new 4x8 sheet of plywood and a day later i hung it up in my garage. A very cool sign.
Back at Costco, there was a nice ring with a few shiny attachments for 600 bucks. Even though she works at a hospital in Seattle as an RT, she doesn't like to spend money. She spends on crafts and sewing, but not much. i told her she had to have that ring or another one more expensive. Even after 40 years, i still thank
    GOD for my SWEETHEART....

i use it 600+ times a year before going out on a job. The good printed map books are long gone and the one or two still out there have print so small that you need a magnifying glass to read it. Thanks again....a real time saver....

A baby blue 61 Pontiac 2-dr. hardtop. A 389 with one of best, or the best, automatic trans on the market with the nicest interiors on the market. That one would be easy to find room for in the garage, but that is a rare beast these days....

GM would be happy campers with a 50 dollar stock at the end of 15 and it might just happen. Buying a low mileage two or three year old car/SUV/truck is a better choice, but people seem to love that new car smell....

Sniper fire....Military boots go through a lot of pain to learn to shoot that rifle. Hours of holding positions in order to hit that target 500 yards away. i went in the Marine Corps in 71 and when they put that M14 in your hands, you either wet your pants or went to work. i never shot a gun before. At the rifle range, i think we had targets from 200-500 yards. 50 rounds for a maximum of 250 points. You had to hit 220 points to grab that Expert Badge and that's what we all lusted for. 5 points for a BULLSEYE. i think at 300 yards we had to get off 10 rounds in one minute from the prone position. i shot over 220, two or three times that week, but on qualification day, i shot a 219. BUMMER!!
A year later, from my permanent duty station at Treasure Island, San Francisco and working in a small 3 man, 1 woman legal office on base, i had another chance. Three of us hopped in Larry's 67 GTO and drove up north to another rifle range. The Marine Captain there tried to treat us like boots, but we pretty much laughed that off. They had the old M1 rifles there and it was a little more difficult to get used to, but it had a heavier barrel, which i think was more accurate at long range. i LOVED that rifle. We spent a week getting the right dope on our rifles and the Captain said we could qualify thursday and leave early if we signed up. We wanted to go to a ZZTOP concert at Winterland Friday night, so we signed. i shot a killer round of 44 bulls eyes and 6 fours for a total of 244 points (NO SCOPE), which broke the range record easily. Later, the Captain said i didn't sign that paper and had to qualify the next day again. YIKES!! i knew he was going to get back at one of us somehow. My shooting coach went crazy and i had to calm him down. The next day i think i shot a 238 and broke the range record again. Two years in the Marine Corps was one of the most enjoyable times of my Life....Thank GOD for that EXPERT MEDAL.
