FORD and others should get around to building trucks that you can work out of, instead of the 60k dollar "Look at Me" variety. You need a ladder to work out of those beasts....

The idea that Nike would pay any athlete anywhere close to that kind of money for endorsements is absolutely NUTS!! They've got to cut WAY, WAY BACK ON ENDORSEMENTS and put that money to better use or in the bank. Who really cares what kind of shoes Rory wears, or if your underwear has a tag on it?? Put the advertising world out of business and do us all a favor. The word "NIKE" is enough....

A BEAUTIFUL, stock 40 Ford Convertible went through the Mecum auction recently and i think the highest bid was in the mid 30's and it didn't sell. The Muscle Cars are taking over, because they're so much fun to drive and even us old farts are jumping on the bandwagon. i had a black 69 Mach I, M-code, 351 Windsor, 4-speed car for 20 years and sold it after picking up a black, 455 76 Trans Am. i bought my son a 69 Mustang, S-code, 390 4-speed car for his high school graduation and he still has it. 69 Camaro's are hot these days, but the Camaro prices have gone through the roof. 79 and older Pontiac Trans Am's are cheaper and are a much better driving car than the old Camaro's. i grew tired of driving 4-speeds and picked up a blue 78 Trans Am needing work (1400 bucks) and a SWEET, white 77 Trans Am with a built 400, shaker hood, beautiful black interior & dash for 5700 bucks and it's a BLAST to drive. They handle so much better than the old Ford, Mopar or other variety The Trans Am's are coming up in price, but they are the ones to drive on that Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The windows rolled down on a sunny day, the wind in your hair (if you have any left) and the tunes on the killer CD player. Smell those horses out in the country. That will recharge your batteries for the next work week. Old farts aren't dead yet....

in Sheridan for quite a few years. He said that he was living on a farm when he was six years old and a neighbor drove up in a Ford coupe. From that day on he became a car guy and worked in a body shop, before going to work at the Roundhouse in Mandan. He also worked part time at the Chrysler Dealership as a body man and still found time to restore his beloved 31 Buick coupe and drove it out here a couple of times. He bought a white 57 Ford Convertible in 59 and drove it for 40 years, until he died in 99 of a brain tumor. He was close to retirement and wanted me to pick up a few muscle cars that needed restoration and would keep him busy for a few years. i picked up a few out here north of Seattle. Prices were a little more reasonable back then.
69 yellow roadrunner, hp 440, 4-speed car for 3200 bucks.
67 Mustang fastback for 1200 bucks.
    69 Mustang fastback for 2500 bucks. S-code 390, 4-speed car.
64 Chev convert for 2500 bucks.
He would come out every couple of months and haul one back to Sheridan on his trailer. Unfortunately, he died shortly before retirement.
GOD only made one Brucie and that one NEVER missed Sunday Mass. He was a good pal...

The first thing Ron and i did was throw out the 10 lap rule in favor of the 15 or whatever we wanted lap rule. Nine of the ten karts had a restrictor plate between the carb and the block, but they still ran pretty strong. we took the plate off the 10th kart and only special customers and friends would ride the Super Kart.
Mr. Indy would pull up every wednesday and sometimes Saturday night around 8 pm in his beautiful green 56 Chev 2-dr post. His wife sat next to him and they were probably in their 50's at the time. He was a mechanic at the Chevrolet Dealership in Mandan. His wife would sit patiently, while he got his weekly racing fix. He was a nice guy and a great racer, so we always pulled out the Super Kart for him. We would limit the other karts to two or three, so they wouldn't get in his way. The ultimate racer, he would scream down high on the straits and swoop down on the corners, coming out high again, seldom taking his foot off the gas. Never a hair out of place. He would lap the other karts every 3 or 4 laps. He looked like he was sitting in his strat-0-lounger in his living room watching Ward Bond on Wagon Train. We would let him run for 20 or 30 minutes or until he got tired. The looky-loos in the parking lot would run to get tickets, thinking they were going to ride the Super Kart, but only a few ever did....

Joe and Bob Woodmansee owned a very successful office machine store in Bismarck. They were an unlikely duo to open a Go-Kart Track. Bob was the stern businessman and Joe was the happy-go-lucky other half. The 2nd summer had them build a beautiful 5" thick oval track about a block long and we bolted three tires together, painted them a bright yellow and circled the concrete track with them. It was a far cry from the dirt and hay bale track the 1st year. Bob would show up every Sunday in his khaki shorts and cap. He was the designated flagman and a welcome sight with 4 or 500 customers on the weekend at 50 cents a ride. He would stand out there counting off 10 laps on his fingers behind his back. He NEVER let anyone go more than 10 laps. A few Sundays later, the novelty wore off and he never came back. Joe would show up every friday with paychecks (50 cents an hour) and share a couple Black Label beers and give us one in the boxcar at the west end of the track. He was a good Joe. They still needed someone over 21 for insurance purposes, so they hired Mr. Sleepy. He worked another job on graveyard, so spent his time sleeping in the back seat of his 50 Dodge 4-dr. He would come out every couple of hours, fill the gas tanks on the karts and go back to sleep. my older Brother Gare went on to a higher paying job delivering grease rags to gas stations, so i hired my best buddy Ron and the two of us snot nosed 15 year old kids ran the track the rest of the summer. i needed a car and was lucky enough to pick up a decent blue 51 Merc Convert for 80 bucks to drive us out to the track....

  • The last 6 plus years have a nightmare for our once GREAT COUNTRY.

A House divided will fall, so it would be nice if all the Republican candidates would stop trashing each other and get to work. Mr. Trump for Prez and Walker or Cruz for Vice Prez. That could be the winning ticket.
What a different country this would have been with MITT in White House imho....

We get over 20 calls a year with that lead-off line and my wife answered one last week from a lady.
Does your door start to come down at all?
Does your door have photo eyes down low on each side of the door?
    I don't know, what's a photo eye?
They're safety eyes mounted down low on the track or on the wall and they have to be pointed at each other for the door to come down. They should have a small light on one or both of them. That light should be a solid light and not blinking.Go out and see if one of them has been moved around and if it has, just line it back up with the other one.
Okay, i'll give you a call back.
She called back a few minutes later and thanked her for her help and that she probably bumped it taking out the garbage can. She also saved a 65 dollar service call or saved 3 or 400 bucks from some other #!!%$#**....

The black Bostitch BCT10X that use both the narrow crown and round crown staples. They load from the bottom and you can use small length sections with no problem. We've tried 3 or 4 other brands and a few months later, they were in the garbage. HD doesn't stock it, but Lowe's does....

When Acrylic Enamel auto paint first came out, SW paint was the closest you could get to a factory paint job. Acrylic Enamel is the hardest paint to shoot and left no room for error, imho. Then Dupont came out with Imron and PPG came out with Deltron and that was the name of that game. Those two paints took over and were much easier to use and they looked great....

No one can rest on any laurels....

  • 1. United Health Group....51.1%
    2. Nike....47.5%
    3. Home Depot....46.7%
    4. Disney....41.6%
    5. Apple....37.6%

    The bottom 5....
    26. Intel....-8.7%....i remember when this stock was over 100 bucks. It definitely shouldn't be down here.
    27. Amer. Express....-15.3%
    28. Exxon Mobil....-17.4%
    29. Cat....-21.6%. Another GREAT company that shouldn't be down here.
    30. Chevron....-24.5%....Arco is the killer company around here and always 20-30 cents cheaper than cvx.
    Arco ROCKS....Chevron knocks....

my favorite 5 or more stocks....
Eqix....i think this stock IPO'd at around 200 bucks and slid down to 50 cents. i bought it at 55 cents. i think it did a 1 for 32 reverse split shortly after, but that didn't make a whole lot of difference.
Inap....i think this was a 35 or 40 buck stock and i watched it go down steadily. i was sitting at the computer and watched it hit 20 cents, 20, 20, 19, 20, 19 and bought 20k shares at 20 cents. i think i sold it around a 1.70 and it came back to around 3.30 and did a reverse split.
Tso....i bought it around 3 bucks. An analyst from Barely Turns downgraded the stock and i think it went to a 100 bucks within a few months, split and went right back up again. i probably sold it around 10. i think the Barely Turns analyst should have downgraded his own stock and it might have saved investors a lot of money.
Oxy....600 shares @16 bucks (a crazy price for me) and had it long enough for the ink to dry.
Vixl....1 or 2 bucks and i think the company sold for 10.
    Oregon Steel for 5 bucks.

i was ADDICTED to trading and never had enough $$$$ to hold any stocks too long and eventually lost quite a few bucks, but it was fun. It's nice to have a few bucks in the bank, but don't cut your wrists over it. It makes too big a mess....

The tree guy is coming over next week to take down a couple trees at two locations for us. He has two crews running six days a week. One in the Lynnwood, Edmonds & surrounding areas and one on the East side Bellevue, Kirkland, Woodingville areas. The only advertising he does is with GOOG and they ROCK for EcotreeNW.
my Son and i used to advertise in five phone books for our business. i cut loose three of them a year ago at a savings of around 8400 bucks a year and our customer count is higher. The 1st six months last year were 305 jobs and this year 324 jobs. Phone book advertising seems to be going off the cliff. Many customers say they don't even have a phone book.
