Steady revenue growth from 2008-2014 ($31 mln to $133 mln). Backlog in same period has gone from $28 mln to $171 mln. Operating expenses have remained stable despite significant revenue growth. Margin improvement from -24% to +16% and projected higher. Many of the early investors got excited about Capstone products but have been disappointed because they didn't understand what it takes to build out a manufacturing company.High fixed costs and low revenues were killing them - that is resolving itself with the growth in revenue. Think about it this way - If you have fixed costs of $25 mln/yr but only sell 100 units thats $250,000 per/unit but if you have the same fixed costs and you sell 600 units then it drops to $41,000 pre/unit. There has never been a better time to own CPST. They are on the cusp of turning a profit and gaining market share. The opportunities for their products are enormous.

You should Add, "SFORK2001" to the list of clueless Bashers..........
"Words to Live By", by Michael T. Bonehead aka MIKETABONY(FORK-TONGUED Basher for the shorts) -
    1. When you are desperate and have absolutely nothing with any merit to say, make stuff up.
    2. If you can't find any real problems, be creative. Reach right into your rectum and fish around until you come up with something derogatory to post.
    3. Never use facts w/o twisting them to suit your purposes.
    4. Whenever possible, just flat-out lie.
    5. When called a liar and a basher, Lie, Lie, Lie.

Miketabony is one of the most transparent, snake-tongued, manipulative AHs to ever post on this MB.
The flat-out bashers/shorts have more integrity than this miketabonehead guy.
Your next buy-in will be painful for you, because you sold-out and turned to bashing way too soon this time, mikeyboy, you phony, fork-tongued piece of bull-droppings...

    Bump....perfect fit for MIKETABONY, STERNBEACHLIME, NIKOFTIME01, KCLARK1956, WOLFDOOGY25, JFORUUS, DESPATZ, TRUMPACE, RENEE299, SIGGROETSCH, LSQD1CAV, FORK-TONGUED DOOWOP59, FOXFIRE55552, QUADDYUP, ABSORBIN.JUNIOR!

    CONGRATULATIONS, TRUMPACE!!!
You are officially nominated for "Dumbest Post of the Day"!!!

  • Sternbeachlime & Noochie44 are the same person. He uses each ID as an argumentative shill for the other. Both IDs post meaningless drivel and insults to the other ID(as well as everyone else) so as to fill this MB with
all the B.........S..........that he can squeeze out of his mis-shapen head.

They share the same writing style(that of a home-schooled Hillbilly), childish name-calling, constant mis-spelling and inappropriate vebage.

.............and he has dozens of other IDs to do the same nonsense.

    "PATHETIC"!!!

Bashers keep bashing, but you can't stop Capstone Turbine's continuous, year after year, GROWTH!
The Best Is Yet To Come!

    Big Buy & Hold!
    __________
....and they continue to do Better & Better, YEAR AFTER YEAR - Consistently. They've got my vote..........YES to EVERYTHING!!!

When Darren Jamison took over, Capstone had :

    - 17 mil in sales
    - A poor sales distribution network.
    - A limited product line
    - No focus on emerging markets.
    - No ability to purchase parts in quantity to improve margins.
    - losses that make today's losses look like chump change.

DJ has turned Capstone into a global powerhouse in spite of the worst economy of my lifetime. In short, Capstone was in reverse. The previous management had no clue how to turn it around and most of the damage to the company occurred at that time . In order to restart Capstone (from scratch) DJ had to raise more money and now has a solid footing. DJ has stated , (if I recall correctly) that he was not concerned with the share price as his driving goal. His sole aim is to reach profitability and damn the torpedoes.

Some on this board feel that even with the obstacles DJ and his team faced that Capstone should have turned a profit by now. Most of the problems listed above have been corrected and each quarter shows improvement. There are now multiple avenues of income growing in oil, automotive, marine, waste and real estate. Any one of these opportunities can explode into massive orders tomorrow.

CHATSWORTH, Calif., Aug. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, today announced that it has signed a Factory Protection Plan (FPP) contract for nine C1000s increasing the total contract backlog for Capstone FPPs to a record of over $55 million. This $55 million in service backlog is in addition to the record $175 million product backlog as of June 30, 2014.
Horizon Power Systems, a leading energy supplier in the Oil and Gas market boasting a fleet of over 600 Capstone microturbines in operation, secured the FPP service contract to cover a major oil and gas producer's nine Capstone C1000 power packages at multiple locations.
Capstone microturbine is already the top choice in the low emission distributed generation oil and gas market due to its ability to deliver clean, reliable, and cost-effective power solutions. The Capstone FPP is unmatched in the industry and is designed to secure the reliability of the Capstone system by offering a risk-transfer solution aimed at limiting the monetary risk of any unplanned maintenance over the life of the contract.
"Most oil and gas producers work in remote locations where an electric utility grid is not an option or unreliable. The Capstone microturbine becomes the sole source of critical low emission power that our customers have come to rely on," said Sam Henry, President of Horizon Power Systems.
The nine C1000 systems currently operate in remote central gas gathering plants belonging to one of the largest natural gas operators in the Rocky Mountain and Mid-Continent regions, and the sites are now further protected under the inclusive Capstone FPP contract for a full nine years.
"The Capstone system is unique in its capability to drastically reduce flared gas and instead capture this gas and cycle it back into the production process, allowing our customers the ability to conduct
