  • NXP has agreed with the employees about their loan increase. It's 2.5% and another 1.75% later.
Possible strikes are off the table.

Local media and one or two national media have paid attention to this strike which was announced a week ago (2 hours product stop). Many are opposing the strike if you read the replies in the local media.

It is clear that the SA article is exaggerated. 300 (company)-450 (union) people have participated. The dutch unions are not strong and need to make these statements to keep up their reason for being. The company has said that the production has not been seriously in danger.
The risk of these employees leaving is hardly present; this is an unreal argument by SA. And, with all respect, these are not highly educated employees the company depends on.

I could go on, but I think mr Keulen wants to create another investment opportunity by himself. I was long last week and even longer today.

Interesting. The expanded stock repurchase to 25mln shares (plus 11mln in 2013 = 36 mln) could be in line with such a swap. I am not sure if these facilities are able to produce the chips with the specs needed on such a short term (Q3/Q4).

  • This stock should be mid-50's if you ask me. Can't explain the moderate open. Results and Conference call were all positive; guidance in line with close to $4 eps, strong long term growth perspectives, well leveraged, more protected to cycles than peers. I have seen stocks jump 20% last week on not half as good news.
