In the absence of news,.. technical analysis has a lot of merits... however,.. technicals will follow fundamentals (reflected by newsworthy developments)... not vice versa... i.e. in absence of news,... the price will go up,.. and it may go down... I don't pay too much attention to it.

    Agreed.

I don't know how many of the (im)posters behind the id's such as druggy25, hugochazez, puko, etc. etc. can look at themselves in the mirror when they get up every morning... essentially they have to say "well it's another day... I have to spin webs of lies and deceit.... I specialize in misinformation..." No moral scruples...

Akin to these Fudsters,.. are the swing / day traders that change their sentiment and posts faster than their underwear... i.e. the end (their gain) justifies their means (their lies)... pretty pathetic.

Fortunately,.. most investors can see through their charades...

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

AF is behind the curve because he doesn't understand the science.... He's not an idiot, but apparently purchased and paid for by the hedge funds... His actions and timing speak louder than words...

He, like his mentor,. has a super huge ego... Nice kleyn eyngl ... but his mama probably isn't proud... I could be wrong! No redemption here!

I plan to write a Seeking Alpha article... on how "Dr. Joseph Kim serves humble pie to the pundits..." Waiting for some more data-points... will call out AF, the dude from Fierce Biotech, Sean Williams, etc. the list goes on for a while... a public shaming is good for their souls... not necessarily mine.

... Be on notice.... I'm coming for you girls...

  • markbuti markbuti Apr 3, 2016 1:49 PM Flag

Alex, I agree.. a $1B valuation is a conservative estimate... but that could be ratcheted up very quickly based on Zika and existing partnership announcements...

One comparison data point is NVAX which I've invested in the past... as I recall they have two ph III trials for RSV (one in adults, one in infants).. NVAX is valued at $1.5B... Inovio's pipeline is huge compared to NVAX,.. but earlier stage...

Years ago, I commented that of the two companies, in terms of their science, Inovio was the clear winner... and Inovio has since delivered further value drivers that I frankly didn't think was possible... One could ask the question,... if Inovio would have focused very narrowly, like NVAX, would they have been further along in terms of their market cap valuation??

My response, in terms of valuation,.. maybe. But, it appears that Inovio has been doing a lot to lock up the intellectual property (via the broad patent estate) on multiple infectious diseases and oncology from a synthetic DNA vaccine perspective...

Perhaps all of us should keep the following statement in mind... written approximately 970 BC:

"I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time."

The floor support is rising on INO pps

    by markbuti Mar 29, 2016 5:38 PM
markbuti markbuti Apr 1, 2016 5:23 PM Flag

Since this original post predicting a near term 20% increase, INO stock has moved from $8.26 -- $9.25..... +12% in only 3 trading days..... (even I'm right once in a while)... We're not even close to where the stock should (and likely soon to) be.... but we're correcting.... price / technicals is following fundamentals.... This is an example of "the trend is your friend..." a significant short interest still,... very bullish and growing sentiment,... significant catalysts breaking loose on multiple fronts... I'm expecting a continued tear (is in steroids)... but the shorts won't go gently into that good night...

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    No More Cheap Shares

    by patcarr832 Apr 1, 2016 10:19 AM
markbuti markbuti Apr 1, 2016 12:37 PM Flag

Pat - referencing the old saying "hindsight is 20/20"... I'm guessing in less than a year from now many people will be kicking themselves for having not bought in the $9 - 10 range...

I've kept my shares from the climb to the current share price because my conviction is that we haven't even begun to reach the fair valuation price... At $20/shr,... given Inovio's significant progress in the last year alone,... this will probably be closer to where the company should be valued... even with no approved products....

Therefore,.. $9 - 10 will be proven to be cheap shares.....

  • I'm a fundamentals vs. technicals based investor... but am seeing the floor on Inovio's pps raise with the increased volume... a great sign!

Expectantly, this is being driven by increased bullish sentiment associated with Inovio's runway of pipeline report outs.... and the heightening Zika impacts with Inovio positioned as one of the key leaders.

This spells very bad news for the shorts.... and provides a great trajectory for the longs in a very short timeframe... What will be the next critical event that drives a short stampede for the door? Note: as of March 15, there were 13,715,128 shares short.

Will it be key milestone report out? A major grant for Zika? There are now many value drivers that, for the shorts, it's increasingly the equivalent of playing Russian Roulette.

I'm speculating that a significant % of the INO short interest are actually firms that either have a sizable stake in the company and are protecting their flank via arbitrage / hedging actions... - or - firms that have employed a long/short trading strategy... These companies usually limit their downsides through options and other tools. It would be interesting to know how many dark pool trades are taking place.

The retail investor obviously can't control the sophisticated institutional investors ,.. but significantly benefits as any time net demand exceeds available supply of shares..... Demand, of course, can be increased when short positions are closed. Hang onto your shares.... I'm thinking we're going another 20% higher very soon...

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    Unexpected PR

    by alexp1112 Mar 29, 2016 8:14 AM
markbuti markbuti Mar 29, 2016 8:25 AM Flag

When the original release was issued,... I questioned the rationale that Inovio would even consider participating in a trial wherein INO-3112 is utilized before and after chemoradiation in an adjuvant setting.

Chemoradiation is the equivalent of blunt force trauma to the human body... and represents the history of oncology treatment,... not the future. I wouldn't be investing in any treatment that props up / sustains a treatment that should be banned as soon as something better is available,... and I think INO and Medimmune have the real goods...

Undoubtedly some shorts will try to prey on weak retail hands.

Hey Biz! Long time since hearing anything from you.... apparently still holding your shares.... I have a lot,.. but not as much as I once did.. (sounds like a Toby Kieth song...)... Right now... I'm content to allow the stock creep towards its consensus target around $19-20, as I recall.

I'm very excited about Inovio's prospects on multiple fronts... and am hoping that the company won't agree to be acquired for some low-ball # e.g. $1.5-2B Would you sell out if you, overnight, could triple your money? Many would unfortunately.... but what if you would have the conviction that holding would have a yield of 10x+? (conservatively speaking) within the next 3 - 5 years?

Approximately a couple of months ago,... I told a friend of mine who is also an investor in INO,... that I expected INO to get a $50M grant from one of the U.S. agencies for Zika.... and that's being conservative. I still believe they'll get a sizable grant... the amount.... yet to be determined!

  • Health agencies inform on Zika vaccine timeline

Wednesday, March 16, 2016 | By Eric Sagonowsky

In a similar situation to the Ebola epidemic, the World Health Organization warns that any Zika vaccine may be developed too late to address the current epidemic. However, that isn't stopping work at the NIH and CDC, which are pleading for emergency funding so Zika research can progress and research in other areas doesn't get sidelined.

    NIAID Director Anthony Fauci
At the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Director Anthony Fauci said a research group has progressed toward a vaccine that could be tested within a few months and begin its first clinical test by the end of the summer, according to a report in MedPage Today.

*** The group's most advanced candidate is a DNA construct that encodes Zika antigens. The group built its vaccine from earlier work on a West Nile virus candidate and has others in progress. *** ???

Fauci and CDC Director Tom Frieden are asking Congress for emergency funding for Zika because the urgency of that outbreak has led other work into HIV, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus to be pushed off for lack of resources. Fauci has hinted that the NIH work may be unable to progress past Phase I without additional funding, MedPage Today reported.

    ......

Sanofi ($SNY) is the largest private company to get involved, while peers Merck ($MRK), Pfizer ($PFE), GlaxoSmithKline ($GSK) and Johnson & Johnson ($JNJ) have all said they're evaluating their options. WHO has previously said India's Bharat Biotech and the U.S. NIH are ahead in development, while Plymouth Meeting, PA's Inovio ($INO) recently said its candidate showed promise in mice; it's hoping to start a human trial by the end of the year.
