  • The action of the last 9 days is par for the course in biotech, sub-$1B market caps, and high retail / low institutional ownership names like CUR. You can either fret about it and panic sell/buy, or you can learn to use it to your advantage.

The future remains intensely bright for this small company.

.... to see more volume on a rise to the close as we saw on Friday. With another conference looming tomorrow there will be some covering and some new entrants.

Still waiting to see after this round of visibility if either the financial media or the national media (doubtful) can connect the dots on 189 like several on this board have done. It's simply HUGE.

Agree. I see buying pressure in the intraday movement over the last couple of weeks -- yesterday's afternoon movement was a good example. $3.17 is key.

If ATRS simply returns to the trading channel established in late 2009 to late 2013 (and subsequently broken), the chart trendlines project out to anywhere between $5.50 and $8.00. So, yes - IMO this is possible.

  • Would be extremely bullish to close above prior resistance at this level. Love the volume today. Given the Rx trends that are starting to show up on Fridays, this could be an extremely fun stock to watch over the next 6-12 months.

I've held some core ATRS for a while, but have doubled up holdings at this level. IMO there is money to be made here.

Again, great to see big volume again this morning after 2M yesterday. The word is getting out, and the institutions will come into this stock when they start digging into the data and unearthing it. Enjoy the ride and don't sell too early .... this is just the start IMO !!

    jb --

I was just about to post the same thing ... the volume is the most encouraging thing about today's rally. I'd love to see a 2M share day to take this uptrend to new highs with a big surge.

I'd really like to see CUR stave off another afternoon swoon and close strongly on some good volume at or above $4.09 where we hit the wall on Friday. I do like the fact that today's volume has been on a consistent steady ramp up throughout the day, a lot less susceptible to spikes if we build the chart this way.

    BOTTOM!!

Agree completely. Anyone with basic foresight ability should clearly be able to see that Otrexup has started a steady climb, the typical 'short small bio with new product launch' card has been played out, these shorts will cover, and we'll get a stock bounce here. That's not to say we won't get tossed around a bit -- this stock will have plenty of moves like we saw in the first half hour of today's trading.

I'm looking for an immediate Fib retracement back to the $3.50-$3.55 range. See you all there.

jb - yes, volume continues to be extremely weak and as long as this is the case we can assume that this level will provide a nice base level. The short positions hedging warrants is an interesting theory, since I believe that this is the level of exercise price.

Still, all of this being said, I think I'd be a lot happier over the weekend if we kicked up about 20 cents on some volume this afternoon to catch some of the IBB bounce that we've been dozing on.

  • On low volume yesterday (April 30). Would like to see us close above $15.26 to shift the overall trend.

I sure hope so, dog, but the fact that CUR is not bouncing back with the IBB or the smaller bios today certainly has me concerned that we're about to get a dose of bad news from somewhere. I'm kicking myself for not paying attention to the recent chart action on ATHX and paid the price with the 50% drop on Monday. That event was certainly seen in the sagging chart for the two months prior.

Make no mistake, I love the long-term story here but there are a number of possible gotchas that could hit CUR over the short-medium term:
-- Less than stellar 189 results
-- Possible dilution event after 150M share increase approval at meeting
    -- Required P3 for ALS
-- Competition in the StemCell / ALS / Stroke space
-- Rejection/Delay of Breakthrough Therapy Designation by FDA for ALS
-- An adverse result in one of the trial participants

I am hoping that the recent lack of bounce and slow deterioration in stock price is the market perception of reasons 2,3,4 above. I can live with that. My larger fear is that one of the other reasons is causing this.
