  • SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--GE (NYSE:GE) today announced the launch of its Digital Wind Farm, a dynamic, connected and adaptable wind energy ecosystem that pairs world-class turbines with the digital infrastructure for the wind industry. The technology boosts a wind farm's energy production by up to 20 percent and could help generate up to an estimated $50 billion of value for the wind industry.
The Digital Wind Farm uses interconnected digital technology—often referred to as the Industrial Internet—to address a long-standing need for greater flexibility in renewable power. The technology will help integrate renewable power into the existing power grid more effectively.
The Digital Wind Farm ecosystem begins with the production of the turbines themselves. With the next generation of Brilliant wind turbines, GE's new 2-megawatt platform utilizes a digital twin modeling system to build up to 20 different turbine configurations at every unique pad location across a wind farm in order to generate power at peak efficiency based on the surrounding environment. Additionally, each turbine will be connected to advanced networks that can analyze turbine operations in real time and make adjustments to boost operating efficiencies.

Welllll lights are still burning even though coal use has gone from 50% to 36%.....
It's happening NOW. And it will continue! LOL!
A new ranch out in the middle of nowhere. $50,000 per mile for a connection. THEN you have to pay the power bill. AND try and get quick help out in the middle of nowhere......
A small town in India will not be able to get power because of the cost of wiring up the town.
A family in order to feed their family and grow crops has to carry water and water their plants by pouring it with a cup. Now the town has solar and a well and it get irrigated..... They can't afford coal.
AGAIN read the report on fossil fuel subsidies by the IMF....
It's time to STOP ALL SUBSIDIES! ALL SUBSIDIES!
    You lies only cost you!!

  • UNITED NATIONS (AP) - A new report calls for investment in clean energy to be tripled to $1.2 trillion annually through 2030 to give more than one billion people worldwide access to electricity and help prevent global warming.

Adnan Amin, director-general of the International Renewable Energy Agency said Wednesday "it's absolutely feasible" that the goal can be achieved, pointing to major advances in using solar power and other renewables to power national grids, villages and homes especially in the developing world.

The report produced by the World Bank and some 20 other organizations and agencies tracks progress on the Sustainable Energy for All initiative. The campaign calls for achieving three targets by 2030: universal access to modern energy services, doubling the rate of improvement in energy efficiency, and doubling the share of renewables in the global energy mix.

According to the report, which was released Monday, annual global investments in energy will need to scale up from roughly $400 billion to meet the three targets. Of the $1.2 billion required, it said, between $40 billion and $100 billion annually is needed to achieve universal access to electricity.

By contrast, the report said, universal access to modern cooking fuels to replace wood, charcoal and dung which cause serious pollution and respiratory problems requires just $4.3 billion a year.

"This is not about charity," Kandeh Yumkella, the U.N. special representative for Sustainable Energy for All and CEO of the initiative, said Wednesday. "This is about markets and investments. We see this as a trillion-dollar opportunity, not a trillion-dollar challenge."

The initiative is rallying governments, international institutions, businesses, banks and civil society groups to help meet the 2030 targets.

"Governments do not have that kind of resource," Yumkella said. "Only public-private partnerships will generate this kind of resource flow."
