Just shows what a confusing situation to the general investing public that IMOS still is.....and maybe a reason that the stock price is as low as it is;maybe after the Thailin annoucement at month's end...............[ fill in the blank]....

Just reporting- decided not to do any IMOS options. Historically IMOS options have not been very well rewarded. But did add to my posey today in common stock.

Sean- yea it was pretty sweet going against the 30 professional anaysts of MU around March of 2013. The only risk was Elpida not closing.Even after the close of the deal on July 31 of 2013 the majority of the analysts were still asleep at the wheel. Some should have lost their jobs for gross incompetence. I am in danger of losing between 40% and 70% of my posey depending on what happens the next three Fridays. I may not follow Caff into the $40 Jan 2016's. If memory serves they are about $4. Risky business. But I still love MU at this price for the long haul [ not to say I will not liquidate at some future time and rest up]... Now to IMOS- the options up to this point in history have been tough sledding. But NOW I may take a flyer and will review the situation over the weekend.

royco- up only 10%! As Ralph Kramden said what am I going to do with peanuts! We IMOS investors are used to 100% yearly gains the last couple of years! Well just have to absorb a slow year. If only I was in charge of IMOS these many years.........

Jay/roy/bama et. al- I did not even notice the thumbs downs. Interesting.... I have certainly been way wrong on the timing on the conversion. As I stated still think IMOS is going to reward those holding from here. Do not see much downside risk excepting market conditions and then IMOS should react much better than the general market because of the situation...

Updated stock report- first let me say a brief word about Micron. Ever since the Elpida closign the stock has done exactly what it has promised to do without a bump in the road. It is in an industry that is oligopolistic. Think oil companies and airlines. It is not your father's Micron. It is very undervalued .Now to IMOS. There is a lot is dissatisfaction and disappointment by just about everyone. There is a lot of opportunity costs that have accrued by this conversion not being completed in a timely fashion [ not to mention the buybacks]. All justiifed. The thing to consider is what to do from here. The situation is thus- like a Greek tragedy the ending is mostly known. What is not known is the length of time, a few details, and maybe most importantly market condiitons in a future that very well be a half year from now. My sources tell me that everyone [including SPIL] wants this thing over with already. So IMO it is being handled at this time in as expeditiously as legally allowable. Why IMOS did this and not that 6 months ago or two years ago or whatever should be left to the historians. Is this still a good investment? I come down on the side of yes it is. It may flounder for a while if there is a big seller. But a 15M buyback will start in a couple of weeks followed by maybe another. I think good news will soon start to filter out [ see the nice bump in 8150]. Again we all know what is going to happen. And I agree it is taking way too long but you [ another cliche coming] gotta to dance with who you came with.

If you want to be a knowledeable investor listen to yesterday's webcast. Business is great and will remain so for a few years. Difficult to meet demand. Micron is in a sweet spot.

turt, et. al- finally able to access the IMOS MB. I had no problem with the MU and HIMX MB [ the only two others I tried]. It just seems IMOS is snakebitten.... Apparently we will have to await the good news that is coming between the Board meeting of Nov 1 and the CC of Nov 12. I know I have been wrong before but it would be inconceivable to me for them to put off this conversion any longer. If it does not happen we will have some very unhappy investors. And of course what is most mystifying is the action of 8150 unless the 'deal' was so advantageous to IMOS that 8150 investors would be unhappy [ do not see that happening]. So not much else to say but have to run out the clock here. And a message for Yahoo- wake the fk up!

I also can't get on the MB except in a round about way and limited to this message [ so far]. Yahoo is a real disgrace and is just asking for some smart entrepeneur to come along and take them out as the leading stock MB. And why doesn't Yahoo have a spell check [ certain search engines have one for all posting but not mine]. Yahoo- wake up.

Johnboy- Royco was of course correct- you were not the one being referenced. Again for those that missed it- sensing a vacuum in the language in searching for the correct terminology to call a certain person an 'idiot' as that would be an insult to idiots everywhere, said linguistic problem was solved by my coining the neologism 'iriot' to cover the void. It [iriot] is le mot juste that I was lacking in my vocabulary reportoire.

I see some of the iriots have come around once again. A word of advice to the sane that someone told me long ago- never argue with an iriot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

bama- can't answer your question. If i had been running the company we would never had the reverse split, never would have needed to get a dual lsiting, and have had half as many shares outstanding as I would have bought back 1/2 the compnay under $5. But alas, I was not in charge [ i did own a company with about 100 employees for many years] and have just had to have the bulk [ or mode] of my shares go from $3 to $20 [ though many others bought at much higher prices] . A real shame as this could have been a real home run. But November 12th is coming upon us shortly and let us hope [that phrase again] that the patience will be rewarded.

hedge- hate to enter into any political or scientific or any but equity discussions here...but, Ebola is so far from an 'epidemic' disease...as you know you have to have direct contact with a very sick person or his dead body- it is not an airborne disease , like SARS from China, Mersa from the middle East- we did not stop all flights and business from China during the bird flu panic [ maybe we should have I am not engaging in that discussion]- that would have consequences. Just do not hang around any real sick people, that is , touch them, have sex with them, let them bleed, vomit, or defecate on you etc. or handle their dead bodies and you wil be fine.
