    Valuation 87M home cable network

    Mr Trump,
ShopHQ has pretty much been available to all of NYC for a long time...
The NYC office is about merchandising and giving them a presence...somewhere to dry off after standing out in the rain looking for the next big thing.

Q was valued 3.1 x sales in 2003 or @$14B. Same metric (US Sales only in 2014) is $20B. Perhaps the new tracker will unlock some of that value for Q....and have an impact on VV?

With the growth prospects that lie ahead for VVTV....3.1 multiple on sales seems plausible.....so that is $2B.

  • One of the more interesting comments on the cc was from Robert Routh who questioned the valuation the market has put on VVTV's 87M homes.....so.....what is the value of an 87M home cable network footprint?

    My guesstimate is $1B to $1.5B. ($19 to $28/share)

Would think MB's good friend BDiller might want some of this....or John Malone....especially since MB is a 'cable guy'. (along with ecommerce)

    Day 66....the Zulily Valuation

    Mr. Lime,

Thanks for the update and that is welcomed news. The more I read about KS (if all true)....the YouTube Post by one of his Dusseldorf colleagues proved to be prescient. (viewed back in 2008). I feel bad that I did not vote with CG....

Anyway....I like Mr Bozek....and think he can put the sizzle that has been absent since the General occupied the Oval Office in EP...specfically a Zulily valuation....that would be quite a 'sizzle'!

  • Think nimbly, act nimbly...lets get to the Zulily valuation of $4.5B. We have the management and now it appears an activist board. They are all really, really, really, like REALLY mindful of the history of this company

"...it bears repeating that those challenges and it’s coupled with to the point about Zulily and those questions that the incredibly fluid nature that are all things commerce and all things digital that present us with really great exciting opportunities and I am viably excited to be here working amongst this team. "

    ------------------------
I believe Bozek could put the Dream (Zulily valuation) into VVTV!

    Mr. Lime,

Thanks for your post and for sticking around. Bozek "knows" and will trust that he also knows how to capitalize VVTV assets to maximize shareowner returns. He can count on my support and prodding.

Put the D in the T and grow the P!

  • Totally not impressed with the call today. Call it...very aware of the history of this company and all the blah blah blah have heard....all it is lots of money to pay the blah blah blah.

    Evolve...blah blah blah.

When does B put the D in the T!

We voted for this?? Blah blah blah!

Fabricone1 - I never met the General personally but we did exchange emails and he even posted to this board a few times. My sense is that he was a good man, bigger than life who certainly took lil ole VVTV to the next level. So much of what occurred during his reign (NetRadio, BigStar, etc) evolved to (Pandora, NetFlix). It was all 'before its time' but the General had the vision. MB and the entire exec staff and BoD should read every PR and news article from the General's era to see what happened then and then determine if the time is right to try some of it again. They would save a fortune on consulting or the costs of trying out something new.....cause the General tried a lot of stuff!

It would be nice to think the General is looking down on all this change at VVTV, smoking on his pipe, and chuckling that the BDT might actually be successful.

Fabricone1: No truer words - "This is so hard to understand a simple concept without vision though and this more than anything else has been missing since the General's day. The General was not the expert that many of the former Q staffers are for sure with regard to Q Quantum Mechanics but he had vision, heart and passion and knew about change and risk management and never forgot about thinking rather than just accepting what is."

It was the General's vision, heart and passion that drove the stock to $62. (which represented @10 x Sales at the time) If the BDT could get us to $62 again...it represents less than 5x sales. The vision, heart and passion...the SOUL...of VVTV/ShopHQ....is long overdue for a re-awakening. Can the BDT match the General (RIP)? When does the B put the D in the T?

    BDT - NO FREE PASS

Way too soon? Huh? The BDT said they KNOW how; KNOW what they are doing.

You and Mr Trump etc can give them all the time you want. They get Zero honey moon from this share-owner.

Q and H reported Qs that were solid. I fully expect ShopHQ to at very least meet consensus topline growth of 5.9%. In fact anything less that a $160M Q will be a miss.

LINTA proceeding to establish a pure Q/HSN tracker....that could bode well for VVTV pps because it will give us a true comp. LINTA and HSNI to day are not 100% pure multi-channel (TV) comps.

I expect the Q2 call to provide full update on current 90 day plan and to also provide glimpse to next 90 days.

Anything less is not what the BDT represented in their campaign.

How quickly ye forget. The BDT campaigned for 10 mos telling all they had the secret to make VVTV fabulously successful. VVTV spent $4M telling us they should continue the job. The BDT won. The BDT/CG posted a 90 Day Plan. The only items of that plan that are completed was announced 6/23 with a new CEO (MB) and new Chairman (MR). There were many other actions/dates that have since passed. The next date is 8/20 followed by 8/22.

The BDT gained 100% responsibility for anything and everything beginning 6/23. They have not communicated anything since that date. We are now ending Day 43 of their reign and the pps languishes as if Sir Will were still in charge.

When does B put the D in the T???

    Mr Trump,

I do not want a surprise. The Q should at least meet. I want them to do what they said they were going to do. If they are doing it they are not publicly communicating it.

For communications (especially after all the CG campaigning)...the BDT FLUNKS!

    Mr Trump,

We can agree to disagree. The BDT has NOT DONE WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO....or at the very least...NOT TOLD ANYONE.

Can't wait to hear the excuses on 8/20!

  • marubozo100 by marubozo100 Aug 5, 2014 8:07 AM Flag

June 19, June 27, July 18, August 22, and September 19 were key dates of the CG 90 Day Plan with all sorts of things that should have happened by those dates.

Amazing how many of these dates have now passed and the only thing that has happened that we know of....MB is CEO and Buck is Chairman.

Did they decide the 90 day plan was not workable? Did they just decide to go fishing the rest of the summer?
Shareholders....ahem....are an important constituent....they are responsible for the BDT....but like prior regimes....already forgotten.

Am sure 8/20 conf call will introduce the BDT excuse machine. Homes not mature as we thought, fixed carriage is a problem, the execs are not as bad as we thought, the dog ate the plans etc etc

The BDT has now been aboard 43 days....they promised: business will not be "usual".

They insist on an executive team that works every day (from the headquarters) to develop the business and increase shareholder value.
There will be a focus on innovation and catching up – and then leap-frogging – the competition.
The business will evolve quickly, with the addition of new vendors, proprietary brands and programming approaches that will not cost a lot, but which will have a major impact on the bottom line.
The look-and-feel of the channel and Company will finally emerge from the 1990s and have a modern, interactive, clean and inviting look.
The culture inside the company will change too: Gone will be the million-dollar per year, three-day-a-week executives that have understandably bred resentment and loathing.
Gone too will be the coarse language and oppressive, imperial leadership culture that we have heard so much about from present and former employees.

Buried inside of ValueVision are the assets, skills, and creativity required to spawn the next leader in omni-channel retailing; the BDT relish the opportunity to mold those assets into a Company of which we can all be proud.

Day 43 of "business will not be usual".....all I see is the usual non-performance in our pps.
    -------------------------------------
Looking at the CG 90 Day Plan.....lots of things should have happened by 6/27 and 7/18....maybe I missed the PR?

  • marubozo100 by marubozo100 Jul 25, 2014 5:36 PM Flag

How about capturing some of the investment dollars that are flowing out of AMZN. Just today AMZN MCAP dropped by $15.9B. That is equivalent to a VVTV pps of $324.06! LOL

Heck....I could buy MB's home on the northshore and still have money left to buy out the rest of the 'commuters'....and move em all to an EP Trailer Park.

If the Bozek Drean Team (BDT)....really IS.....then anything less than $100/share is a nitemare. LOL

    Mr Trump,

You are too kind. The BDT knows what they are doing. They said they would hit the ground running. That started 6/23/2014.

I suspect that MB will continue to live in NY....since VV will be opening a NY office....with also a residence in MN

There is not nuch difference in weather between MN and NY now....

    Mr Trump,

Clinton Group and the BDT clock began on 6/23/2014. Anything that happens from that date on is their responsibility. From the looks of the pps since 6/23....they must all be fishing.

Heck....I wish I would have bought AMZN ...AMZN is up 25,000%....VVTV is ZERO with headaches, heartaches and nausea too numerous to count.

No record that MB has moved to MN. He must still be commuting from the North Shore of LI....

    Mr Trump,

The SA article is not very well researched. With more effort the writer would have learned that the falling ASP has been a long term strategy and it took a long time because to go any quicker would have caused much larger losses because of the fixed carriage fee.

Lets see how the BDT deals with that reality!

One month and the BDT is invisible!
