RBC Capital Markets analyst Doug Freedman says Intel (INTC_) can pay around $27 billion to buy wireless chipmaker MediaTek, in a deal that would benefit the company's earnings while stemming investment losses it is incurring to grow wireless market share.

Freedman said in a telephone interview he believes a deal will happen within the next two-to-three years "almost out of necessity." The analyst noted an acquisition of MediaTek is Intel's best option to grow in the wireless market.
What? Intel didn't take a stealth position in SMSI, Oh My aching sides !

Richard Valera - Needham and Company
Okay, perfect. And then just on the cash front, you guys needless to say have a pretty low cash level. I'm just wondering, do you have any sort of contingency plans, credit available, it only take another sort of bad quarter and you guys would effectively have no cash, so just wondering what's sort of the backup plan here, how do we think about cash over the next couple of quarters?

Bill knew that the PIPE was going to take place at the time Rich Valera asked the question !! It was about 3
weeks between the CC and this announcement.

  • Existing investors tend to have mixed reactions to PIPE offerings as the PIPE is often highly dilutive and destructive to the existing shareholder base. Depending upon the toxic terms of the transaction, a PIPE may dilute existing shareholders' equity ownership, particularly if the seller has agreed to provide the investors with downside protections against market price declines (a death spiral), which can lead to issuance of more shares to the PIPE investors for no more money.

The SEC has pursued certain PIPE investments (primarily involving hedge-funds) as violating U.S. federal securities laws. The controversy has largely involved hedge funds that use PIPE securities to cover shares that the fund shorted in anticipation of the PIPE offering

" registering the resale of the common stock issued in the private placement." About 90% down the page you
will see a PDF , I suggest you read about PIPES. Its right above the number 7 result and the article is by
Morrison & Foerster. Pay special attention to the death spiral section. .../FAQsPIPEs.pdf

You don't need to use the " " That should give all an idea what is going on for those who have not seen
    this occur before.

We apply a standardized way of solving the complex problem of connecting dissimilar devices by using a common approach to their interface. We’re pleased with the initial support that we are receiving from industry leaders such as AT&T International, Sprint, Reliance Communications, PT Bakrie Connectivity, GCT Semiconductor, Comcast Corporation, Bouygues Telecom, Bell Canada, and others

Right there it is ! And where did it get them ? Sprint (Tier 1) Bouygues (Tier 1) France, Bell Canada (Tier1)
Comcast Corp. Reliance Comm. and AT&T International..... ='s TOTAL BS...TOTAL BS..

  • Now, look, mental mango, I do realize you are quite dim but surely not THAT dim. If a company has been issued a delisting notice do you honestly believe investors would be rushing to buy that stock?
