I am very excited here. I am realizing that there are generations of people who miss the portable walkman and next radio brings that back to them with a free solution. The company will probably buy back it's stock before the dividend, in my oppinion since the CEO said there is a lot of unlocked value in this company...
If you had listened to prior conference calls, this is no surprise. The dollar amounts may not have been disclosed but we knew the radio broadcasters would have to pay something to Sprint. The last I heard was that EMMS was hoping Cumulus Media and a couple other big players would sign on to this to bear some of the costs, which I don't think they had yet unless they mentioned that in todays release.
I can see next radio being huge for EMMS. There will be a lot of demand as people want the free alternative. I have had 100% of my account invested in EMMS for over a year now with my average cost being around 1.85 per share. I still feel there is much more upside to and I can't wait for next radio to get into more phones because I really want that on my phone! I don't have a data package on my phone. I just pay $25 a month to simple mobile for unlimited talk and messaging. Wouldn't it be nice if I can get a phone with those same options plus next radio? I'm hoping for that soon.
The preferred shareholders helped prevent the previous offer from going through which was back in 2010 when Smulyan offered to buy out shareholders for $2.40 a share. I wonder why they really didn't want the deal to go through because looking back, they would be better off if the deal went through considering what happened yesterday. If it wasn't for the preferred shareholders, we wouldn't have had this chance to see EMMS at the price we are currently at. Hopefuly the preferred shareholders buy the common stock now and help drive up the price.
EMMS is looking good!! Now that it hit 3.50 today, the point and figure chart I use will have a new X in the 3.50 box. Next stop is 3.75 and when it hits that, the chart will say it's a new buy signal as we will have surpasseed the last high of 3.50 which we hit back in Sept. last year.
