Haven't posted in a while. Still think Carter is a #$%$ and that JJohnson is either Carter himself or works in the offices in PA. The scam is still in full swing and not going anywhere as always. Just like the ol'Candy Store.
Has anyone on this board considered investing in bitcoins? Just curious on how socialized the currency is outside of tech circles. If you would have invested a few thousand in bitcoins at the first of the year you would be a millionaire on that alone. They shot up from $40.00 about a month ago to $230.00 last week, but then came crashing down to $90.00 this week. That having been said, the market has apparently steadied. Still more than 100% increase in just a month and looks promising that another steady increase is on the horizon.
This increase was based on the sudden rush of media coverage from CNBC, Forbes, Business Insider, and others in the past two weeks. Some are skeptical and others see huge untapped potential, but no one is willing to take a out-right stand against the digital currency.
Just so you know, the crash happened because the major exchange MT.GOX couldn't handle the traffic. The actual currency was just fine, but the dominant exchange (80%) couldn't handle the sudden rush and buy / sell orders got out of whack. That caused a shake in confidence and thus the price adjustment. The other exchanges were unaffected, as was the digital currency itself.
But the infrastructure for the 100% decentralized currency is getting stronger and so far no one has been able to break it (it's been tried), and I'm predicting that if the mainstream broadcast media gets word, or they finally find the genius who created the currency in the first-place , an entirely new rush will happen once bitcoins go mainstream.
Check it out for yourself. Would love to know the opinions on this. I only threw a thousand dollars into the bitcoin market, so my exposure really isn't much of anything. But if bitcoins go bonkers, it could be an easy 500-1000%
return.
