Tivo is dead money but it may work if they can lose Rogers in the deal. If stuck with Rogers he will drag ROVI down the same way he did with TIVO. Tivo is a failed company because of weak management.
when I spoke to Hughes about Gen4 they said I could watch 5 maybe 6 netflix movies a month before my GBs were used up. such a deal
Rogers is probably planning to bleed TIVO for the next year when their best patent expires and he can slip away and his BOD can pick some rube as his replacement. He really has waited way too long to expect anybody to pick up the pieces. Even his buddies at CNBC may have lost faith in him as his recent appearance was a total joke as they gave him maybe 2 minutes and he had to speed talk his tout....it was so funny it was sad. CNBC is probably tired of giving him free time to give the same basic rap every time. The only positive thing about the interview was he was not drunk for sure as he could never have spoken so fast if he was drunk.
Now that they are searching for a new CEO there could be some upside potential. Will depend upon how much Rogers bleeds the company for on his way out. Also the new guy has to kick this mule.
Sounds like one of Roger's rambling pipe dreams. How would this concept of yours be any better than roku and why would gamers want to fool around with tivo?
Good...maybe the real future of Tivo is as a patent troll. We know Rogers can make money in court. Too bad he never shares any of the profits with his stockholders.
You will feel that Rogers is a great success if TIVO gets back to $10?
You are right about me I think $10 is failure for the stock and Rogers. Yeah $14 seems out of reach until Rogers turns the company over to real management.
Under the leadership of Rogers Tivo has managed to stay in the single digits price range for 15 years now. Low price, no dividend, and no future. Good thing for Rogers he has the BOD in his pocket.
Now if ROGERS will sell all his shares the company could be sold to better management. Rogers is a loser when together with TIVO.
Do any of the employees keep they stock they get from options? Or do they sell it as quick as they can by law? Tivo a game of musical chairs...
The BOD is working for Rogers and not working for the stockholders. They give each other alot of free options and everybody benefits but not the stockholders. FIRE the BOD and Roast Rogers (isn't that what you do to pigs?)
Cramer is wrong alot but he has been right on that TIVO is not a good investment. Maybe you should listen to that clown
Are there any employees who want to defend ROGERS? Does anybody in IT at TIVO respect ROGERS? or is he considered a tool?
Did any other TIVO investors read the Edited Transcript of TIVO presentation 23-Jun-15 3:20pm GMT? Rogers comes off very weak to me.... and maybe delusional. Maybe Rogers needs to get out of his office and see what is happening in the world. Who needs a subscription TIVO to access media when ROKU has no monthly fees and is cheap to buy.
managers have been bleeding the company. It is foolish to dream they want to take it private....unless they can drive the price down into the pennies then maybe they would buy it all.
