TIVO'S new motto.... "TIVO, we are the stockholder AND customer unfriendly company"

  • mellowmike05 mellowmike05 May 1, 2015 10:25 PM Flag

I am not sure if this is a real post or a post by a tivo employee. I have never heard of a cable bill for $245 a month and I have never heard before that using a tivo is cheaper than using the generic DVRs from the cable companies.
This post sounds like a PR release from the publicity dept at tivo. The tivo may be a good DVR but did you do any DD on tivo? Do you know that the management is very weak and it is a very stockholder unfriendly company. Have you ever heard anything about other products from tivo besides their DVR? Do you know their basic patent is going to expire in 2017 and then its all over. Did you think Rogers would ever share any of his company's money with the shareholders in the way of a dividend? Have you looked at a chart of the stock since it became public? A very ugly chart indeed. Did you know Rogers is unloading stock in very large numbers. The boss of tivo is SELLING stock not buying! Just a few things to think about.

The future is so exciting, these greed mongers are going to give us the opportunity to invest in 3 new companys so they can then suck dollars from us at 4 times the volume. Life is great.

TIVO potential Buyout by ALIBABA ?

    by kored35 Jun 15, 2015 11:56 AM
    mellowmike05 mellowmike05 Jun 15, 2015 5:16 PM Flag

For many years back when the TIVO board was active and before most people gave up on TIVO, there was a daiy chant about all the different companies that were going to buyout TIVO. Google was the most popular but there were many others listed weekly from AAPL to INTL to CSCO. Also other favs were the cable companies. No other company ever even showed the slightest interest in TIVO. With on demand and the cloud TIVOs days are numbered. TIVO has very weak management with no vision. Rogers is a joke in my opinion and I would think that opinion is quite widespread judging by the poor job he has done and in his taking TIVO down to such a low status. Asia has had DVRs for many years and BABA does not need TIVO to offer a DVR.

Did any other TIVO investors read the Edited Transcript of TIVO presentation 23-Jun-15 3:20pm GMT? Rogers comes off very weak to me.... and maybe delusional. Maybe Rogers needs to get out of his office and see what is happening in the world. Who needs a subscription TIVO to access media when ROKU has no monthly fees and is cheap to buy.

  • mellowmike05 mellowmike05 May 2, 2015 10:13 PM Flag

I just post the truth about tivo and rogers. Its not like I have to make up negative things. These negative things are real and happening all the time. If all the benefits go to rogers how does that help you as a tivo stockholder? Is your whole reason for owning tivo to make life easier and better for rogers? Maybe if enough stockholders wake up to what is really happening at tivo a change could come for the better. If you are a stockholder do you really want weak management? I just want tivo to start acting like a real company and not just a personal piggy bank for rogers and his cohorts

    How Many Polish

Its too late. They had their chance and they blew it. Maybe they can hold on for a while as a 2nd rate dvr company but they lost the lead years ago and they have no long term future. Tivos big deal is to buy a polish company? give me a break. If you were a tech guy about the last company you would want to work for would be TIVO. At least they did something with some money besides give Rogers some more free options.

  • mellowmike05 mellowmike05 May 28, 2015 10:11 AM Flag

Everything right. ha ha ha ha ha. You must work for tivos propaganda division. Start with dumping Rogers. 2nd give a dividend to stockholders. third maybe have a 2nd and 3rd and 4th product so its not a one trick pony. In the tech world they are at the bottom of the barrel. You touts must work for hedge funds trying to get out of tivo stock.

managers have been bleeding the company. It is foolish to dream they want to take it private....unless they can drive the price down into the pennies then maybe they would buy it all.

TiVo Goes Mainstream With This Big Cable Deal

    by elmaestro11 Mar 15, 2015 7:33 PM
    mellowmike05 mellowmike05 Apr 15, 2015 11:05 PM Flag

In the last 20 years TIVO has not added much in the way of dreaming up new ideas as you say. It is still Rogers one trick pony. If you are new to TIVO you probably do not realize all the money goes to ROGERS and his gang of officers and directors. Nothing ever goes to the stockholders. Rogers may be dreaming but the clock is ticking. I hope he wakes up while there is still time. Rogers please wake up and get real management to run TIVO before it is too late. TICK TOCK

  • mellowmike05 by mellowmike05 Apr 16, 2015 10:53 PM Flag

Rogers just unloaded $415.750.50 in TIVO stock and 30 days ago he sold another $1,603,436.00 in TIVO stock.
This is the leader of TIVO and he is bailing. I guess ROGERS has learned how to tell time. TICK TOCK. Come on ROGERS how about doing the right thing and sell the whole company and not just your shares. Mr Rogers = Mr Shareholder unfriendly

    ROGERs Selling Big

    by mellowmike05 Apr 16, 2015 10:53 PM

some moron gave me a thumbs down for pointing out that the "great" leader of TIVO just dumped $2 million dollars worth of his company's stock. Rogers "SOLD" over $2 million dollars worth of TIVO stock he didn't buy any shares. What kind of a moron would give a thumbs down unless it was Rogers or one of his gang or else maybe a short.seller. I guess this moron is like most TIVO stockholders and he or she is quite happy to bow down and kiss the feet of the "great" TIVO leader. "Oh its okey ROGERS you can do anything you like as TIVO is your personal company it does not belong to the stockholders it belongs just to you"

how much did he take out of the company on the "ipo"? do you have a link? I saw the takeover and reverse split of the old DISK but I didn't see any actual ipo.

If you check all the company filings you will see that he has been buying a lot of shres over the past year or so and most of them at much higher prices. H e bought a lot of shares over the $3 price. Its not like he has been selling all the way down.

If you are not happy here to hold or buy more you can sell and get out. I have some open buy orders in that I need to have more shares to fill. Why hold if you do not like the management?
