Wonder how much the company pays to send Rogers to all those conferences and how much they spend on his bar tab.

2017.....they are running out of time.
Rogers knows the clock is ticking but he seems to do nothing. It seems too late for small little deals. He needs to sell out to a company with money and real management before its too late. Rogers appears to be living in a dream world of the 1990s when TIVO was new and exciting, a verb and had a chance for greatness. Someday TIVO will be a class study at Harvard business school on how to screw up a great patent.

    who competes with tivo?
Try a little research before you start pumping.....thats ok the morons come, stay awhile, and then leave this board. Can you say "tax loss" can you say "Rogers suckered me"?

dude if you are trying to pump and dump TIVO you have a long hard road. Rogers has you beat by a country mile. He gets his shares a whole lot cheaper than you will ever get them for. Tivo is like a chain letter thats near it end.

Pretty normal for TIVO. Everytime it moves up even a little all the unhappy longs come rushing in from the sidelines to sell. TIVO never has a chance to break out because all the stockholders who have been fooled by Rogers in the past are just waiting and hoping to get out as soon as they can get close to their purchase price. Roger's silver tongue is long past it's glory days but it seems he still loves to attend every media conference to try to suck more lambs into the TIVO web. I guess for old guys like Rogers its a kick to get a free trip to a conference and binge with all your old drinking buddies. When is the board of directors going to do their duty to the stockholders and get real management for TIVO before it is too late?

You may want to go to investor village and post your MLP questions on their MLP board. You will get better responses there. Several MLP tax experts on that board.

    The Problem With Tivo

Maybe you work for tivo or you are not serious about making money but look at the chart for tivo from 2009 after the crash until now when almost all stocks have done great and you will see that tivo is flat...gone nowhere..maybe 6 years is nothing to you but I like to get some return on my investment after 6 years. Rogers gets paid but he stockholders do not get paid. Why not? I sold most of my tivo stock years ago as I had a big position in the $4 area and I made a lot of profit. but I kept a few shares andI think I deserve a profit on those shares also as I have suffered for years owning tivo and watching Rogers bleed this company dry. If you are really a stockholder why do you not want a dividend? Why do you back Rogers when he does nothing for you and other stockholders? Why do you want the insiders to bleed all the money into their own pockets and not give anything to their stockholders? I don't think you are really a stockholder. You are probably part of Rogers gang.

I love return of capital over divs but you may want to wait before you file you taxes in case there is a revised and/or corrected tax statement.

    The Problem With Tivo

I think Rogers has one of his gang post all the thumbs down that appear on this board. Who else but an out of touch management would put a thumbs down on your most thoughtful post? Why would any sane stockholder put all the thumbs down that appear on this board? All stockholders who have bought shares in the last few years are underwater. Why don't these stockholders want Rogers to do something? Anything? Before it is too late. The clock is ticking. Instead of blaming the big bad shorts, stockholders should be calling management and asking them if there is a future for TIVO? Rogers needs a graceful exit before it is too late and the ship sinks.

Canaries in the coal mine. Tick tock Rogers...time to do something...ANYTHING!!! Rogers and his Tivo will someday be a case study at Stanford on how he turned a tradename into a verb and then into a diaster and then into oblivion....

Is this Pig going to base for 20 years? Sheesh

    by elmaestro11 Feb 12, 2015 4:11 PM
    mellowmike05 mellowmike05 Feb 13, 2015 10:17 AM Flag

At this point in time, with weak leadership and no direction into the future.... that 20 year base is probably the only reason I have held on to a small part of my orginal position....but Rogers is wearing me down, Loss of opportuity is costing me every day that TIVO just lays here doing nothing.

Look at this dead board!! Even the retail customers have given up on bashing or buying tivo stock. How long is Rogers going to squeeze the lemon?

stock buybacks do not return anything to average stockholders. Only good for Rogers and his gang so they can unload the free stock they award themselves. How about dividends. Some companys give shareholders money every quarter and that is called a dividend.

SOMEONE probably Rogers or one of his goons gives me a thumbs dowm but does not have the ba!!s to write a real reply. Hard to reply to the truth is it not Mr Rogers?

  • mellowmike05 by mellowmike05 Feb 10, 2015 1:39 AM Flag

And the trick is getting real stale. No innovation. What techie would go to work for Tivo? 3rd 4th or 5th tier? All the talent goes to real companies like GOOG, AAPL, MSFT, INTC etc etc etc etc etc etc. When was the last time Tivo did something interesting? 20 years ago in the 1990s?

  • mellowmike05 mellowmike05 Jan 22, 2015 9:22 PM Flag

If you are old enough to remember what a Xerox is then you will remember that Tivo is the original name for the DVR. Some people mostly old people still refer to the DVR as a tivo but that will fade in time as they die off.

  • mellowmike05 by mellowmike05 Jan 14, 2015 11:51 PM Flag

I thought Rogers would have jumped ship by now but it seems like he is going to milk this cow until it is old and dry. No stockholders care. No hedge funds care. No one seems to care that it is getting very close to way too late to save TIVO. Rogers is so old that he needs Tivo because at his age there is nowhere else to go and after the poor job he has done with tivo no one would hire him. Maybe he could manage a taco bell or a corner tavern. But why have the stockholders not revolted? Why do stockholders put up with such substandard management? Tivo must have the dumbest stockholders of any public company.
