    this is the key:

In animal experiments, rats were injected with these human stem cells and recovered significant function in all lower extremity joints, according to Neuralstem. "The cells turned into neurons which grew a 'remarkable' number of axons that extended for 'very long distances,' bridging above and below the point of severance," the company says in a statement, quoting study results from August 2012.

It will be good to hear an update on phase 2, i'd love to hear whats going on. That being said however, is it just me, or does anybody else feel like conference presentations never take the SP anywhere? I feel like there is always plenty of talk about how these will act as catalysts for upward movement, but those just dont pan out.

I also agree, 5 dollars soon is what I have been saying. Monday would be great, butI'm feeling it a little more towards the end of the week. If it happens Monday, I couldn't be happier.

I remember thinking a few weeks ago, if this hit 4.00, then 5.00 would occur in very short order. It will not take long at all now.

    Spinal Cord Injury Trial . . .

    by fasttimesgrad Mar 4, 2014 5:33 PM

The question is timeline here. Acute spinal trauma, myelin tracts are still present. The axons can grow using those as guidewires. How this is dealt with months to years after injury will be very interesting considering both anterograde and retrograde atrophy of the fiber tracts.

My feeling is this is the reason ALS trials have been successful, and why it was chosen as the first model for therapy. The sclerosis of the nerve fibers is a much slower processes obviously, than say traumatic spinal injury. Many fiber tracts are still present allowing for axonal generation of the betz cells.

Any physicians or neuroscientist around here that can confirm or refute my thoughts?

Stahlz, I read about your wife, I am sorry to hear the news. I can understand the desire to try anything when there are no options left. Right to try for you wife in this case would have done more harm than good in terms of CUR cells. If you will take this example, I hope to make it clear. COPD as you are likely well aware is a disease in which patients are unable "exhale" enough air. If we can use a car as an example, the headers and exhaust system are blocked up, like a potato in the exhaust pipe. New neuronal stem cells would be the equivalent of rewiring the electrical system and replacing the inverter. It would not have changed the exhaust problem. Do no harm should be the mantra of any physician, and understanding that, i think any physician would have been reluctant to have tried these cells on your wife. Understand that you did everything in your power to help your wife, and that is all anybody, including your wife could ask of you. I am sure she would be proud of the effort you undertook to provide care for her in her times of need.

If cur can get to 4 in the next 2-3 weeks, i believe it can move up pretty close to 5 in very short time.
