"little or no compensatory damages"
Oh, it's much, much worse than that. Years ago we bought Apple and over the next two years it nearly ten-folded in price. But while that was happening at one point it had a 15 point drop. Sure enough Apple was sued for not revealing some ginned up "material" fact that caused people to lose money (if they happened to have bought it just before the drop and sold it just after). The class was certified and Apple caved. We got a small check (because we'd had the shares during the period in question) even though we'd had an enormous gain in the stock. There is rarely any justice involved in a class action - it's using the law to enrich yourself if you're a lawyer.
"California, where over 25% of power generation is non-fossil fuel and ~90% is not from coal, where the small percentage of coal continues to drop and where solar+wind generation is growing far faster in absolute terms than all other electric power generation fuels."
Those are the numbers for electricity generated in CA. But the environmentalists have made it so CA cannot come close to generating enough to fill demand. So electricity is imported from other states where it is generated by burning fossil fuels. Typical CA hypocrisy.
"c. living in a city like MANHATTAN, NYC... -even if you DON'T SMOKE AT ALL...it's equivalent to "smoking TWO PACKS OF CIGARETTES A DAY..."
It sounds like you smoke two packs a day (but not tobacco).
If a manlymuppet misses out on buying 1000 shares of a stock trading over 250 dollars, how much less money does he have when the stock trades under 25 dollars?
"Shorts may ..."
You make the common long mistake that betting against Tesla is betting against future technologies. The reason to bet against Tesla is because they make a super expensive car and has miniscule market share and has lost money every quarter for many years and its stock sells for $250/share with negative earnings.
$125 K for a car that looks like a 1989 Jaguar is not quite free.
It's just one more drop in the bucket. Penney will lose but the monetary damage will probably be modest compared with their other losses every quarter. What could it be $10 million? $20 million? (It could be hundreds of millions and it wouldn't shake markit's blind faith.)
"At least I supported an effort to help the world"
Oh, you're being way too modest. You and Musk are saving all mankind as well as the planet itself.
Why don't you stop criticizing Musk the fabulous visionary. You're not fit to lick his boots. Remember there are a lot of Musk supporters who would like to meet you in person. Try redeeming yourself by investing in Tesla, Space-X, the Musk anti-gravity project or by just sending a direct contribution. Be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.
"What will be the 4th call?"
That will depend on whether or not they've started trading on the pink sheets.
An Unfair SHARE price. It's a TOUGH world you coddled YUPPIE spawn.
Who socks more? You or Bojangles? Close call.
