Frankly, 148 years "experience" means absolutely nothing. GOOG, FB, Alibaba, etc. did not exist even 20 years ago and most of what NOK does did not either. All that matters is where NOK is now and what its prospects are.
binturong13-- Sorry it is ohbabyno123 who clearly has a problem with understanding the English language and certainly knows very little about investing. Yes, I think the Priceline holders were very happy with results of their r/s. NOK does not need one now, but it was a great candidate for one last spring. Not being a dogmatic fool ( everything black and white) like ohbaby123, I still would not mind seeing some combination of a r/s and buyback to get the NOK share count down below 2 bil., but not as needed now as when NOK was $3.50 and not marginable, or able to be bought by many institutions, etc.
So what's wrong binturong13, you don't understand the English language? "tend to", or usually, means a majority of the time and NOT by any means ALL of the time. Most regular and reverse splits will not have any real affect on a company, but some can and do. A r/s by a good and strong company with prospects (like NOK was winter/spring 2013, after MSFT investment-and I have previously listed numerous reasons why a r/s then would be good for NOK), is very different than one by a company that is down because its business model is failing. A r/s will not help the later but can help the former.
ohbabyno123-----Actually YOU do not know what you are writing about. Nothing in economics/finance is black and white, always good or always bad. R/S worked very well for Priceline and Citicorp and Ferrofluidics, to mention just a few. They are not just for "down and out" companies and you show your ignorance by writing that. Your views are very simplistic and clearly you do not grasp the various and sundry reasons a r/s may be employed. Do you have a grad. degree in Economics, yes or no?
While a r/s would have been a very good idea last spring when NOK was under $3.50 (I think it would have certainly moved up sooner and we may be a bit higher now) with NOK at $8 it is not as needed and would not have as much of a positive affect on NOK. But still, a combination of a 1 for 2 r/s along with about a $8B or so share buyback and a small (to start) dividend reinstatement (I do not favor a large one time div. for many reasons) would do wonders for NOK. Would love to see NOK with an outstanding share count of sub 2B and a share price over $20 and headed up. A real blue chip!
...in just 3 months is pretty great. What fools those two are! (or are they the same idiot?) Pathetic and sad to see dorianpc post all day Thanksgiving mainly to himself. What a pathetic turd.
...makes her $10 by year end.
Well workers, unions, and bureaucrats can be pretty crazy in India. Remember a couple of years ago Tata Motors had to shut (built but never opened) a brand new plant built to make the new Nano due to farmers protests. It cost that state a lot of jobs and TTM a lot of money. Lots of corruption too.
I see the stock market at record levels under Obama. There are sure a lot of wing nuts on message boards though. Many like trend without brains or lives, who post to themselves.
Similar ignorant wing nuts like you said the same thing about JFK being a "Marxist" . But then ignorance and extremism are your currency.
No, nobody has to buy those crapolla gold coins the idiot Beck was pushing but unfortunately a lot of gullible old (and wing nut) people trust a fool like Beck and buy on his rec. How stupid are you?
....those coins he was pushing with the huge mark up that will not be above water for years, if ever. Well at least that high school educated fraud is making money even if his butt boy, chumps like you go down.
...soon. I just hope the market does not take a huge hit before Jan. - which would send NOK down for a while-so I can then take some of my NOK profits ergo effectively move the taxes into 2015.
..whom are so truly pathetic they spend all day posting their ignorance and drivel) who show that lack of class and character are just white trash and to be ignored. And the country is clearly moving away from their warped views, which must be very frustrating to them.
And the reason Cain is a Republican is because he is so ignorant. Anyone with 1/8 of a brain who has heard the man debate knows the guy is laughably dumb. I mean really dumb!. You are now in ignore but really, take your ignorant, racist politics and penny stock spam somewhere else.
mrlow40-- As one who travels the world extensively I can definitively say that you are dead wrong, and that President Obama is the most popular and respected US President since JFK. And the polls clearly show that as well. What you are is a nut case with another new alias, (but clearly no life) and now on ignore.
