...stock to go up in value? What faint praise from CS which is as bad really as Bernstein and Ferragu hammering NOK knowing that this complacent management will never do anything (like a real share buyback) that will actually move NOK up. NOK goes down so easily and has such a hard time going up. How's ERIC doing today?
...can not get out of its own way. $7.75 is a pathetic joke for a company that was well over $8 well over a year ago, was set up with great cash and IP, has a solid core business, etc. And in a strong market no less! They sell over half the company yet do not reduce the number of shares out to reflect that and just sit on cash earning essentially nothing, while keeping their junk rating. Suri should be on notice that NOK shareholders (other than the chumps-many on this MB) are losing patience and he could fired and sent to AAPL.
...$8.40 well over a year ago, so NOK is still a dog with fleas that this management has done a very poor job with its value. Seriously, all NOK has done for over a year is rally a bit, then lose most or all of that quickly, and then spend weeks clawing back up to a level that is still points below where NOK should have been long ago. NOK is a combination of "Waiting for Godot", and "The Myth of Sisyphus", starring Rodney Dangerfield, Blanche Dubois, and Little Orphan Annie signing "Tomorrow".
I don't know the answer, (probably too soon) but it is a legit question so hard to understand why someone gives you a thumbs down. I generally do not use that feature, up or down, but surmise that it would be a clown like fr3nchie or josh3xx (or one of his/her many aliases) whom take thumbs seriously, and ergo would do something petty like that. Now if you had posted something worthless like what you were having for lunch he would give you an up.
...and management apologist, butt girl, whom posts bs and hates to be called out for her bull, but I did not think they were the same clown. Now maybe so. No I am not gonok123 but I do think his question was reasonable and the fist answer by josh3x lacking, and the second one a bit angry for being shown that he, josh3x (fr3nch?) is full of it.. frenchie the board satirist??? Only if you have a very sophomoric sense of humor. Actually fr3chnie is just sad and pathetic. And a bit angry. Let's hope NOK's earnings are better than predicted and that josh3xx learns the difference between profits and revenues.
...maybe 20. And not one about NOK, not that he knows anything about the company or is anything but an apologist for feckless management.
...for the turn around. From $2 and $3 level and with all the debt and AAPL eating their lunch, NOK needed a turn around. Now it just needs half way decent management that knows what to do with the cash and company's potential. I see the big problem being Suri (a combination of Indian bureaucracy and Finnish conservatism and complacency) and NOK being a Finnish company (nice people but one of the most boring countries in the world- hello boring Nokia) so that a more dynamic company, with good management, really can not take NOK over in a buyout in order to unlock its real value. Yes, I am sorry I bought any NOK in the past year.
...wrong with this stock and at some point the apologists have to wake up and realize that management (Suri) has really done a very poor job. They have no faith in Nokia or concern for the company's real owners. They have plenty of dry powder but have not used it properly. Anyone who is happy with NOK's performance essentially since Elop left (and I was not a big fan, but MUCH better than Suri) is a fool and a chump.
noktard- I don't think Suri knows how to run a business of this size and he has proved it.
red47 (aka fr3nchie, anothermarginc , etc.)- again you are so dumb that even after being called out, you still do not grasp the use of "your" vis a vis "you're". This is 7th grade grammar! What is so hard about that for you? Your lack of basic education does indeed make your posting history more understandable.
YES, as a NOK shareholder I am just concerned about my investment making me money. Now you, without much of a life, want to stay with NOK MB forever so that you at least have something to do. But yes, as an investor I am not looking to solve the world's or Finland's problems but am looking to make money. Duh!! And NOK was given by MSFT plenty of money to make money, but under Suri they have not used it well, or made much money, (and lost share value). Fact: NOK has greatly underperformed the market for over a year. Do you know what a fact is, IDIOT!
And again I think NOK is very undervalued so buying back shares (especially when there are way too many shares out) is a good investment and shows faith in the company by management. So far Suri has not shown much faith in NOK's value, or done much to help it
AMC- And that stupoid thing and "Dance Moms" assumption are jokes, in case you don't get it.
...money on NOK in less than a year, over a year ago due to MSFT bailout. BUT since then, and despite being very well set up by MSFT, this NOK management (Suri) has totally dropped the ball. Anyone who is not a chump has to complain about how poorly NOK has done for over a year now. I have offed ideas such as a serious share buy back and if they had done that I believe NOK would be over $12 now. Think about it,they sold over half the company (revenues) and got cash which has done them no good for over a year, as they just sat on it earning little or no return. The company is essentially half the size it was but still has about the same amount of shares, and way way way too many. And they still have their junk rating despite really having great financials.
I knew exactly what NOK was doing with Siemens and thought it was a great move (Elop did that, not Suri), but the follow through, with all their cash, has been very weak. I think a lot of people called that deal; Siemens was actively looking to sell that 49 plus% and NOK was really the only practical buyer for various reasons.
I have never even watched the View (Barbara Wawa?) and you look stupid and silly (like josh3xxx) when you make those kind of assumptions about someone you really know nothing about. I'm guessing your favorite show is "Dance Moms".
I have every right to my opinion and will continue to express it. I can say as a fact that NOK has performed badly for over a year, you can just hope about tomorrow and look to the now distant past. You sound like a poorly educated person.
But it has been a record breaking market since Dec 2013 when NOK was over $8.40 and now 16 months later NOK is only $7.60. That is very poor performance in a good market. Only a real CHUMP (smithof, josh3xxx, anothermargin, et al) would be happy with how NOK shares have performed and defend its poor management, (which has to be blamed now). The point of where it was 10 years ago, or 5 or even 3 shows that you have to totally cherry pick, and pick a very narrow window (just 2013) to make Nokia a winner for over a decade. Are the Finnish people that easy to be fooled?
Can we get that train going again, that was hilarious. Still laughing!
That's one of the major problems, that he did NOT buy back anywhere near enough shares. He has just sat on tons of cash and watched NOK languish. Nor has he made any serious purchases or done anything to stop NOK from being a rag doll to be shaken by Bernstein when ever they want. How did Ferragu know that Suri would be so bad?
...and may have to be replaced as CEO. NOK has been a loser investment since he has been in charge, for all intents and purposes when Elop did the deal with MSFT and left. I too thought Suri was smart and would be good but the proof is in the pudding and Suri has failed. Up 3 cents after losing over 30 cents last week, in an up almost 300 point market says it all. Yes the NOK employees and butt girls (management apologists) will rush to his defense but we have all lost under Suri so far. Facts are facts, and share price is the undeniable fact here. Do you think josh3xx actually kisses the guy's butt or just figuratively?
No idiot, I was just pointing out how pretentious and full of bs you were listing pizzerias, as if it was your great knowledge, when any guide has that same info listed. How is it you always get it wrong and how is it you are always on the MB the same time as fr3nchie?? Did you read the BBC report, phony boy?
...pizza on Wikipedia refers to his "story" as just that, and as a "popular legend" that has been "cast in doubt". See BBC article that totally debunks lafellos little story right down to pointing out that the alleged letter from the Queen they hang (in the pizzeria they bought well after this supposed event) may be a fake. See BBC report" "Was Margarita..Pizza really named after Queen..." Also Lafello was dead WRONG in his "story' about the queen going to that bakery and indeed three pizzas were brought to the queen and she picked the one she liked. He is also wrong about it just being about the name rather than who actually made the first pizza with those 3 ingredients. Also the list of pizzerias he gives can be found in any tour guide, Fodor's etc.) etc. to Naples so what a pretentious bs artist the guy is. And yes, other pizza places in Naples do make claims to invention of Margherita pizza. But then doesn't this clown also defend the terrible performance of NOK's management and share price?
...for this terrible NOK management? Now josh3xxx thinks it is bad to want your stocks to make money and good for NOK to lose value somehow and the little girl defends NOK's poor performance for well over a year now.
just do a Google search and you will see some dispute as to origin. Only bs arrogant like you thinks differently. Really you think they are the first to make that type of pizza when it likely goes back decades before?
