...well with ALU. The way NOK was set up it should be over $12 by now.
...little. I understand that when many Uber drivers calculate the real costs of their vehicles and time and many do not make minimum wage. So yeah, I think Uber would like to screw NOK too and that bid is an insult.
I rarely do thumbs but have to agree 100% with this josh post. Buying all of ALU (unless in an near equal deal of selling HERE for around the same amount) is not a good move. You will get a big slow moving utility like company in a low margin business with high fixed costs (French/Finn labor) where have to compete with the Chinese.
Me too, but I also want a pony for xmas. No way Finland or France would allow that. I should have listened to my own advise vis a vis Suri, and what a feckless, boring company (and country), and running NOK for benefit of Finn gov. etc. and not shareholders.
...nearly 900 posts in just past 3 months and I see a few recently created fake ids for him. Really dude, GET A LIFE, outside of this MB.
...claim to be leaving this board? If only he was honest but then maybe that is why he does not have a life, just like fr3nchie. Don't be so hurt and angry josh.
There was no real share buyback, just a token one with most of those shares then rewarded to NOK execs. for their terrible performances. NOK is a joke! A bad joke, thanks Suri.
...them and Here is worth that.
..over and just end up looking silly.
...being set up so well by MSFT. Kids NOK is at $7 when it should easily be over $10, and down again today. And were is the big Here sale that was due by end of May? Everyone considers NOK a chump company and will not pay up for anything that is Nokia.
....be a disappointment as it is worth over $10B. But they should either do a deal soon or take it off the market and look to partner and/or IPO it. Also lets get the Sammy arb. wrapped up, and what the ef is holding up India except that it is still so backward?
...for the past year and a half. It couldn't have anything to do with Suri's failure as a CEO to look out for shareholders and properly utilize NOK's cash to reduce the huge share count could it?
...$8.40 well over a year ago, so NOK is still a dog with fleas that this management has done a very poor job with its value. Seriously, all NOK has done for over a year is rally a bit, then lose most or all of that quickly, and then spend weeks clawing back up to a level that is still points below where NOK should have been long ago. NOK is a combination of "Waiting for Godot", and "The Myth of Sisyphus", starring Rodney Dangerfield, Blanche Dubois, and Little Orphan Annie signing "Tomorrow".
I think most of us whom have come to the conclusion that NOK is badly run by this management, and is a chronic underperformer, do have many other investments that have done much better. But until Suri realizes that NOK should benefit its real owners (shareholders) and not be a tax and jobs program for the country of Finland, and that we can replace him with more dynamic and astute (especially in finance) leadership, then we have every right to criticize, and will continue to do so. If you want fair and honest criticism to end, get NOK soon above $10, and really $12 where it should be. Actually NOK is more like an old folks home, dreaming about its glorious distant past, but with no mojo left.
I mean that in the nicest way and sure hope I don't get on someone's ignore list or any down thumbs. Heaven forbid!
...drivel posts) expecting a huge move and here we are up a whole 3 cents. And one clown is expected at least $15B for HERE while at the same time posting that the 2016 $10 calls will be losers. Can that guy do 8th grade math?
Someone pointed out that Finland is at least as Socialist as France. And it is always Finland where this stock dives, and US markets that lead it up. Let's hope this "deal" falls apart and NOK only buys part of ALU or just sells HERE (for north of $7B) and then uses the $12B net cash and buys back shares (which should be retired but are indeed "currency" that could be used for JNPR or some reasonable buy out) to reduce outstanding to two billion. Then you would see NOK way up.
Cramer is like joshua3xxx, he is a blow hard carnival barker who just makes things up and pretends to know things. Sad and pathetic.
....bad joke. A week ago NOK hit $8.30 and Here was for sale and it looked like NOK might finally move (after over a year of dregs) out of rinse/repeat cycle. Now $7.60 and down with the market way up over 200. The ALU deals seems to be liked by half the analysts and not by the other half. The market still shows no respect or faith in Suri or NOK or even Finland. Same old NOK and unless you are a butt girl apologist it is hard to continue to have much hope in NOK.
geegaboo- The total shares should be, (I think) the NOK approx. 3.5 bil. plus .55 of that for approx. total of 5.4 bil. shares in combined company. The net cash should be about $8B plus what they get for HERE. If that is a good price, and NOK and ALU are both progressing as they appear to be doing, and then good Sammy result, then this could go higher. Strange the big near 50/50 divide of analysts. What do Canacord, and GS and the past bulls with $12 plus targets on NOK say? All this going on and todays "news" about going back into phones is really nothing, just what they are already doing with Foxcom (Foxcon?). The only real news is ALU deal, and HERE for sale.
