fuel cells are totally inefficient, the H merry-go round as they call it is self sustaining and renewable, during the 1973 oil crisis was the time to bring the H tech forward, my understanding why it was not done was Oil employed a large % of the people around the world. But that's neither here nor there, ? here is TSLA.
LOL, let me add that the tech. has been around since the 60's, Union Carbide actuality built a H city in Texas where all the public vehicles ran on H, and there were no less that 5 prototype cars running on H. The homes were supplied electricity by a H generator, stoves cooked with H gas! The concept worked so well and was so cheap to produce that it was never ever heard of again. I figure they have it on the back burners in case of another oil fiasco The end .
3h can be produced easily and cheaply, even the Iranian's can do it ;) just no big need for it over here in the USA.
H Fuel cells was never the way to go, that was some lame scientist idea, the actual way to go is a direct conversion of H from water by electrolysis which can be done on the cheap, but read previous posts to see why it never took off. I remember being at disny GM pavilion and they had H as the villain, it was portrayed as evil! LOL yeah right, go look now !
I help build a Hydrogen city in Texas; Union Carbide sponsored it.
The Public transportation ran on H, the homes were provided electricity by a Hydrogen Electric plant.
There were prototype cars running on H, pollution was nonexistence.
The only problem was the moisture produced but nobody complained as it kept the grass green.
That was in the 1970’s, what happen to the city, ask ur congressperson.
oh PS the by product of H combustion is H2O, a true and abundant source renewable energy.
That is exactly not true, i.e. the use of high-energy solar cells in the electrolysis of heavy water produces an abundant amount of H, then that H runs the super-dynamo generators, which intern are used for more electrolysis.
This green energy produces energy for whatever and is much safer than NG.
Imagine filling up your tank with water ;)
Now I know you are asking why this not in use is then, oil companies are vital to the US economy and till there is an energy calamity....
