Not totally on point but to give you an idea of who may be trading (and posting) I recently learned that many convicts, depending on crime, place of incarceration etc. are trading away. Some sit glued to the business tv and have relatives trade for them..... , but I believe some are allowed access to the internet. I learned this from a pretty smart business type recently released from a Federal Hotel (obviously not all that smart....lol). Just saying' Miami
Burn, Thanks for seeing it the right way. In contracts that can be a bad thing, but here, clearly a good thing for OPK....(How could I have doubted for one minute that we would get the best end of a deal) I must have had java deprivation when I read that....but you are always on top of things. Have a great day and keep that brain sharpened, Miami
One thing I found odd, if I read it right is that Opko needs cause to end the relationship but Tesaro does not. Miami
Burn, great info. All i can find so far is this: OPK either owns pharmas (I'm not listing them all) or has a sales presence in Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Argentina (maybe more). Combining that with the wording below when the Tesaro deal was inked:
"Under terms of the deal Opko will acquire a 10% equity (***) holding in Tesaro and could be eligible for up-front and milestone payments of up to $121 million plus double-digit sales royalties. The firms will share future profits from commercialization of licensed products in Japan, and Opko will retain an option to market the products in Latin America." I'm assuming we will be doing that PLUS...I believe BRLI may have a sales force there (Have to do further research) and there is NO MENTION of a %. Could it be that OPKO takes all the SA revenues? What are your thoughts esteemed cousin? Miami
(***) If I read correctly from Icemandios OPK's 10% has been greatly reduced to 1% or less ......
Hows does it hurt the longs as you say, "in the short term" ? I could not care less. Stocks for investors are not "in the moment" because we are long. Long
Have you looked at the headlines and the larger market at all? In their quest for cheap programing and churning "news" to garner readers, the media is creating panic and uncertainty. As I write this to my right on the screen Yahooley says ..".Prices threaten world economy." Many people (baby boomers) are in a panic and where do you pull money from first or NOT invest? SPECULATIVE equities. A mistake in my book....but what do I know? Long
Don't beat yourself up, Cuz. One reason you're a terrific poster is that you give reasons, own up, and are insightful and frequently correct and always worth reading. You have many fans here. Keep on posting, please. Miami
Dreams can come true.... : - ) and I don't think that's out of the question.
that it was founded in 2010, the same year the deal with OPKO was signed.....and though some seed money came from its principals, it received $60 million from New Enterprise Associates, the world's largest venture capital company. .... How VERY interesting........IMO Long
I'm no wizardess of Opko...especially when it comes to financials but this deal is built on milestone payments from tesoro to OPKO for various...milestones ranging from approvals, sales to events in Latin America. Icemandios and Burnaka are the best sources.....IMO Long
aart, dk, silvur, I could not agree more. Something brought me to what became OPKO because I was concerned about a older friend's macular degeneration --- and eXigencies (I think that was the name) had a product...and well you know the rest. Miami
those who have just come out of the woodwork....where were your vocalizations (OK posts) when things looked darkest? Just saying....but nonetheless, glad you are happy. : - ) Long and Strong Frost since Key.
Overall, accurate, IMO, but funny that they wait until today to publish. For longs...it's nothing new and contains the admonition of caution re if there are future revenue misses. Well, duh! I do think it's another step on the path of credibility for those who are ignorant of OPKO's immense potential. Long
there would not be FDA approval? So pre-market we're up 30 cents as I write this. Who knows what will happen today? I don't. I just find this spike amusing.....as the wiser posters on this Board (Burnaka, et al) have said....it was as close to a sure thing as you could have. It's not surprising to us longs. Marketing begins Q4. Oh....great news for chemo patients, too...less we lose sight of what's important in life. . ; - )
Rumor OR conjecture based on the article about diagnostics? Well, stranger things have happened. With OPKO artificially depressed it would be a bargain basement sale....one which I doubt many would want...... Long
in a really terrible market, what shareholders should be worried about is not OPKO IMHO Long
