This IS significant news adds real credibility. Now we need Johns Hopkins and Mayo and it will be difficult for pop uro docs to ignore 4k. Long
Icemandios, Thanks. If you can communicate with Uncle, that would be a good thing for him to add to the post to show that it is more relevant than it may seem. Miamianne
Post news about, I think, a Polish Hospital adopting 4 score. The English is so tortured I wish he had not bothered. Obviously, we are closer to news this week than we were last week.... I for one am ready. Mostly because it may spark some intelligent discussion rather than rehashed posts, new IDs, nonsense about someone named Bryan, Bizo, splat buster brown ad nauseum.... The usual stuff you have to weed through.... Sigh, Long
Dan, I wasn't on a message board in the 20th Century and I just didn't know to track SEC filings in a rapid way....it was soooo last century. But I do believe he owned a majority of Ivax when it sold. Any other long time investors correct me. Key was very interesting because he had a partner, Michael Jaharis (sp?) in addition to the shareholders. What I do know he is always in control.
While we have the Frost Museums here in Miami, when I was at the Met. Museum of Art recently in NYC I saw that Jaharis was a major donor there. (He subsequently founded and sold another biotech that developed a niacin based drug), if memory serves. I hope you realize I was in kindergarten at the time so my memory may be shakey. AND I truly was a baby investor. GL Dan. Miamianne
Can you imagine the amount of interest PF makes? I figure his buys come from his
interest alone. : - ) Miamianne
I do see some of busterbrown's vitrol on occasion for a flash. They are pathetic. This guy had a baaaaad break-up somewhere in his sad life and apparently can't figure out the market any better that he can figure out women. He's the roadkill in the highway of life I once mentioned and he lives across the Bay from PF on Black Hole Island.....Keep up the posting. We have a winner here. Miamianne
...as bad as the market is today, the biotech sector as a whole is getting trounced. It's not personal to OPKO. In fact, I wouldn't want good news for OPK on a day like this......I plan to relax and be patient. GLTA Miamianne
that's the stock market for you. If you don't want risk put it in a safe deposit box (no reward either). Having said that...do I wish my portfolio looker greener today...of course. And it will....because I am long GLTA and don't lose any sleep over this. * and who knows how longs LTS can stay green ?
Gosh a poster on Yahoo for 45 minutes ( under this name) and already complaining. But it's a fair question and I suppose we'll find out when Frost& Co want us to know. Speculation is just that. I am long.
This is not directed at the seasoned vets here....but at some of the newer owners of OPK/stocks in general. There is no benevolent despot named Frost, nor Gates, nor Buffet (not even Buffet), nor Cook etc. etc. who specifically seek to protect your interest unless they converge with his interests or plan for the future. Nor is anything promised and sometimes the best stock behaves badly. (In my case, I sold Apple at $20 and repurchased in the $60s. No crying, just a lesson. Trouble at Ivax, stock dropped @ 50%...I added.....etc.
Yes, OPKO has near term catalysts that could rocket it to the moon or cause a massive "sell on the news drop" for a time......until it recoups....or perhaps something will go amiss with one or more of those catalysts.
I am prepared for anything which is what you should be. .I am a realist but I am long and strong on Frost and OPKO, just in watch and wait mode along with everyone else. Miamianne
You know Iceman, not that I disagree with your comments...but this message Board is a democracy and democracy is a MESSY BUSINESS ......The best one can do is put those you don't want to read....on ignore....as you may have have put me on ignore....If not, best regards, Miamianne
You guys betta have a whoooooole lotta money because when a young Yakess says "Yes" to an old bull, she expects a large payday. ; - ) Miamianne
PS disappointed no one "got" my verrry clever response above...but then I am my own best audience.
on OPKO's catlysts is a "must read"....while some here are quite conversant re the pipeline, approx. timing etc., it lays it all out quite nicely. It mkes me happy to continue to be .... long
Thanks for the interesting post. . I bought in a while back because of Frost when it was based in Shanghai with electronic billboards. I knew, it was destined to be something else Frost-style.
I am a long time Frost investor who never went beyond Algebra one, yet I have made a lot of money with him. ...and know a bit about him and very little about data fusion .I went to Wiki as suggested and really barely comprehend it, if at all. BUT, it seems to me this data fusion stuff (forgive me) has applications in biotech and Frost is Mr. Biotech (I'm sure you know). I have much less stock now that the merger occured but something about this confluence has drawn me for a while and I am thinking of adding more. It's a gut feeling based on Frost experience. I have no pretense of truly understanding....but am trying. What do you think--- IDI and biotech ??? Thank you.
