I am more cautious in my optimism but I hope you are right.
And get her married to an attractive SUITOR (S)???? C'mon Chippy, C'mon Man!!!!!!!
Surely, Geron needs a bigger partner or a buyout company that has more savvy and resources in bringing Imetelstat to market. Left to Geron own devices, they chances of navigating FDA and hitting pay dirt is not that great. They have never proven themselves in the past. They were only good at burning up tons of R&D (investor monies) capital. Whether its Gilead or another strong, capable major player, the sooner the better.
or, AMGN could develop its drugs independently to achieve similar or sort of remedial elements like imetelstat and leave GERN in the dust...... all sorts of variants in developing these drugs can occur and some of the outcomes may be GERN is left struggling along while AMGN and others just fly by GERN to the production stage and GERN is still trying to get to phase III.
So you are on your ocean cruise? Up in Scandanavia? Which other city are you visiting? Goteborg, Malmo, maybe see the horseracing at Uppsala??? They have many hi tech,
futuristic buildings in Stockholm. How about a short synopsis of your observations of Stockholm et al? And check out the glassware factories. Excellent stylistic glassware.
Corruption...govt and private sector (other companies). Some of the medical community would rather treat symptoms and never ever CURE the disease....because they make more money off of the patients and insurance companies. Think about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back in.... the Saddle Again - Aerosmith
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back in the saddle again
Ridin' into town alone
By the light of the moon
I'm looking for ol Sukie Jones
She crazy horse saloon
Barkeep gimme a drink
That's when she caught my eye
She turned to give me a wink
That make a grown man cry
I'm back in the saddle again
THIS TIME, MAKE IT COUNT, GERN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like an end around the damn fricken FDA idiots. Geron-Mayo did the right thing and keep moving forward with the development of their drug. Example: FDA once approved diabetic meds that later had to be banned due to serious heart failures in diabetic patients while at same time FDA is an obstruction to R&D that are advancing breakthroughs like Imetelstat. GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!
At least, they're in the news...whether positive or not...I have reservations. They need more FIREPOWER. Put more ROCKET BOOSTER to their development of imetelstat. Slow trickling of news won't cut it. Increased frequency of good, solid news that demonstrate material advancement toward marketing the product. Need more than one remaining batch of clinical patients at Mayo...need like a handful of major clinical hospitals testing patients on the drug and putting forth positive results continually with data submitted to FDA promptly to accelerate pace towards approval in Phase III.
GERN captures the attention of big pharma/biotech suitor and gets sold. GERN insiders get a bonus for their stocks. Public investor hopefully now gets a bonafide, strong, experienced company to bring drug to market. Or, GERN keeps struggling along at developing multi-location clinical studies besides Mayo and may or may not get drug to market.....and in the meanwhile, another company beats GERN to the punch and brings a similar drug to mkt, taking mkt share of sales/revenues. Johnny come lately GERN finally brings drug to mkt but lost opportunity due to most sales have been generated by First Mover. There are other scenarios....but....
pending default by other debt-ridden nations and a bunch of our states, notably Californication...how would all that impact the lowly GERN stuck in a morass. If US defaults on its debt (biggest net debtor nation now) and its USD collapses, its bond mkt takes a hit....how will GERN fare?????
1. Stronger capital, more capable mgmt, and results-driven
2. Better reputation in the industry and with fda
3. More competency in developing marketable drugs
In the annals of history, were there no invention, product, or creation that looked promising but failed???
Were there any better mousetrap created but it still failed???
Were there instances where a drug was created that seemed to work but never saw the daylight, i.e. never became manufactured for mass distribution???
My memory bank runs dry. But I do not like the price action and the lengthy period of FDA hold. It concerns me....the price action....its disturbing.
Nice and sunny since Sunday July 20...high humidity in the 80s, moderated to more comfortable mid-80s in midweek and sunny. Lots of patients visiting doctors in Gonda, Mayo, and Hilton buildings (all connected). Huge waiting areas with some having puters available for patients to do their email, web browse while waiting for being called. Multiple TVs available for viewing too. Mass production blood draw and urine sample bay area in Subway floor. Large cafeteria with discounted prices for food. Very competent physicians but the mix seems to be towards younger physicians which I suspect is due to retirement of baby boomer physicians
and hiring of younger replacements. Grand piano in sub lobby area has guest pianists playing all sorts of tune. Huge business office with many windows to service patients' billing/payment.
WHERE IS THE SENSE OF URGENCY? THERE SHOULD BE MULTIPLE CLINICAL STUDIES BY MULTIPLE RESPECTED CLINICS THROUGHOUT THE USA BY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL REPLICATING THE GOOD RESULTS OF MAYO. THE SLOW MO PLAYOUT ALLOWS COMPETITION TO POSSIBLY BEAT GERN TO THE PUNCH. SPEED IT UP...........................MGMT!!!!!!! LIGHTS, CAMERAS, ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
