When the world gets crazy like we are now and risks increase, the “smart money” heads for safety, places like “cashless vending”?

    Back up the truck lemmings!

You really think the “smart money” jumped on this profitless risky venture fiasco in a time of great uncertainty?

Remember we talked about what happened to vending operators and USAT in the last big recession?

8M US vending machines became 6M

Buildings become vacant, machines pulled out.

Not much need for cashless when the machines are sitting in your warehouse.

PS. I went 90% cash a year ago… things are going to get much worse thanks to “Hope and Change”

    December 7, 2009

“YOUR COMPANY HAS IN PLACE OPERATIONAL AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES TO ACHIEVE PROFITABILITY FOR THE QUARTER ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2010”

“Your Board and management team have taken proactive steps to reduce costs and improve profit margins. This has resulted in a 28% reduction in operating expenses during the past fiscal year, and we are targeting further cost reductions. As of the end of the last fiscal quarter, the Company had $16.7 million in cash, and today is virtually debt free. We expect 2010 to be a year of substantial growth as we continue to implement strategic initiatives to increase revenues and reduce costs. As a result, we expect each quarter to build towards profitability and we anticipate generating positive net income for the quarter ending December 31, 2010.”

    George R. Jensen, Jr.
    Chief Executive Officer

“USAT rolled out digital advertising through its ePort Interactive platform and digital touch-screen cashless device focusing on Apple Pay on 35 select machines in specific urban locations with a high density of iPhone users.”

“35 SELECT machines” handpicked by the same group who uses the top 30% for “industry studies”???

“specific urban locations with a high density of iPhone users”

What was the incremental costs to deploy this technology?

Did the incremental revenues cover the incremental costs?

How would the average operator determine high density iPhone areas?

What is the consumer reaction when they stray from high density iPhone areas and the service is not available?

This is a JOKE!!! No one is walking around thinking they would eat a candy bar if only they could pay for it on an iPhone 6.

Again, more macro level trends they claim will catapult USAT. More pie in the sky and please ignore the last 100+ announcements of past trends that did not materialize into sales.

AGAIN… PUBLISH THE APPLEPAY TRANSACTION NUMBERS!!!

If you are making a factual claim and have the data to back it, then PUBLISH IT!!!

    This “research” is very simple:

    Survey Apple iPhone 6 users:

Q1: How much do you currently spend weekly at vending machines?

Q2: How much would you spend if ApplePay were available?

    DONE!

Again they are showing select numbers on growth of one payment method while not acknowledging cannibalization of current cash and credit sales!

ApplePay up 26% Cash and Credit DOWN 26% Cheer!!!???

Nilson Report's prediction that one-half of the eight million vending machines in the US will be credit card enabled by 2009

  • michael_moore_is_fat michael_moore_is_fat Jun 23, 2016 12:28 PM Flag

… said Mr. Jensen, "The Fed's findings strengthen recent predictions from the Kiplinger Report that the emergence of wireless, cashless technology will double vending industry sales to $70 billion by 2010, and the Nilson Report's prediction that one-half of the eight million vending machines in the US will be credit card enabled by 2009."

  • 1. It has taken USAT 20+ years and $225M+ to get 5% penetration in “cashless vending”???
    2. 20+ year profitless, cash burning record- 1 or 2 quarters of a tiny profit but negative cash flows?
    3. CEO fired due to inappropriate posts on message board- TEX?
    4. Excess executive compensation- in 2004 the top 3 execs took home $5M+,more than the company’s total revenues that year?
    5. Lawsuit by their biggest customer- Coke and $900K paid out?
    6. Decades of “big deal” press releases that never materialized- Federal Government, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Pepsico, Dr. Pepper, MEI, taxi cabs, Sodexo, and many more?
    7. 15 year old cashless-only merchant service, no complete solution- no VMS?
    8. Several energy management and other “solutions” that apparently went nowhere- energy miser, e-Suds, Business Express, and many more?
    9. Had to file with SEC… “significant deficiencies in both the design and operating effectiveness of the company’s internal control over financial reporting”?
    10. Lines of credit, sale / leaseback schemes, and preferred shares with “dividend payable” of $12M+?
    11. Past shareholder lawsuits?
    12. Quoting statistics from your top 30% of machines and NOT DISCLOSING the remaining 70% of machines actually experience MUCH WORSE results is ethical, honest, or legal?
    13. 20 years and $225M+ invested to create a $148M market cap?
    14. Endlessly quoting macro level trends and data that somehow never sync with reality… said Mr.

Indexes affect Apple but not USAT?

YES!!! Everyone knows there are multiple Russell Indexes and everyone knows Apple and USAT are not in the same index.

And you still don’t get the point!

If I were you, I would just stop now and quit embarrassing myself further.

I would love to respond but I’m having trouble coming up with an equally stupid response to a very stupid question.

Why do pumpers continually feel the need to further demonstrate and document their ignorance of various topics being discussed?

NEW YORK (Reuters) 6/0/16 - After dropping more than $200 billion in market capitalization in one year, Apple shares could fall further as they are set to lose their weighting and be reclassified in the annual reconstitution of the widely followed Russell indexes.

Once the average of stocks on the S&P 500 drop to $.50/share, you’ll have a valid comparison!

  • "USAT Finds that Apple Pay Messaging Drives 26 Percent Increase in Overall Transactions; Consumer Usage Increases with Prominent POS Advertising"

Another USAT “industry study”… I wonder what will come out in the details? Another 70/30 deception?

Do you really think there is such a person as a “paid basher”? I doubt it. Likewise I doubt there are “paid idiots” out there on your side. Everyone is here of their own free will, no financial compensation required.

The 10K lost connects were the last of that “major customer” who is no longer a customer.

I stated the true trend on cancellations.
