No company, especially one the likes of Sony will promise to productize a development project - the operative phrase in the above wording is "aims to". Second, a development effort with Microvision is perhaps one of dozens of development ideas with no guarantees on the back end. It could be weeks or months before we get a contract, or none at all. In short, the only way to know is to read a PR released by the company, announcing a commercial contract. Meanwhile, speculation keeps the saliva flowing. Still hoping and Wishin.
I saw that commercial too, looks like the time for HUD is fast approaching, however, since it's been so hard to decipher whose tech is inside a given video, it's going to be near impossible to tell whose tech is in the Benz. I'm Wishin it's MVIS Inside.
Thanks vwn! So, from just looking at the photos/videos of the Sony cube, one cannot tell whether the Cube has MVIS Inside, however, I've read all your other posts providing other reasons why you believe it is, so no need to repeat. Can't wait to hear from you from Germany. Appreciate all your research and comments.
In light of the lengthy discussion regarding Sony's cube, I present this topic to the board for discussion. In an earlier thread with VWN, Gerffreyporter touched on this issue, and I want to bring it to the forefront so we are all on the same page.
Is it true that the attribute of infinite focus is not related solely to Microvision's tech, but rather to the use of lasers? Is it not also true that TI's DLP can use lasers? By extension then, does it mean that if DLP used lasers, their projector would also have infinite focus, and if other techs used lasers they would share this advantage as well?
If the above statements aren't true, then we may be able to infer fairly confidently that Sony's cube has MVIS Inside.
If the above statements are true, it's easy to see why we cannot easily whose tech Sony is using in the cube.
And finally, if other techs can also have infinite focus, can we remind ourselves of the advantages of our (MVIS) tech over our competitors'?
I've waited nearly 16 years, I can wait another few weeks and months. This has got to be the year that makes or breaks us. We will soon find out the reason second-half ramp in production. We should soon find out whether UPS will order more modules. If the smart phone company is serious about releasing a product in 2015, we will find out by early next year whether they are serious about PicoP inside. As for Sony, it appears there's only one way to be sure: from the horse's mouth, i.e. our CEO Stallion Alex Tokman.
As I type this post, I see the price recover slightly. Here's to 2015, the year of the PicoP.
Vote- I asked this on another discussion thread: how confident do you feel in your assertion that it's MVIS inside?
Great comments, especially the one about affordability in poorer countries. How sure do you feel the cube is MVIS inside?
Well, we don't know conclusively that it isn't MVIS in the cube. In any event, it may be too soon to expect any product revenue from Sony this year, although AT did say they were effectively done 100% on their deliverable. I'm still hopeful we will get more info on the ramp up in 2H this year, not to mention the possibility of further developments from UPS or even HUD. Would've been nice to have more clarify on Sony, but we'll just have to keep waiting, and hoping and wishing :-)
If the announcements today relate to MVIS, we should have seen some gains already, even though no contract has been announced. We're going to have to wait for a MVIS PR, and you know how long that can take!
46,000 Shares?!!! Wow! Good luck, all we need is one teeny, weeny bit of news and you'll be a rich man. Good luck, you have plenty of skin in this game.
"unethical religious rhetoric", hmmm, are you an "oxy"-moron? Don't be a basher, try and reason with people, it works much better, try it, you'll see.
:-) Truthfully, I'm not sure I can, like I said, I don't pretend to understand TA, but fwiw, Scootman's assertions seemed to match the day's price action, especially his posts around the $2.12 mark.
aww, you sore loser, despite your hatred of everything Microvision, the stock keeps going up when you and your TG_trading aliases least expect it. See you tomorrow, and remember to bring your own lube. Bye now.
I'm not usually a believer in TA, but you seem to be doing quite well. I'd rather have you on our side, so thanks for the good work.
A contract with Sony would be the best news I've had in nearly 20 years. Failing that, a contract with UPS will be the next best thing. A HUD contract would be high up on the list. Any news and this thing shoots up toward $5 before you can say Bob's-your-uncle! Any day now, my friends, any day now.
