their EMR continues to gain traction and they have announced some larger clients lately
they have a lock on th rev cycle market where their comp would love too...that plays well to their biz model as they only sell their EMR to their client base.
the ceo is by far the most dynamic in the industry, can you even name another - that is the point, they have given the industry visibility, being a bush has zero to do with them growing faster than others in the industry or hitting their numbers.
I have no idea what you are referrring too, but ATHN was upgraded this morning by another analyst....
I recommend you get in now, rev cycle is hot and MDRX will have to increase its presence in this market to retain the misys PM base
from the note.....
We are upgrading shares of athenahealth to Buy from Hold and establishing a $35 target price based on 44x our 2009 EPS estimate.
The company's recent strong 3Q08 results give us confidence in the company's ability to sustain 30% revenue growth and faster EPS growth driven by margin expansion. Increasing our 2008 and 2009 revenue and EPS estimates to $137 million and $179 million and $0.50 and $0.80, respectively
Believe 5% decline in shares Friday not related to its results but likely selling pressure from a distribution made by one its VCs. We are viewing pressure as a result of this as a buying opportunity.
Valuation and our target multiple likely to be perceived as rich and aggressive in the current market environment. However, relative to growth we don't view valuation as being unreasonable. Valuation is always a challenge with high growth stories. Our belief is as long as athena can sustain high growth rates the shares can sustain a high multiple. Looking out over the next 12 months, we are confident in the company's ability to continue to exhibit strong growth.
u are a moron short
they had a record Q....their model is the future in the space ass...why do you think everyone wants to copy it
the new admin loves their tech and the ceo is a breathe of fresh air in a stagnant industry...trust me
combined with misys... but that would legacy licenses, one doc to ATHN is far more valuable than a one off sale of a license - make sense? it is almost all recurring for ATHN....
if MDRX had ATHN's biz model where all of the docs are on one system and they took monthly subscription from each and than could resell in, like they will try to do with misys, than i would agree with you 100% - that just is not that case. Hence why ATHN still trades at 50X 2008 earnings, even in this market....get it?
lots of anger for a guy that says he helps run a health system - posting mid day my friend? TW user my butt..this merger is a slow train wreck. i understand if you are in fact a user and shelled out serious $$ for a system that has taken an act of God to get work but please understand the market is changing on HCIT companies in large part due to ATHN and their biz model
unlike this piece of sh*t company that has missed 8 Qs in a row, ATHN delivers and has better PR/positioning...dont be angry just except it
remember when the street had buys on MDRX in the high 20s/low 30s...GT lies and misses, at least Bush backs his PR/hype up with Fing results
none of the analysts/Street are looking at what is an expensive, not relevant P/E but rather trade on ATHN's DCF based on a 90% recurring rev model
in fact, most analysts have already raised estimates on today's news
ATHN system actually helps docs against fraud
these guys are heavily regulated already, fraud is the least of my worries
comapny beats what are already high expectations
growing even faster than anticipated
almost no debt and y/y net income increase of 640%
incoming friendly administration
unique product vs. industry....
have no idea why this would trade down like this, but I loaded up at 25, like i did at 22 a few weeks ago. I don't think the street trades on the P/E of this stock, but then again I have no idea what they trade off of on ATHN
on a macro level, these guys are positioned well for a long play, volume is huge today....
they beat again, great numbers
had nice things to say about Obama admin/HIT - where is GT on all of this?
hey moron, thought you said this would be below 20 a few weeks ago?
docs need ATHN more than ever, if you are going to short, at least know the business dynamics/industry
the article also mentions athenahealth and Quality systems (Nextgen) - two companies that are growing much faster, aren't facing serious integration challenges not to mention product challenges. This will turn into a real horse race in the coming year or two.
on Oct 24th you would missed out on a stock that has gone up 6.51 since then and a great buying opp on the best eHealth stock in the market.
i hope folks on this board see their game....they are not shorts but ATHN competitors that know nothing about this company or industry.
so what if they beat next week- where does that leave you? how exposed are you on your price point? you have been shorting this thing, based on your posts, since it came out - given its high price pre lock up and then a few months after lock up I am confused where you made your killing?
please explain to me exactly how you go about shorting this stock. i suspect you don't even own a share and are a competitor, if not, please explain.
the play on this stock is classic - buy on the dips - any time it goes below 25 you have to seriously look at buying. Until they blow a Q i have no reason to do otherwise. unlike you i can explain exactly how i have made money on this stock - when i bought, at what price and when i sold and what price
