Lol, you have to know when the thieves are knocking at the door. ZIOP has been in my portfolio for many a moon. I have incredible patience and pay attention to news that's public knowledge . Not saying that I don't know those in the 'know' at times ....but you need to let things cook no matter how dicey it gets.

    Vin, thanks for the nod.

Happy holidays to you and yours

    Hello Beegz !

No, a while back I emailed him several times but not a word. Sadly, I have a feeling that something bad happened to him. Hope I am wrong on that gut feeling.

Happy Holiday to you and yours !

I am liking MNK more than QCOR ..... though the Q was good to all. OT : I know MHO is currently hot on a stock I've had for many a moon ... ZIOP. Another one I am liking lately is OSUR. Just a FWIW.

    Happy Holiday to all.

we call it "Synthetic Immunology" and as such obviously it just a tremendous time to be focused on what we believe is going to be a generational change in therapeutics...."

What areas can they contribute in?

RJ Kirk: "But you are right ....manufacturing, off target toxicity issues - that really goes to the ability to regulate the expression of the targeting protein among other issues and we feel very well equipped to make a solid contribution in this area and we look forward to doing so"

Another analyst asked about potential deal partners - domestic vs international and.....

RJ Kirk said "In general we are in talks with more multinational companies than we ever have been".... I think we said in the last quarter our deal que was heavily weighted in favor of discussions with larger companies and I would say its certainly even more true today".

    FROM THE PR:

Mr. Kirk continued, "Looking forward, considering the significant transactions upon which we currently are engaged, the programmatic progress being made under our existing collaborations and our team's steady performance improvements, we are optimistic and confident that we have the opportunity of making all involved with Intrexon proud of their association with the company. No one at Intrexon takes this opportunity lightly so we are committed to execute commensurately

Critically important narrowing of "significant transactions" mentioned in PR....RJ Kirk on CAR T partnering "...We eluded in PR to significant transactions underway and I think we will just leave it ...with that....

Analyst Question: "Are you able to talk about your plans around CAR T...obviously locked up with ZIopharm but are you able to comment about kind of commercialization plans and how you think about partnering of that technology"

RJ Kirk: "Yeah....thank you for the question but the short answer is....no. As you know, its a field of intense interest around the world - we eluded to in the press release to "significant transactions underway" and I think we will just leave it...we will just leave the statement with that".

RobCos comment: This is a critically important narrowing of "significant transactions" (not "DISCUSSIONS" but "TRANSACTIONS") mentioned in PR (copied at bottom of this post) - during the call he clearly indicated these "significant transactions UNDERWAY" are in the CAR - T area . TRANSACTIONS UNDERWAY!

    _______________________________________________________________________________________

Wells Fargo Question: "Nice quarter...all my questions were just answered but let me add one final question - with respect to CAR therapy - manufacturing seems to be a big issue - can you guys talk a little aboutyour ability to manufacture allogeneic approach vs autologous and shed some light on that.

RJ Kirk: Not really, for the reasons I just eluded to Daryl. We have not made a secret of the fact that we think we have a lot of contributions to make in this filed and they are in the areas that....the one you just named and in other areas as well in this field."We view CAR T as an extremely important - I think ultimately historic transition in the field of therapeutics...we think ultimately we will be viewed as the 1st exemplar of a new generation of therapeutics...since no one else has named it we will be bold enough to name it -

  • And now I will share a tidbit from another poster that is well worth the read:

Re: The proof is in the pudding

People who have followed RJ Kirk through his New River, Scios, King Pharma, Clinical Data and Intrexon successes know he is a very ethical man who does what he says he is going to do and is not a liar...here is what he said 2 wks ago...

RJ Kirk confirmed publicly that he believe XON's CAR T technology can solve off target toxicity issues all others have, can regulate expression of targeting protein & solve huge cost/mfg issues (their allogeneic approach vs others autologous approach)....

This is the first time we have heard this publicly. If true this would be HUGE....I have been investing in biotech for a long time and have followed Kirk for many yrs - imo he does not lie and is one of the most ethical small biotech CEO's I have ever encountered...So while some think all XON is is IL-12, I have always maintained the earlier stage things are even more important. I have said the second half of the yr we would start getting a glimpse of this - we did last week and will get more in early Dec. So unless you think RJ Kirk is lying about his publicly traded company on a recorded webcast with transcripts (those who know RJ and his General Counsel for yrs Caesar know he would never do that) , then you should believe that this is about to get VERY VERY interesting. (remember his quote below also "we think ultimately we will be viewed as the 1st exemplar of a new generation of therapeutics" ).See light blue/turquoise highlights below:

RJ Kirk "We view CAR T as an extremely important-ultimately historic transition in...therapeutics...we think we will be viewed as the 1st exemplar of a new generation of therapeutics...we call it "Synthetic Immunology"....full quote ---

Nah, they just stole your shares is all they did. Anyone who took the time to look at the presentation held on to their shares. Panic and short sellers played the price fiddle. The 'OMG the sky is falling' worked perfectly ...taking out stops and tossing panic sellers who do the knee jerk reaction .

    C'est la vie.

As someone else said, that is an old headline. What is posted on the fly on the wall this a.m. is :

Mallinckrodt says Questcor received subpoena from FTC in June
Mallinckrodt (MNK) disclosed in its quarterly regulatory filing that on June 11, Questcor received a subpoena and Civil Investigative Demand from the Federal Trade Commission seeking documentary materials and information regarding the FTC’s investigation into whether Questcor’s acquisition of certain rights to develop, market, manufacture, distribute, sell and commercialize Synacthen Depot from Novartis (NVS) violates the antitrust laws.

Lol. You better never invest in JAZZ, GPRO, TSLA, GOOG , etc ! You might need to search for a sleeper stock that gains 25 cents a week.

I disagree with some of what you said. It wasn't a good day for many stocks ..... the ones that got smacked got hit hard and a scant few were up nicely. Most that had gains were small gains just like the market trend 20 years ago. Back then you'd be happy with a 50 cent move in a day.

It looked to be a good day based on the futures but then the political shenanigans set in. JAZZ had buyers lined up based on those futures since they did have good earnings and guided higher for next Q. I don't think expectations were higher. If they were, you would have seen a lower open to begin with. You took advantage of the spike which came directly from a good report. Good news is good news no matter how you try to slice it. Market conditions are the issue , not JAZZ. Don't forget that some who have a nice profit sell into a rally and go to cash ....... fear based move a majority of the time.

Hats off to you for your winning trade. I'm hanging in . Been in for many years so I've seen this a million times.

If you take a look around you'll see that many issues 'look weak'. Market does not like the political scene (confusion ahead/bickering) and some head for safe havens (like bonds). Let the dust settle .

JAZZ is volatile. If you haven't been in it for a while this is pretty typical behavior on a bad day . Most bios are getting smacked. Best thing to do is go for a walk and do nothing....unless you want to take a profit (like I'm sure many have done to secure their bottom line) . Loads of damage done across the board but I've bought a few issues .

Not yet. I am semi retired but work for myself so it's not drudgery , Currently busy caring for aging parents (we are talking 90 yrs old plus). I'm lucky to have a great family of team players and the flexibility to keep the parents out of harms way (nursing homes , hospitals etc).

You bet tx. Always a wild card to be in these bio issues but the further you are 'in the money' the more you let it run (or pull back). Key is to hang in there. JAZZ has let investors down once or twice in many years.....can't recall. But, having said that, that is a small part of the bigger picture. GL and good fortune.
