Yes....I just found this, too.......well......Yahoo did it for me.....but, maybe there is a little glow....in the dark...that will get brighter and brighter and brighter...........seems sort of revolutionary....if it works well and there is third party reimbursements........it could disrupt the diagnosis of these cancers..........I continue to "suspect" that the skin cancer will be the most difficult market as Docs like to think they can "eyeball" a mole and say "yea or nay"......I hope I am wrong on that....with J and J showing some interest, that could be huge.......IMO, if the reliability on dx of lung or gastro is high, this will be excellent as it would avoid many unnecessary biopsies......

Yes......I think comments were made on the last cc that led me to believe that management believed that some announcement(s) would be made in the second quarter......3 more business days......but, a "watched pot never boils"......It will come when it is ready.......the price action was a little odd today......o.k. with me as long at it recovers to above 5.10 without news........in the next 2 or 3 days.......if news, will depend on the news.....but, I expect a gradual increase in share price over the next 12 months.......5 cents a week over 1 year would be very nice.....

Mo: Thanks for sharing.....If I were responsible for selecting a p.o.c. test........which I am not........there is no contest, is there? This should be a huge selling point and Alere has to be looking to something else.......they should rename their test to "Undetermined".......

WOW!!! Thank you.....that is huge, IMO.........this tells me that they are going to need something "different".....may be easier to buy it than to develop it..........I have not checked in the last year or so, but they used to have a lot of cash.......$$15.00/share for Cemi would take 1/3rd of their cash, approx.........

Cap: I don't challenge your assertion in the use of the word "dud", but could you offer some flesh for the bone? I like that, but would like to read some data or analysis on that......I still think that Alere is a candidate to acquire Chembio at some future time........there were some big time management changes at Alere a year ago or so....as I recall......I used to have quite a bit of shares in Alere, but got out after being battered ....of course the share price went up shortly after I sold and I think that was when the management changes were announced.....my timing was awful......but, my point is, if anyone at Alere got their nose out of shape over a rejected behind the scenes overture or over the change in marketing relationship with Chembio......they will or should have by now gotten over it.........but, if theirs is a "dud", I would like to read about it....

Mo: You may know what the "standard" test(s) is for febrile, malaria and ebola, presently. If so, what is the cost of running those....presumably they are laboratory based....meaning...a blood draw, moving the sample to the lab, running the test, etc.......If the cost of doing those is "X", and they are slower, less efficacious, etc.....would any highly specific p.o.c. test (e.g. DPP) priced at 90% of "X"...or maybe even 110% of "X", be well received? I do not know these things, but maybe the price/test would have a better margin than presumed??????????

Totally agree......except, that I think the CE is "much".......it is, if nothing else, validation.......but is more than that, too.......there is a big market in Europe and do not think that they will overlook this science and apparent cost savings using Cemi....

I do not know technical charting.....however......one or two weeks of unusual volume is like one or two weeks of heavy rain in April being used to predict a great soybean crop in September......too much can happen in the mean time...........I continue to believe that this little company, with no debt and great science, will progress only on the release of good news and/or the expectation of good news in the near future......I think that the market is expecting good news.....and I think that the market will get good news........and I think that once the products are being sold and revenues ramp up and profits ramp up, then the suitors will come calling.......In the meantime, I will enjoy the lift and hold and hold and hold.

Yes......the move over the last 3 months is of a magnitude that tells me that the market believes that much good news is to come out this year.........we will need revenue and earnings to start to move up meaningfully to get higher and higher values.................

Of course you are never wrong, in early April you were touting Apple....buy buy buy...will be 144.....etc....now you pan it..........no one is ever wrong if they talk out of both sides of their mouths........or....maybe they are always wrong if they talk out of both sides of their mouths........

it is a "big nothing' referring to music streaming........I am not a fan of O'Leary, so all I can say is "it takes one to know one"..........I fully believe that the folks at Apple know a great deal more than does Mr. O'Leary, or any other pundit for that matter, about what is in the best near term and long term interest of this company........I am a long term holder of Apple.

  • I expect/hope for more news this month......nice price movement and am anxious to see what this is at the end of the year......On ebola, there was a recent t.v. report on that disease....my takeaway was that the virus is omnipresent and outbreaks should be expected into the future.....it is not over......even more reason to have effective and inexpensive p.o.c. diagnostics..........Malaria and Dengue should/could also be huge........

Well....3 things......1. There were huge abuses in the big bank community. Regardless of your politics, I am pleased that our justice department has been aggressive......on both foreign and domestic banks, alike. 2. Don't look now, but the huge international banks are trimming their operations....this should tell all of us that they see their future differently now than they did 5 years ago.......huge layoffs and sales of marginal operations will happen over the next few years. 3. If the Fed is firm with them, they are the author of their own book of troubles......we need strong banks, but we need honest banks......don't think for a minute that their excesses of the 2001 to 2008 time period did not have a big price paid by you, me and the guy next door.

Chart, as usual, your posts are hugely helpful to those of us who do not know where to obtain such detailed information. Thank you for sharing.......I always feel better about this particular "roll of the dice".......time will tell, but the market for these technologies is obviously huge........I have always been concerned about 2 issues with Aura, even if it is highly effective: 1, that many docs trust their "eye ball" to screen skin lesions and it would be difficult to dissuade them from that if plan B included a very expensive device such as Aura; 2, third party reimbursement which is directly related to 1.........they would buy Aura if they could get reimbursed for its use.

Why am I not surprised??.........by the way, I think that the largest trade was about 35,800 shares.....cannot imagine the motivation of anyone selling shares at 4.60 in the last few seconds, or at anytime on a day like this.....

hmmm...Rick, I don't know the numbers.........while these unfortunate "boat people" are in the news a great deal, I seriously doubt that they represent even a fraction of 1% of all of the Europeans that would be proper subjects for DPP testing. Therefore, I doubt that their presence would have any real impact on sales.......I recall being in Italy one time (been there 10 times) ...but on one trip went into a pharmacy......my memory may be foggy...and even if not "foggy", it could be wrong......but I remember having the impression that they did a lot of "clinic" stuff, much like the big chains are now doing, here.....vaccines, etc.......seems to me that selling these p.o.c. tests through the pharmacies with the test being administered right there........would be a great way to distribute a lot of tests in a short period of time......also, while Europe seems to be very "urban" in the sense that the vast majority of folk live in or near larger cities with good hospital and clinic choices, I have no doubt that there are many many in small villages and rural areas where medical care, etc. is not convenient.........well, time will tell, and I view this as a big step for Cemi on various levels.......
