Yes....but what a nice reprise from all the mental midget diatribe that took place over the last year......I think and hope that posters are just waiting to see what happens........the news on the european permission a few days ago did not have much effect on s.p........but, time will tell and I am optimistic on this one.....

So True.............I am always amazed when posters write indicating that other posters are trying to or actually effecting share price by the postings......that the bears or shorts are driving the s.p. down.....or the bulls are driving the s.p. up.................this is like believing that the bending trees create the wind............there is no cause and effect..........

  • Seems to me if you own one you are bullish on both.....according to the major holders listed as of 12/31/13, Leon Cooperman, still has a huge stake. This fellow is a pretty astute investor and he was buying when the Barrons trashing was taking place last Spring and Summer.

I have only read a "report" of the JPM piece, not the JPM piece, itself. If reported accurately, JPM believes that with increased capes, the coverage of the distribution is thin. They also say that capex has been reduced because of that coverage issue and they say that the concern will be reduced if assets are sold. If assets are sold, look for a very nice bump in this share price. Seems cheap now and I would not expect any reduction of distributions. I recall that LINE said that distributions would be increased once the BRY merger had been digested...sometime this year as I recall.......others may have a better memory on that than I. I will hold but everyone should do their own dd.

I hold 50 august 3 dollar strike...........I suspect that the Apr 5 calls with high volume shows that buyers believe that news is coming in the short term that will impact the share price to the upside.............I think I read that Meet is to introduce some new "chat" service in March.....maybe that is it........on the other hand, maybe someone's 4 year old was watching his father place orders; learned how to do it; and, hit the buy button 160 times............

    Consider the source
    When you weigh the discourse
And accept it as false or as truth
I totally discount extremist's rash statements
When concerned with matters of bourse

Those claiming great knowledge with no reason to know
Should be shunned by reasonable folk
Hot air is cheap and often does blow
The comments are less helpful than joke

Chart: if by "the bears" you mean posters on this m.b......I think that you, and others for that matter, must way overestimate the influence anyone on an m.b. has simply from that role......possible, I suppose, that a huge shareholder or someone who knows a member of the BOD is active on this m.b., but I doubt it..........to think that bears on an m.b. could "get their guy"....or that bulls on an m.b. could influence the BOD, makes me shudder and I do not believe that it is possible......very much like believing that the moving willow tree creates the wind or a horn on a car makes it run better. Sorry, can't buy into that thought at all.

Totally agree.......you will recall I posted more than once about the "stars being aligned"........and I do not oppose a sale for a good price, but I am not prepared to say, as I do not know, what that is......but I do know that the BOD could have consummated...or recommended to the shareholders...a sale 2 years ago if they believed it to be a good deal even if LS did not........and opposed it.....my only point is.....a positive one........yes, the new CEO may be the right guy to negotiate a sale.....but, he does not have the final word on that.........I do expect a sale of the company at some point.......it is in the acquirer's interest that happen sooner than later as the value could ramp up quickly......IMO, shareholders will be better rewarded 2 years from now, than now........the more companies interested in Chembio the more leverage the BOD has in arriving at a good deal......so, i am happy to have a CEO with that experience......that does not mean it will be sold cheaply.......time will tell......

Chart: A CEO does not, as you know, have the power to sell a company. We have a poison pill as I recall. The present value of Chembio is a completely different "kettle of fish" than any other company, including Axis-Shield. ALR is very acquisitive and hard at the bargaining table by all reports. But, the value of Chembio is capable of calculation and will increase as the Clia waiver comes through and progress is made in the world markets we are just beginning to tap.

    LS a new poster

I see it this way, too, except for the Carl Icahn part. I don't know LS; have never talked with him: do not know his age or inclination at this part of his life; but, the rest of what you say makes sense to me. I don't see burned bridges and do not believe that he was canned. I am not the kind of person to worry too much about the past......he is not the CEO, now....another is.......I am optimistic................I think that, to a certain extent, what a company like Chembio does in the future will be determined by so many factors that the personality in charge, while important, is not the deciding factor........Chembio will do well under any qualified CEO............IMO...........The consulting agreement is good....nice transition........Will Mexico buy more???? Will Malaysia ramp up??? Will Europe ramp up??? Will the FDA grant Clia????? These are decisions that a CEO will not make.....only the purchasers and the FDA will make therm....The CEO must place the company in the position to market the products; make the sales IF THERE ARE BUYERS....and produce the products, ETC........ So, I get frustrated by all of the posters who denigrate a person like LS.....not only because I think he did all that he can do and was expected to do........but, because he is criticized for decisions made by others not in his control......and the denigrators simply do not and can not know what they are talking about.....the dynamics of any organization like CHEMBIO....with all the moving parts.....the confidentiality of the negotiations with ALERE ...and then criticize for not having an agreement with ALR when the criticizer does not know what was on the table.......is simply ignorant and I do not tolerate ignorance well.....sorry for the rant, but this m.b. is sinking fast....

  • When I read....not carefully because it is too painful.....all of the banter about the new CEO and whether he is a growth guy or a turnaround guy or a buy out guy...........I am so amazed.......and astounded.....a BOD has spent months in the search process for a new CEO......whether a poster, here, believes him to be a growth guy...or a turnaround guy....or a buy out guy......does not amount to a pinch of snot.................he is the CEO.....get over it!!!!!! or sell your stock ...............if you have any.............IMHO....this company will succeed based on its science......and whether it can grow sales........and get the CLIA waiver............The new CEO was apparently chosen because he has history in the POC market and has a good track record.........the success of the company will not depend on his pedigree....although that helps.......the success will depend on revenue and earnings increases......more sales in more markets.........whether that happens will depend more on the decisions of others than on the new CEO....whether the FDA grants the Clia waiver.......whether the new relationship in Malaysia will pan out.....whether sales will increase in Europe, Africa and Mexico.....these factors will depend on the decisions of health care professionals in those parts of the world as much as anything that goes on in the CEOs office........I am not minimizing the importance of this office and the contribution he can/will make, but to harangue and harangue this matter out of all context with childish name calling and silly exaggeration shows the deterioration of the m.b............too bad.............
