The web-based TV service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and other devices is expected to deliver a lightweight package of about 25 channels for between $30 to $40 per month. The report claimed that the service will be available in September.

Dug...Jason locked in the date to sell months in advance ...avoids any conflict of insider info.
He still has tons of shares and options for future purchase.
So he's very much in the game with shares and options on CRUS.

Look for Cirrus audio chip inside the new Applt TV next generation box to be announced in June.
New version will have SIRI the old box had no audio.

Some Pro's and Con's of Cloud Computing from a business perspective.

    In summary
    Pros

Lower upfront costs and reduced infrastructure costs.
    Easy to grow your applications.
Scale up or down at short notice.
Only pay for what you use.
    Everything managed under SLAs.
Overall environmental benefit (lower carbon emissions) of many users efficiently sharing large systems. (But see the box below.)
    Cons

Higher ongoing operating costs. Could cloud systems work out more expensive?
Greater dependency on service providers. Can you get problems resolved quickly, even with SLAs?
Risk of being locked into proprietary or vendor-recommended systems? How easily can you migrate to another system or service provider if you need to?
What happens if your supplier suddenly decides to stop supporting a product or system you've come to depend on?
Potential privacy and security risks of putting valuable data on someone else's system in an unknown location?
If lots of people migrate to the cloud, where they're no longer free to develop neat and whizzy new things, what does that imply for the future development of the Internet?
Dependency on a reliable Internet connection.

  • Update – 7th Feb 2015

The new Samsung 10nm Exynos 7X octa-core with configuration (litte.Big.BIGGER..) HMP (heterogeneous multi processing) would be the most efficient solution from the Samsung till now. It is rumoured that Samsung is testing such module. And this new module would have the capability to support 4K display. The speciality of this Exynos 546X HMP could be the newest construction (little.Big.BIGGER..) with the 8 different cores in increasing order of their performance. And HMP module would choose the core as per the need. If there would be need of single core, then single core would be activated if two needed then two and if 7 needed then 7 and if 8 then 8 so on. Moreover, the new processor is inspired with the cyclone technology found in the Apple A8 chip found in iPhone 6. A8 is better than latest Qualcomm 810 because A8 can handle 6 instruction per cycle whereas Qualcomm solution is limited with 3 instruction per cycle. So, you can imagine the performance of 10NM scale manufactured Exynos 7X little.Big.BIGGER HMP cyclone technology processor would give performance as two Exynos octa-core processor of present generations are working together.

  • Update: 28th March, 2015

We already told that Samsung is working on the 10nm manufactured chipset for the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note 5, already Samsung have proved that it is best with its chip as with the chipset of Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung entered at the level of 14NM manufacturing scale intel chipset and now the next plan of Samsung could even surprise the chip giant intel as for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 we would have the world’s first 10Nm scale manufactured chip for an Android device. Other than this, if you are expecting set of stereo speakers (front) in the next Note then you won’t be wrong because in the sound only, Samsung is behind to HTC. So, it’s the time to bang other brands, and Samsung won’t disappoint its fans.

    Cwb88.... Coming soon

In a careless leak on its U.S. website, Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S6 Active is a real device, although it still hasn’t been made official. The phone popped up as an option for Samsung Plus points reward system. Listed amongst already released devices, such as the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge, this indicates the S6 Active may be about to be announced.
At the time of writing on May 15, the listing is still live on Samsung’s website.

The only real changes Samsung will possibly make to the original S6 design all have to do with making it more durable. The Galaxy S6 Active is said to measure 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8mm, making it slightly bulkier than the regular S6, and the battery will get a boost up to 3500mAh. Reports haven’t mentioned water resistance, but seeing as it’s the Active variant, that’s essentially a given.

    IPad Pro for enterprise customer

Looking... The current content in the iPhone 6 from Cirrus is about $3.00 and est margins are about 46-48 percent.

What I am expecting in the iPhone 6S from Cirrus is with the new enhanced 55nm chip is about $4 to $5 in content and still the same 46-48 percent margin.

Now do the math on KGI analyst volume est (below) of the iPhone 6S just for this year 2015.
With an extra $1-2 in content you get a boost in revenue of between $80 to $180 million from Apple alone.
Note the 55nm platform is not limited to Apple alone. So expect a chip based on this design to be sold to others ..like Samsung, etc. looking to take advantage of improved features...

Apple iPhone 6S....KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo,
It’s expected that mass production will start in mid-to-late August. Total shipments will be 80-90mn in 2015, with a 2:1 ratio of 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models

CRUS 55nm audio chip with expanded functions will get a higher ASP and I expect CRUS will maintain their profit margins in the high 40's percent.

Look for Apple iPad Pro to take it's slice of the PC market that sells 300 million units annually.
CRUS should do well with the iPad Pro using it's enhanced 55nm audio chip.

  • The vast majority of the app opportunities that have been identified as part of the Apple and IBM partnership are specifically for iPad. In addition to IBM, we are working closely with more than two dozen other leading business software and solution providers including Box, Docusign, Microstrategy, Revel and ServiceMax to bring a broad range of innovative mobile solutions to more customers on iPad.

Just how big this effort is may be suggested by a recent blog from one of those unnamed partners, Appirio, which said in part that:

We will also be working with Apple to expand the global community of highly qualified iOS developers. Today, Appirio has nearly 2,000 active iOS developers and has plans to increase that number to more than 20,000 within the next year - especially in the emerging markets where Apple devices are making even greater traction. We believe our rapidly growing community of 240,000+ designers, developers and data scientists in China and India, along with half a million more outside those countries, offer untapped potential not only for Apple, but for our collective customers.

This one company is planning to increase ten-fold the number of its iOS software developers, mostly in emerging markets. Maybe I impress too easily, but I'm impressed by this one company's planned contribution to Apple's ecosystem.

How do we quantify the long-term cash flows that Apple will gain from this one effort, which is just one of many on behalf of iOS? I don't think we can do so with any precision. I simply want my capital to be part of this growth effort.

Appirio's comments, which Apple is not trumpeting, indicate that Apple is expanding in many directions at once, given how many companies it is working with to expand the reach of iOS in multiple markets.

The investor said his team believes that Apple is poised to enter and "dominate" two new product categories: The company will enter television next year, and the automobile market by 2020, he said.

These new categories would have a combined addressable market of $2.2 trillion, he said, adding that many investors do not appear to be factoring this growth into current valuations.

  • mk54321 mk54321 May 18, 2015 9:38 PM Flag

CRUS could be part of Apple entry into TV sets and also Apple entry into Automotive .
But CRUS is much more than just Apple with the Wolfson acquisition.

Fiber...FYI The Internet of Things is a much bigger deal for SWKS.
All devices will need to communicate , pass data, etc.
For CRUS a smaller subset of Internet of Things devices will need an audio interface.
