...what if the formula does work,...

I was not referring to the huge drop, but the one from $17 to $14 around Jan, 1996, and comparing the chart to current. At that time sp took off like a rocket to $46. As for the big move up in the mid to late 90s, I imagine the overall stock market was helpful, since it also tripled in that span, and like RAD, dropped like a rock around 2000. However, the market recovered, but RAD lagged for years. I believe they got in huge debt, and bad management played a part. What do you know bout RAD back then?

yes, and, when a lot of positives come together, combustion can occur. I checked the RAD chart back in the 90s, and noticed the current chart looks a lot like the RAD of then. In early 96 , after a big move up, there was a big dip, like we had this year, but then it suddenly recovered and within a couple of years the sp more than tripled to around $46. A similar scenerio today would take sp to around $25. I am glad to be on the inside instead of outside looking in. glta

    High Risk Reward

Always willing to discuss stocks, esp. biotech. From about 15 years of extensive experience, I feel somewhat qualified, hopefully, have learned something thru my experience. My first point is dont put down ETF, just check IBB 5 year return, or better yet 2 year, dont think your plan would be anywhere near it. The beauty of it is they have a lot in the maturing bios, and they are the best fast growers, since their risk has pretty much been taken out. Like others say, the fault with your plan is there is not much chance of a lottery winner, but a much better chance of lottery loers, meaning some of those $1,000 investments would nearly evaporate. For individual bios, some suggestions I have, dont fall in love with any one stock, find ones that have a good non-cancer product that has no or little current treatment (ACAD 2 years ago), look for bonifide ones with products/cash/potential that are beaten down for not much reason (ARRY, TEAR) , read boards and find some knowlegible trustworthy who do lots of DD, you will find it will save you a lot of time, and that they are nuch better than Cramer, (Mike C. on this board good example) Most little biotechs exist for little more than supporting a few of their key people, so dont jump on Pie in the Sky dreams, One can easily make great money in biotechs, the main key to remember is to take money off ats they double and triple, which they often do, but to make much, u will need to ichange to maybe 4 or 5 at $2,000 to $2500 each, good luck, ps I would think that NVIV might really be one of the best bets for huge gains of any u have, if can afford, may be worth investing a little more in it.

    What happened with ED drug?

    by mofisher22 Dec 24, 2014 11:15 PM

bet he is scratching his head on that one? If it droppedfrom 30 to 3 on all that good news, hopefully it will drop no more than that on some bad news. Lets see now, 1/10th of 30 was 3, so 1/10th of 3 is .30 cents So, say they had 5,000 shares at $30, worth $150,000, not bad, one could do something nice in retirement with that. But, then, they were holding out for more, like a million bucks, so they held and dreamed. Now, with just a whiff of bad news, the 5,000 shares is worth 30 cents, or $1500. Man, they will be lucky to afford an above ground swimming pool with that paltry amount. Course, then, if they hold it could get worse, drop another 10 fold, would be 3 cents, or $150, whoa, then it will be lights out, with maybe blowing that wad on a dinner with drinks at Longhorn steakhouse. But, I can speak from experience in obesity pill battles, won a few, lost a few, but had a biggy, rode 20,000 ARNA from $1.90 to $10 in about 6 months on their approval process, took $160,000 away, put in an IN GROUND pool with WATERFALL, and then stashed the rest in retirement acct., but seriously longs here, good luck. If I find half of the good things you say are true, I may load up in the $2s

so, why has sp dropped 10 fold?

  • Or some drug they had besides diet drug? Hard to believe the drop from 30 to 3, though most folks knew this drug would never get off the ground due to fears of too many side effects.

trust me, from someone who has lost a lot of money over the past 8 to 10 years due to his bashing articles. The fact is , a lot of folks must be listening, because the cause and effect is pretty obvious.Who knows, when the price gets as low as they want it to go, and they have bought the shares of lots of scared retail folks, maybe they will turn it back up north. Their timing was pretty smart, right on the backs of the big biotech beat down yesterday.

I have also been here, off and on, since 2000. Besides the favorable climate now for drug stores, the savior for RAD was the opp. to re do debt at such a favorable low interest, otherwise, it would have been a killer.

Why did TEAR go from $10 to $2 in 2014?

Thanks for your response. I know what you mean about stocks getting run up, then beaten down. I jumped in here last week, appears to be a lot more upside than downside to me. I actually often invest in unfairly beaten down stocks quite a bit, a great one was RAD at $4.75 a few months back.

Possible 2015 catalysts with approximate dates?

guys, I , like am sure many others, have appreciated all the info that has been contributed. Looking at the info, am I correct in assuming that at least the next 6 months holds only potential positive news? What, as a worst case scenerio, could occur in that time? I have been in a lot of bio techs over the years, and have been burned a few times, guess I am just wanting more positive reinforcement for my mind.

Lets give Ace boy casey and bruno a few minutes to enjoy their breakfast of sour grapes, cause u know yheir pain is gonna come back really bad at the opening bell. By the way, casey, how about using the 2 year Bull Market, in which RAD sp has risen from $2 to $7, a triple and a half, not bad for 2 years in my opinion, .
