horse, last year, I believe it was March, I made $17,000 in one day on ISR. I have been looking at it, I think it may be getting ready for another move up.

thanks, Andre. At the time, both ARRY and ATRS were hot, both turned cool for a couple years, but at that time, ARRY had a huge pipeline in phase 1 and 2. Now, it has advanced, and they got lucky getting 2 drugs back from Novartis. I feel very confident in it, after it moves sideways a while, I think it goes higher. I would encourage you to check out EXEL, one of those cases where a stock gets unfairly punished, but just my thinking. I am always open to new ideas, ironic, a guy suggested STXS on this thread yesterday, I had never heard of it, turns out they have a device used in treating irregular heartbeat/A Fib, which I suffer from. It looked good, I bought some, it is moving up nicely today. You never know where you are going to stumble on something.

spike, it is quite ironic that you posted this info. I have suffered thru Irrg hearbeat/A Fib for 10 years. Most people have no idea the magnitude of this health problem. Hopefully they can sell the product. /Since I have a vested interest, i bought in, will continue to watch and hopefully add. Thanks for the heads up.

  • I would love to buy it. I did find some oil land in LA. and TX. that was selling their minerals at a huge discount, so at this time, I am buying it. It produces oil, a commodity, like farm land produces. The best thing about oil is it is the most needed single commodity in the world, and it is selling at half price, and in many cases, if you buy ind. companies, even for less. Let me know of any good farm land selling for half price or less. glta

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • Please let me know. It produces commodities, like west Texas, OK., and other states do. All are very much needed, and the supply goes up and down. I missed out on the Miss. delta farm land at $200 back in the 60s, it is I guess 4 or 5 K now, but it is nice to buy Texas/OK oil land at aroundf 25% percent of value. Yes, when you buy the oil companies with the leases, you buy the land. .

Great, would love to buy in .40 to .50 cent range, that way I could avg down, and then profits would be even larger in a year or 2. In stocks, it is all about dollar cost averaging, I do not think HNSN is going away, and an betting it goes over $1, and much higher.

just curious, why would I get a red thumb for announcing good news?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • I am an old farmer, I recall when good Missouri/Arkansas delta farm land sold for $200 back in the 60s. In the next 60 years, it has gone up and down, now it goes for around $5,000 an acre. It produces rice, cotton, soy beans, wheat, which are commodities, of which the price also goes up and down. At the same time, land in many states produces oil, also a commodity. Oil, like crops, is something that is going to continue to grow in need as the world develops. If farm land in the delta dropped to $2500 an acre, i imagine many people would grab it. Likewise, if companies have oil in the ground, the value is not erased, at least until you sell it. No doubt, these oil companies are not ran by dummies, they know to hold their product until price goes up. Also, they knew to hedge some profits, just like farmers do. In my opinion, load up now, or last week, like I did, and continue to add if oil goes either up or down. I think you will be rewarded either way, as long as you hold for a year or more.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

thanks for the info, but I think most people think differently. I dont understand why some people think they know more, and prove by shorting. Why not just join the crowd and load up? Reminds me of 2009 when folks on LVS board were calling for BK at $3, then it went to $50 within 2 years.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • I imagine the news out tonight will move the sp nicely tomorrow. AH looks great. I just happened on this stock about 2 pm today on an article about good stocks to buy under $10. Anyone have any idea on what to expect in coming weeks?

again, to me those analysts upgrades and down grades are often pretty suspecious, I think they also are often done after the fact, but, yes, they can and do impact a stocks value.

That is pretty much how I often feel, one cant just #$%$ the stats, however, I do feel this is a screaming buy at these prices. just too much good info to keep it down, in mt opinion. In recent weeks I have bought a basket of small oil stocks, figuring if I buy near bottom, could be some great returns. I bought HK, EXXI, SD, GST, HERO, and today GTE. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Hello guys, No, Pharmpal, I missed APT, and also IBIO on that run up, had to be fast in and out on that one. Was sort of like ISR last March or so, thankfully I was in that, I actually just checked it for first time in months, it may be getting ripe for a pop. Whogo, the answer is sort of and yes to your questions. Hopefully I have learned from some of my mistakes over the years in investing, as you know, if a person is disciplined at all, it can be pretty easy to make money in biotechs, especially when they are in season, which I find to be Dec thru March. Buy low, sell high, sell the run ups, etc. , I know you do a good job of keeping a level head, hopefully this time around I will also, I actually jumped into several small oil stocks recently, though many are saying it goes lower. They are up big today. any thoughts on oil?

Stop losses cleared - weak hands out

I have accounts with Scottrade and Fidelity, unless they have changed, I am not allowed to do stop loss orders on OTC stocks. Do most brokerages allow it? Actually, for me, it is probably best, I think they should call them stop gains, since they often seem to dip down just enough to execute, then pop right back up.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • well, I recognize several posters from way back. I was in love with ATRS for years, but split up around a year ago. Actually severed ties with all biotechs until a few months ago. As usual, when I get in them, I go a little overboard. Have had good success in recent weeks with NVIV and ARRY, anyone in them? I am also in EXEL, ACAD, OPK, THLD, IDRA, ALQA, LXRX, thinking about getting back in SYN, which was great for me a year ago. Just touching base, always like to learn new idea if anyone has any to offer. One more thing, any one here know anything about IBIO? It is one of those that pops big, then drops, but is supposed to have great prospects, but of course, we have heard that from a lot of stocks. glta

  • An article yesterday mentioned GTE as a very cheap oil stock, and rferenced the data. From Yahoo Finance, it shows rev of $670 million, which is $2.37 per share. Shows $372 million in cash and zero debt, and also says it is 67% owned by institutions. The data is very impressive, and to me confirms the positive article. Any longs here have any thoughts?
