There is nothing but upside regardless of what they report. This is easy money. The miss this quarter, buy more. They have the next 6 months of product releases, dividends and purchases ahead. Those with bolls will do well.
WP8 is not reliant on Nokia. Surface is ready in the event that happens and besides, Nokia can still produce phones in bankruptcy mode. Did american stop flying in bankruptcy? "No". They just got rid of the equity, bad labor contracts (for nokia nsn and good will for maps) and moved on to profitability.
You play with fire when you play with stocks like this. Apple may be down 40%, but they are no where near this scenario.
If that were true I would buy back in. Look at debt my friend. 18 month ago they were at cash value and I had to buy, but then they went to debt market 2 more times to ensure their equity holders demise.
Elop looks to be taking a page out of American Airlines playbook. Beef up the business, obligate the business to 150 new planes and then 30 days later.....Bankruptcy
You know nothing about valuation. Declining earnings versus no earnings. Massive debt versus zero debt. Dividend 0% versus 2.3%. These are not made up, but fact based math.
As strange as it sounds, some companies prefer to head into bankruptcy. That will be the case should Nokia not turn things around. There will be no buyout with it's current overhang of units and employees.
It will file bankruptcy and pay back the bond holders by selling the parts. That is more feasible than a panned break up. No one wants nsn so they cannot break the company up. the only way to do it is bankruptcy. If you say that is not possible, Take a look at some recent bankrupt companies that get a fresh start at the expense of share holders.
They have co-branded several phones. They CEO of verizon in an interview in 2010 actual said it was a mistake. The play at the time was that hardware was useless and a give away as they were useless without the wireless system. They felt their only competition was wifi. They never saw several things comign at them. Apple subsidies coming was the biggest.
Hahahah. You are something else. Thank you for the laugh today. I hope you do not run a company or make any meaningful decisions that impact peoples lives outside your own.
I bet someone does, but out of bankruptcy where these bag holder will get nothing. Nokia makes great phones, if they did not have mounds of debt and employee liablity someone would buy. Msft will buy them, but not in the open market. Only shot is if nsn is spun off.
Hahahah. You are something else. Thank you for the laugh today. I hope you do not run a company or make any meaningful decisions that impact peoples lives outside your own.
You've seen 6 and they Have been trying to sell these for 2 years now. I am going to wait this out too and cannot wait to see where we are in 2 more years. Bet I see 12 someday.
Apple will probably face slowing sales at 35 million phones in a quarter. That should wake of the investment community. They will see that lumia at 6 million phones is a company to fear? Percentage growth is a nice try, but percentage lose on feature phones is equally important then. Profit margins are even more important.
Will the bleeding stop? Sure, there is not blood left so of course it will stop eventually. Dumb statement.
Lumia phones are great. The problem is the are equivalently great. ie...there is 6 other companies doing the same thing. The problem is lumia has not track record. Motorola build a great phone too, but if not for goog they would not exist. HTC sold 13 million phones last quarter on the highend and they are going out of business. Nokia is not special.
You are clueless. 6 million is a start but they are on year two. Might i remind you how long it took everyone else to go from zero to 6 million, not two years. Dude, HTC who is going out of business sold 13.2 million in a quarter. Wake up.
Still blaming shorts for your poor investment decisions. In general it does not have a cash burn problem because the mounted up some debt and diluted your equity. Did I not tell you this a year ago. Start listening.
The lumia sales are good, but really not great. 4 million phones wold wide? Apple sold that just at verizon. Hell Bbry is going to do that easily too. It s all bad
I've seen 2 in 6 months. Same thing happened when the Palm Pre was released. I kept thinking this is a great phone, then I never notice a single person with one. The Palm Pre event in 2009 was huge and everyone knew apple was in trouble. Oddly, pre sold 2 million after launch and well the rest is history.
You would be better served to spend the next 2 qrts in a stock with a sizable safety net. Nokia might get back to $3.80 on new product hype but that is as good as it gets. Apple about to add another 30 billion to the 140 they aready have. that is a safety net.
You should have waited until they reported. Guess what Nokia loses their pass, as Msft and goog did just fine.
Right now apple resembles Nokia when it was trading at 1.80 last year. I would buy the heck of it and enjoy the easy money. Just don't stick in there hoping it goes back to $700 like the idiots on this board thing Nokia is going back to $10. There is easy money to be made if you can do simple valuation.
But you do the same thing when the stock is up. No logic or true valuation, just a lot of hopping and begging to get your investment back. There are insane pumpers on this board that only. They will quote some analyst that no on has hear of or add a valuation of the companys parts so extreme no logic can be found. Fair is fair.
I believe you mean longs that gave the heck up after years of loses.
