Because next year they'll have 200 billion they aren't using then 250 billion then 300...etc. the cash pile is growing fast. Give the cash to the companies owners directly or buy back shares so we own more of the company. There's a reason google and MS don't keep this much cash on hand. It's unnecessary.
MS has a lot less cash on the books. Maybe they should give a special div of $100 so they can be worth more like MS. The cash on hand is doing nothing for the share price.
Don't thank me, thank Gene Munster. He did the math for the gross margin and if you watched the AH price it was going up as he was talking. I'm always disappointed when he doesn't ask about the iTV because it provides people with jokes for weeks.
As soon as they said that gross margins were flat despite increased deferrals, the stock bounced. Without the increased deferral margins were up.
It was because of the increased profits ex dividends as discussed here.
I was thinking about buying this stock but if their hopes for growth are pinned on streaming, they're in big trouble. There's simply no reason to use them. I've seen them a few places (the app) but I simply don't see any reason why a person would sign up for yet another service and attach their credit card to it. They charge the same $6 for a new release movie in HD that everyone else does. If they're not competing on price then they aren't competing because it's much easier to just play the movie VOD and have the cable company bill you in your next statement. Then of course there's VUDU. They stream 1080p and 5.1 surround sound. You can even get movies in 3d from them. They attach to ultraviolet which means you can have your UV library accessible through their app, something Red Box doesn't have. If they cost the same as Red Box streaming and people already have an account with them, why would someone chose to buy through Red Box?
I'm not trying to be a huge downer here but I don't see how OUTR is going to convince people that they're the go to company for streaming services. I won't even mention Netflix or Amazon because most people interested in streaming would already have one of those as well and if it's Amazon they likely already have a credit card attached to the account making the buying process seamless.
The 5s is sold out, the 5c is not. Look at Apple's website, the 5c can be ordered and shipped in 24hrs while the 5s won't be shipped until Oct if ordered now. I don't think they expected this demand for the 5s.
So, does your trading account show any shares left? Mine doesn't because I sold last year.
