Holy #$%$ I come here on occasion and you're here every time. Don't you have anything else in your life than this message board? This is really sad.
Buying back about 15% of the float at the current price point and if the stock goes lower they can buy even more.
It's horrible when 3,000 phones sold is huge news. They're going to continue bleeding money until they're bankrupt. 3k phones is NOTHING.
That's idiotic. If shares were $45 each then they would be taken over by Buffet or some other large investment firm as the cash on hand would immediately pay the company's acquisition cost back 3 fold.
Market is down. AAPL fell a lot in the last half year or so. AAPL is a great safe haven buy at this price during a down market. AAPL is a safe haven till at least the mid 500's.
I have AAPL stock. I do not short stocks. I'm here only because this (BBRY's downfall) interests me. It will be a lesson in business text books in a decade from now.
Look, 3,000 phones is NOT good news. These sales #'s are not going to make the company profitable. The references to apple sales is just that, a reference to show that these sales numbers are miniscule and that this is considered news for BBRY does indeed go to show it's market position.
Look, they don't have to get Apple or Android numbers but they have to get to the point where a few thousand phones sold isn't big news for the WSJ to report on or they'll never return to profitability.
One last thing, I realize my posts come across as someone that WANTS them to fail but it's more a matter of me being blunt in my assertion that they are failing and will eventually collapse. As a consumer, I think more competition is a good thing and a duopoly is bad but BBRY doesn't seem to be pulling itself out of this pit they dug for themselves. Keep in mind that the phones are really new still and these sales numbers are going to be the BEST that they'll get until they release another (better) hardware/software revision. In other words, you're going to see sales taper off and as that happens hope that the company will have more revenue will fall along with the stock price.
GL all you guys that own this thing but I wouldn't touch it.
Oh geez, here I was thinking they were losing market cap because of the $1.23 a share loss.
To put this another way, Apple is selling 5,700 iPhones EVERY HOUR. Why is 3,000 BBRY's sold news? Is it because they don't sell any phones?
BBRY is dead. Almost no one wants it. The very fact that 3000 phones sold is somehow news goes to show how pathetic the company's sales are. Apple is selling 50 million iPhones a year. That's 137,000 iPhones sold A DAY. No one would report Apple selling 3k phones to a company. This is a symptom of the downfall of Blackberry and if it this is the best they've got then they're already dead.
They've only sold 1 million z10's. Apple sells that many iPhones in a week (7days). Game over.
A whopping 1 million phones sold. What's that I smell? BANKRUPTCY by end of decade. GG NOOB
I agree it could fall further. How much further I don't know, would have to be a psychic to know that. The earnings could destroy a person shorting the stock. It's way too risky of a gamble for me at least. Apple has been so quiet that no one knows what will happen. They could easily announce what they're doing with the cash or that earnings were pretty good. They didnt warn that earnings might be a miss or anything and the stock is reacting like it already happened.
Does it matter? Don't start a short position in AAPL right before earnings when it's already down 40%. That's a REALLY bad idea. The risk/reward ratio is insanely against you at this point.
