Wow, you are such a genius.
Based on what? Can you give us a valuation since you seem to know so much? Seems they are growing both Rev and EPS so what do you see that others do not?
You have no idea what you are talking about.
up..based on momentum. That seems to dominate the market these days, at least short term. I do think the fundamentals are improving too, which might lead to long term upward movement.
moron
you are an idiot
you are an idiot
I'm not sure what shorts here say. I just know I wouldn't put a dime in this stock. The fundamentals are not even close to good. People are paying 15-20 years out on earnings. Right now earnings are basically non-existant. I don't see how this adds up. The have already spent tons of money on infrastructure, which has been the main argument for years now. Why aren't they making money at this point?
I'm neither long or short in this stock
Right...since we are just now getting back to where the economy was 6 years ago? There is this thing called Time Value of Money, which means that while we are back to where we were, we lost 5+ years of growth in the process. The sad thing is, the economy still isn't in great shape. Health Insurance rates are about to soar with obama care. Some will go up as much as 126%. Even the worst recessions have only lasted 2.5 years, and we just recently got back to where we were in 2007. So his economy is pretty sad.
So I did a little digging on Morningstar the ave 5 yr PE is right at 15. If the EPS is about $1.41 that gives a valuation of about $21. I know there is more to it than that, but that is at least a starting point.
I sure hope so, I would probably sell quickly and take my gains.
This stock is so over-priced its unbelievable. One day it will come crashing down HARD
I understand that, i'm looking for fundamentals behind this analysis. Analysts are wrong 50% of the time. I wanting the info to look at myself. I'm averaged in at $16.
can anyone give a decent valuation for this stock, or point me to one someone already has done. Looks like the EPS for the next fiscal year compared to a PE of 20 would send this stock much higher. What should be considered along these lines. Does anyone know the full year EPS for 2013?
Behind? what world do you live in. Their older products are still better than other people's newest ones. Samsung is the only one who as come close, and I still chose my iPhone 3GS over the SG III. My wife still has hers. Its a nice phone, but just not as easy to use as an iPhone.
They have a great line of computers that have grown to a significant market share. The also have a major portion of the 15-25 market in smartphones that use or want to use their infrastructure. They are doing just fine, don't be fooled by the idiocy of investors. The company is the strongest in the world.
They are already laughing, because people are so short sighted and stupid. They don't even need to introduce new products, only update old ones and they would still be a money making machine. How many times has coke come out with a new product? They don't have to often. People like what they already offer.
why would cook get fired? The company is doing very well, the stock price only reflects the stupidity of investors. A company can't grow EPS at 70%+ for 5 years + and just keep doing it. Do you even understand the significance of those numbers? I'm pretty sure most people do not. The exponential growth power of Apple over the past few years has been tremendous. Now people are freaking out because they only grow by small amounts? What idiots. They don't realize that Apple's Rev and EPS is at incredible levels compared to 2 years ago. They could sustain numbers around where they are now for years go come, and still be one of the most powerful companies in the world.
just be patient, people are crazy. They are coming out with ridiculous valuations, like David Trainer's today at $240 based on how amazing Apple's return on capital is. Its such a messed up theory its ridiculous. Their ROC is 271% well above everyone else, so he thinks it will eventually drop to 50% and the stock price will too. Strangely enough apple's assets in liquidation are worth almost $350/shr. So this makes pretty much no sense. Its the kind of thing long term investors have to deal with. Just imagine what everyone was saying when this stock went from $200 down to $78....I bought at $80 a few years back and still haven't sold. Hold on.
Accept that they still have amazing revenue and EPS despite not having a new product in a pretty long time. All the negativity is overhyped. They have the best cashflow in the world, and the company is massive. They could sell all their assets and disperse $350/share (which would be insane, but it shows how strong they really are). So basically the EPS of $40 or so is producing a stock price of $80 above their assets. People can keep trying to be negative on this stock, but I am pretty sure that those who are patient will do very well in this stock. The irrationality will end at some point, and people will realize that Apple is doing very well, and worth more than a PE of 10.
