When we got to $25 earlier in the year it was $5 bucks away from my EXIT point FOREVER ~ Now I'm wondering if this Ex-Canroy piece of sh_t doesn't end up the way of Harvest Energy...?...MGMT and the BOD tired of beating their heads against the wall and sell it off to some foreign outfit for pennies on the dollar and keep their jobs to boot ~ This has a very bad smell to me of Deja Vu ~ Going down hard ~

  • New York-listed Nordic is ready to pay $65m each for the 158,000-dwt vessels, investors are told.

Hansson said in a statement: "This is an important step forward for Nordic American.

"By adding two more ships, we increase the dividend capacity and bolster our earnings potential.

“We believe that our solid balance sheet as well as our well-defined and transparent operating model are elements supporting the competitive position of the company."

Delivery of the NAT vessels is pencilled in for the third quarter of 2016 and the first quarter of 2017.

NAT will take its fleet to 24 vessels with the contract, having been largely absent from the newbuilding scene following the financial crisis.

Of its 22 trading suezmaxes, only three were built in the past five years, while 10 were launched in the 1990s.

NAT is joining shipowners including John Fredriksen, Wilbur Ross, John Angelicoussis and Idan Ofer in placing suezmax newbuildings this year.

More than 40 tankers have been added to the sector’s backlog in 2014, after years of owners showing restraint.

The deals have come as the market shows signs of recovery with rates reaching the best levels since 2010, the year of the last orders boom in the sector.

Sungdong has been one of the main beneficiaries of the renewed interest, grabbing a quarter of the new suezmaxes placed this year.

Ross, Ofer and CM Lemos are among the owners to have penned suezmaxes at the yard in 2014.

Ex CanRoy = Not Worth Sh_t ~ Remember Harvest Energy Trust (HTE) ~ MGMT drove it into the ground and then sold it on the cheap to the Koreans and somehow hoodwinked KNOC to let them keep their worthless jobs ~ This has a similar smell ~ I'm long but this ship is sinking fast ~

  • Every morning for the past week plus we've opened high only to see the pps retreat and rarely holding onto those early gains (and some of those days those early gains were significant) ~ Sure was nice to see a huge gain materialize and then hold thru the close today (up 2.79) ~ ER report due out next week...

BDI has been up and Spot in now north of $26k per day ~ We've got 6 or 7 vessels on spot so they're earning good money and as I recall 3 on charter ~ Newbuilds from FRNT are starting the first of the year and then the GO fleet hits the books probably in March ~ Think about that dividend and cash flow if spot rates stay high going forward ~ You can look forward to a $12 to $15 pps stock price and a .50 center in my opinion if that scenario holds thru next year ~ Upcoming Q will show an increase but probably nothing to write home about ~ Might see a .25 center though ` GLTA!

As per the GO website (and I'm sure its on the VLCCF site as well) that a special meeting will be held sometime in Dec 2014 or Jan 2015 to vote on the merger (and of course it will go through as JF has controlling interest of both companies) and the link up is expected shortly there-after ~ I'd expect to see "The Golden Ocean Group" trading on NASDAQ come no later than Apr of 2015 ~
