Bain and TPG reportedly eyeing Yahoo!

MB, surely you remember my rants against him when he moved into Yahoo, and installed his own fiefdom a few years back, about the time I stopped wasting any more money in call options in this turkey. Actually, it was after the Jack Ma taking Alipay out of Alibaba fiasco that I was already pessimistic about the prospects here. I suspect Jack Ma is not quite on the up-and-up either. Probably a lot more dirt to come out on both Ma, and certainly Loeb, and all his cronies in the future, if someone has the access and guts to investigate. Risky business wth the wealth these people have. Hope you're doing well, figure I'm heading to Texas come Monday or Tuesday. Looking for new work and a real home ... been on the road for much of my life .. and really tired of winters in the North. Perhaps I'll be singing a different tune come summer when that brutal Texas heat comes in. Would prefer to be back in California, but the cost of living and clogged "freeways" again? Not so sure. St. Pete and Mobile are other considerations, and still fond of Chicago up here. Actually, Detroit is doing well, with many positives, but just seems too familiar once one has gotten around a bit again. Ahhh ... to make a good living again in Japan!

Hope all goes well with you.

Tottie, just do a Google search on Dan Loeb and Ashley Madison. ..Oh sorry ... I gues a Yahoo search might also turn up the hypocrisy of Loeb bashing the Clintons, not that I'm fans of them either.

Levchin - conscience? He took all he could and ran before the cops showed up, which one could only hope happens one day when the last donut shop closes. Rampant theft by Loeb, Mayer, Wilson, and all the usual members and spouses of a certain "Tribe," which one will always be censored for if you dare mention it by name.

LOL You must have found Bravo's playbook as Chief Yahoo Pumper. Sure, they are all valid, if remote possibilities. The problem at Yahoo is simply that it's a has-been tech company, with little to no relevant new technologies and user base. Do you ever hear young people talk about Yahoo? I'm almost sure many hardly even bother ever coming here? This company really put the nail in the coffin with letting Dan Loeb install Marissa Mayer as CEO, and her subsequent spending on more aging irrelevance, such as Katie Couric, as they paid themselves exorbitant salaries with free stock options galore. That same stock you had pay up to gamble on. The whole affair smells fishy, like the hypocrisy of Dan Loeb criticizing the Clinton marriage as a sham, and then being outed as a Ashley Madison client himself. Very suspicious person in this whole Yahoo debacle. Get these hedge funds people finally taxed, and taxed to hell, as they have a lot of free years to catch up on as the rest of us paid on our relatively piddly incomes.

ROTFLMAO. Bravo will ride this turkey down until he finally gets his buyout. At 10 or 15 or something after Marissa and the BOD have milked this once fat cow dry. Loeb is probably orchestrating it behind the scenes. Bravo continues to be the Yahoo choir boy singing its praises from the rear.

I haven't touched YHOO options in years, couldn't take any mote losses on CALL options, not PUTS. Finally got the "idiot sign"off my back . Some of us learn from our mistakes.

LMAO. Too late.for replacing the board. Hire some good lawyers and find a way to get money back frim the crooks. Might get 5 cents on the dollar ... even the people Madoff burned did better than that, and they were greedy bustards themselves in with Madoff because they thought he had gamed the system. I didn't feel sorry for any of them, but I do feel the pain of those who lost in Yahoo, truly believing in its assets and a comeback. I should know, I was one of them a few years back.

So much for your short squeeze you called yesterday. I'd bet you even that two-faced, forked-tongued snake Dan Loeb has a huge short position.

  • mrjojangles2 mrjojangles2 Feb 3, 2016 9:56 AM Flag

Sometimes I wonder if she was in cahoots with Dan Loeb, and even could be kicking money back to him. Might not even be illegal. Nothing these greedy Wall Street Heebs do surprises me anymore. Support a decent Republican, not Trump or Cruz (in bed with Goldman Sachs), or support Bernie Sanders, who proves that some of The Heebs actually have a heart and understand the struggles of the middle class, and that one should be rewarded for working at common jobs that make this country run, instead of the 1% who prey on the rest of us, like many hedge fund managers.

Bravo, if you don't cease the inane posts like this, and your constant predictions of an imminent Apple or Verizon or Comcast buyout, you will once again be referred to as Going Bozo. Really man, take your medicine, you blew it, just as this CEO and BOD have stolen so much from shareholders, including me a few years back. Worst stock market decision I ever made was getting in involved in YHOO, believing the buyout hype, and under-recognized BABA shares, and the best stock market move I ever made was manning up, recognizing this was trash, and getting out about 3 years ago, never looking back. Like having a cop with his flashers on in your rear view mirror, and then he passes you for whom he's truly checking out. What an f'in relief when I flushed my stake in this turkey and stopped buying options. So what if it eventually sells? It will be at Dollar Store prices.

It would be cruel to send employees to the guillotine on an empty stomach. Plus, she can probably sell the eyes and some other organs to finally take a new initiative for the first creative revenues under the Loeb/Mayer cabal.

Mabdo, you make very good points, that I sometimes forget. Why woukd MM care to facilitate the sale od her golden goose, that will lay no more golden eggs for her if it were sold? I still msintain that if and when it is sold, it will be for a lot less than some people expect. And only after she's been ousted. Imagine what she'll demand as severance pay, self-serving ! $! $! $? There goes half. Glad I abandoned this few years ago, and deeply regret I ever bought in.

Mayer can't have drinks, she's busy getting pregnant rather than doing a good job as CEO. Plus, all her spare time is spent cashing out YHOO options and collecting new stock for sale, and hanging out at Davos, pretending she's "somebody."

What a downer you are, Elmo. I'd bet nobody ever invites you a second time to a party. I personally believe YHOO could show a very nice gain today. If I were to get back in the markets, which I won't ... don't need the headaches and time wasted ... I'd probably be long YHOO finally rather than short, and certainly not worried about any imaginary "manipulators."

Sorry to say MB, have had some minor health and career problems of my own. Been stuck in Michigan and for a while in Chicago. Making plans to likely move soon to a warmer climate. Miami? St. Pete? Austin. I'd love to move back to California, but the cost of living has become insane. I'm getting older, and want out of the cold. Hotmodel is trying to forget sbout his Vikings loss to the Seahawks by freezing his jeans and propping them up on his front lawn in Minnesota.
