No Bravo, more likely is that they are a highly-overpaid bunch of lousy lawyers. Been saying all along to not get your hopes too high that Yahoo will get this "tax-free spinoff" done. And to the poster who says earnings don't matter, just Alibaba, I sincerely doubt you'd say earnings didn't matter if they were ever good, for a change.
Pebble, don't worry about it. I never cared about those thumb-suckers anyways. I suspect most of the thumbs down stuff is from Coldone's "Army" of ID's, more because of Hotmodel and I now having a cordial relationship for the last few years, which we certainly didn't have in the beginning, more than anything else. Or maybe it's also some other foe, but really, I don't waste 5 seconds wondering whom it could be. But I DO wonder about you ... maybe you had a different ID in the past, and I likely missed when you announced you were changing it. You don't seem to have any hidden agenda, but your posts seem similar to someone on here years ago. It's your business, and as you know, I've never speculated here about it. After a long hiatus of not reading the board, here you were, a seemingly well-respected and intelligent frequent poster!
Thanks Pebble, a little contentious back and forth can be fun, and even informative, but this was getting a little too weird, and a time waster ... glad it's over, for my part. Back to work. Best to you also!
That's funny Rufusregent, didn't realize you were still around ... enjoyed your posts a few years back when the board was really wild during the "Dan Loeb intervention" days! Pizza Hut and Pepsi as the key to optimism, who woulda thunk? Unfortunately, unbridled optimism is no formula for success.
I regret I got carried away with responding to your posts, it was getting to the cruel side, and I'm sorry for that. We surely don't really know each other or our true respective personalities, but I assure you I have never been short Yahoo, but like Hotmodel, I don't have any problems with anyone who does go short. And like him, I've been long and short the same stock at different times. I just wanted to point out here that there were more problems in this stock than just the core, aka Alibaba. That being said, at this level I'd be more inclined to be long than short, although China seems like a huge danger to all the markets.
Nevertheless, best to you and your investments, whatever you post, even dubious things like your buy at $14, I just don't want to respond anymore. I got out of the markets about 2-3 years ago, because i felt like I was a loser at a casino with no control over the cards and deal, and really not having the spare time, but still retain an interest, of course. But really man, lay off the Pizza Hut and Pepsi! Good luck and good health to you - MrJ
"Cooking of shorts?" Are we talking hot dogs or Bravo's attempted sperm bank donstion? Viagra, like Molly, csn fry that little thing of a brain or rosebud below the navel. Bravo, a cold shoer at the shelter might do you wonders. .
I did see some mention on CNBC recently of a Yahoo "celebrity" or entertainment magazine, or was it even a TV show? Not my thing, but no denying the popularity these days of this kind of magazine or site. Seemed liked a potentially profitable idea. Like you say, none of them on their own will move the needle on Yahoo profits and stock, but add a few up, and it could amount to something significant. Maybe.
Biotech parenting from Bravo? Sounds scary for any woman to see him at the sperm bank. So instead they'd probably show him a photo of MM in his cardboard box in downtown LA to help him "do his thing." Along with that whole jar of Viagra.
Am I missing something here? Yahoo Parenting? Sexy mothers breastfeeding on the cover gonna give the SI swimsuit Issue a run for the money? Yeah Baby ... Bravo's going to love this! Don't mean to offend, but don't care if I do ... milk is healthy ... better than Pepsi for young'uns.
Don't get too excited about the T'Wolves. I rarely gamble on sports, but think the Pistons are a great longshot bet for a potentially big payoff to win the NBA East, and even the NBA Championship. Not saying I really expect them to win over the Cavs or Golden State, or even the Bulls, but the.possibility with the odds are compelling, for a team that has good young talent, a good coach, and was set back by injuries ... might have to look closer loke at the Timberwolves too, after reading your post. Were certainly off the radar.
In MLB, you aren't the only surprise. Blue Jays fans were fired up when I was in Toronto. Seems like a good team, especially offensively.
Totti, Torii Hunter another loss for us, real team leader. We've got a good team, with Gose and Cespedes exciting additions, Iglesias healthy this year, and J.D. Martinez on a tear. But can it make up for losing Scherzer and Fister, and our generally poor relief staff, plus Verlander's arm possibly shot for good? Kinda doubt it.
If we don't win it, would love to see your Twinkies take to KC, Yankees, Cards, whomever!
I wish we could prove that Going Bozo, by his inane posts and ID conspiracy theories, was actually short YHOO, as by means of reverse psychology. Who could possibly buy into a stock that such a mindless cheerleader claims he holds ... like ... forever? And bought at 14 bucks? LOL
Hey Tottie, big 4-game series between Tigers and Twins starting today. Who would have thought, after the first couple weeks of the season, that you'd be up on us at this point. But honestly, with both Scherzer and Fister gone, and now Cabrera on the disabled list, I figured our good fortune couldn't last long. Honestly, care more about Lions vs Vikings.
Charles Bukowski, to my depraved mind, one of the greatest American writers of our generation. Loved and immensely resected in Europe, in fact, it was a German friend of mine who got me started reading him. Check him out ... one of a kind, maybe not for everyone, but for those of us who find the seedy side of life intetesting, and far from worthless, a great read and insight into life. Going Bozo one of his most famous protagonists.
I wish Charles Bukowski were still alive, would have loved to hang out with him at one of his favorite downtown LA bars. Stopped by one of them alone back in the late 80's, even for me, as a Detroiter, pretty scary clientele. Maybe we could have stopped by Going Bozo's cardboard box on Los Angeles St., and presented him with a Pizza Hut personal pizza and a Pepsi. Plus a plate of broccoli. Easy to find his homeless box ... big "YHOO till I die" sign on it, along with I 💟 Marissa Mayer.
I'm all for more Vietnamese restaurants offering delivery on Yahoo. Not many in Detroit, will get my next fix in Chicago. Take that, Yelp!
I dunno what's up with the characters, but would love a big bowl of Pho for lunch, while Bravo goes to Pizza Hut for the dessert buffet. Was just eating tasty Vietnamese food in Toronto.
Better than doing nothing, or something really stupid, yet again. ESPN and others gunning for Yahoo in the fantasy leagues, but only big money is in football.
Ride it all the way down, like a Cedar Point roller coaster to hell, courtesy of Jack Ma and Marissa Mayer at the controls, thanks to Dan Loeb.
Icing on the cake to go with your Pizza Hut and Pepsi, Bravo, you're going to end up in the ER and dialysis center before you even get to the looney bin? Trade your shares of YHOO for some biotech working on diabetes. The Going Bozo persona probably bought more BABA and China today. Really wondering here if world-wide depression triggered by China on the way. Why aren't gasoline prices going down? Seems that's rigged more than any other market or stock. Buying you some broccoli tomorrow.
