slav, my friend was a smoker for as long as I remember. I have the same position as you. I quit in 76. I know I have saved a ton of money not to mention wrecking my lungs. it's a nasty habit. expensive too.

I don't know anything about $1.65. and don't care. I do care about denny davis. only a fool and a low ilk person would call the passing of a "30 yrs plus middle manager" a "fake". u have no shame nor decency. denny made that company a helluva lot more than 1.65. how much did u make them? ever. ima pour salt on u and watch u melt.

a terrific man passed away last nite due to emphysema. he was a 30 yr man in management at "the cancer pit". as more and more of our fellow employees die from cancer and other carcinogenic laced exposure due to working for pcar it becomes more clear why they open and close factories from Tennessee to California to Missouri. the Tennessee site was a toxic dump site and sold before discovered. a lot of money was spent covering up pain, thinner., etc. being poured into the Nashville water supply via the sewer system at the hand of "management decision". I know. I was instructed to do so myself. then mark pigott closed the snake pit and ran before the news got out. HE IS A PIG. and one of the most hated men in Tennessee. good men go to their graves semi regularly that had any length of tenure at that cancer pit. they now operate in the most toxic location in America. (texas) the home of explosions, chemical dumps, etc. pcar has found a home with a criminal for a guvnuh hopin to run for prez out of the pen.

my history with pcar is over. from 89-09 when I was doing w/o a check I was also meeting requirements for drawing disability. (when one door closes another opens). there are laws and procedures to meet before one is ruled as qualified to begin receiving their benefits they prepay all their working life. "from 08-09 I was meeting mine." we "all" didn't know that . since 09 I have drawn somewhere between 200k and 300k retiremet and s.s. and I have live as a free man. "u" have no clue of that feling and I don't care:) "work, work, work" is all u have on your mind. it is the last thing on my mind. .........so all can't sing? this is news to you? .................you need to get out more. and yes, you are right. they can't. I can. I am welcome at several establishments in music city and known, thank you very much. wanna see me? get ready to spend some cash bum. that's how it looks from this side of the mountain where it's sunny and nice. have a nice day.

watch and see what happens. as stated phllips 66 the #4 producer in the usa sees the future. they are buying trucks, tankers and hiring drivers. I don't care how they do it but they do. they want to do it the way they ship the most in a 24 hr period. here is why u r mounting tires and others are selling trucks. u have no foresight and learned so little it ain't enough to be called small.

i'm no stock guy but I know a gold mine when I see it. since the keystone pipeline is stopped ( it was going to benefit Canadians basically) they now announce they are going to use the obvious to transport their product. the rails are going to put a stop to the volatile explosions in small town America. the solution: truck tanker. Phillips 66 the #4 refiner is already buying up trucks, tankers, and hiring drivers for their Oklahoma gig. as soon as texas comes out of the coma they live in they too will begin moving their product by 18 wheelers. I-35 will be to oil hi-way. class 8 builders are going to get a lot of orders and it will last. YOU CAN THANK OBAMA FOR VETOING THE PIPELINE and necessitating the movement by tanker. if I were a young man and didn't want to go to college and make money as soon as I got out of hi-school i'd get my cdl and begin wearing out tires running up and down the road and stuffin my saddlebags. and "I" would use a goo u.a.w. made vehicle made by "pro's" for the "pro's who drive'um". the oil strike in n.d. will bankroll several generations. watch it roll.

sick leave shall be accumulated at the rate of 12 hrs per quarter providing no loss of time exceeds 8 hrs during that quarter that is NOT earned sick time. .............that's Tennessee rules. I have no say or comment in anything that was none of my affair. and since it was entered into the agreement that discipline was on a progressive rate to be a written verbal, written warnin, suspension, termination, and was agreed to by the membership via contract ratification it assues no grievance/contention for "justifiable termination" of failure to work or repetitive tardiness. retraction shall be handled on a "quarterly without miss" basis in order to give the employee and the company the right to deal with life's unknown /unforeseeable situations.... that's the way it works for both sides , keeps down grievances, and lets the employee either hang himself or save himself. that seems fair to me and the company. .........(I authored that formula and language).

I tip my hat to you sir. u r correct in stating it was my world for 38 yrs. I am extremely glad u got off the road or any job that required 70 hrs labor to pay your bills. that is a shame and justifies the need for organized labor. u should have been paid o.t. at 1 1/2 the norm rate after 8 and double time after 10 hrs. on any day except weekends. that should be 1 1/2 for sat for the first 8 and 10 thereafter. triple time on sundays and holidays. it is your lifetime they are buying and it is worth a premium rate after the "norm" bearing in mind the work agreement states clearly "a normal work week will consist of five 8 hr days". it also states the union "agrees" with the company's BROAD RIGHT TO MANAGE. as u say sir, this was our world for 38 yrs. have a great week.

as I told many an employee when I was union rep for 5 yrs, if u won't come to work I can't help u. it's not a part time job. 70 hrs on the road is too many i.m.h.o. tired drivers kill as certain as guns in wrong hands. no offense intended but u really are naïve about real world work matters. :this: is not news to me. the peterbilt plant ushered in paid sick leave time. some never used it . others did. every year for those who did not use it they were given 125 % cash for coming to work. speculate all u wish. it is an excellent forum to show the difference in "must be" and "reality. I didn't "dislike" anybody. I saw the unappreciation of the youngsters. when u have a guy who has been involved for 7 yrs and he thinks it's a "long term", there is a clear message there to a 38 yr guy. I hhave been tellin u a "long time" your job hopping nevr let u get familiar with career minded people. u continue to illustrate my point. have a great day and enjoy your retirement.

i couldn't say. I do know if u don't work u don't get paid. my suspicion is that they are in other fields of occupation. like u, i'm glad things "wotked out" good for me. (of course, my take is "I earned it". I note you call yourself a "long term investor" with 7 yrs. my tenurewas 5 times that long plus 3 yrs. now we can decide which is "long term" and which is perceived" as long term. regardless, I am glad u lived long enuff to get out of there! and I am absolutely positive I am glad for me. if it gives u any peace of mind, those short termers you asked about had nothing to do with obtaining anything for anybody who was there at closing time. they were in there riding coattails and the company hated them. (they wouldn't work) . they came in makin good money and made more in 30 hrs than they were used to makin in 40 and simply would not come to work.

yep. he's the guy who retired me out at 59 as opposed 62 or 65. I think I have accrued around 200k or so since that move. he's the guy you stayed for burning up time u can't replace. chuck brought in the gold mine in 69 and pig stopped it on 6/20/08 and set the start date at 2/9 09 to begin drawing retro pay per the arbitrator. good of u 2 ask:) he's the same guy who smothered Europe with the wet blanket u commented on...

chuck retired in 96. the daf deal was cut in 96. little pig turned it loose in 98 when he locked out the Nashville plant. I was there. where were u?

  • mrmosebt1@bellsouth.net by mrmosebt1 Mar 8, 2015 12:38 PM Flag

when I was an employee before daf pcar had no European interest. Mercedes entered here with the purhase of freightliner. then came Volvo. MARK wanted his foot in the door . daf was wallowing. MARK bought daf. the company sent out several pix of the "new product" that mark procured. after that little pig was given some kind of title over there for buying his way into the club much like he gave bush 100k for a plaque. its too late to kiss up to the pig. he's yesterdays news. and he DID set foot in Europe well after chuck was gone. if I could buy u for what u r worth and sell u for what u think u r worth I might fire u and reopen Nashville to make some "real money". a guy who never made this company a dime (you) needs to sit back, shut up, and listen.
