I believe so too. The FDA will now be under both moral and political pressure for being blamed for unnecessary delay to license this life-saving drug for those suffering from deadly MF as well as AML and MDS cancers. Something must come out good from this ordeal while the WS dogs (including the MM) make their money through SP swings and build up institutional hold much greater than 50%.
Maine, I thought as you stated yesterday and before that you sold all your shares and that your and your wife's Asteria shares you had offered Anna for free!!
primarily on the buy side! It looks like institutions are accumulating after scaring away the weak holders and those who bought on margin!! What a trick by the WS rogues in cooperation of the MM(s) to help bring such drastic SP crashes to make fatter profits!! All on the backs of poor naive shareholders. What an immoral world we are living in!!!
Pad, the MotleyFools article to-day in Yahoo states that the Mayo trial also is on hold but, I am sure it;s not the MF trial which is not recruiting any more patients and must continue its work to the finish as ETW explains below.
Dave, I too know of a close physician friend who has been taking four Advil pills a day for I would say last 35 years or more. If I do that I would have dies of stomach ulcer!! He is alive and well despite his diabetes!! There is something to these limits that has been ignored and a lot of times it's rumors or (perhaps fake or half-true) data presented through the propaganda machines of competitors. And, believe me, there is a lot of such fraudulent attempts by rogue competitors using scientists to prove their point. It's a rough immoral world out there that does all these things to make money!! Eat and drink what is best for you!!
You are paying for your mistake AND greed, if all what you say is true! Forget the past and start all over again, now with more wisdom and a bit more confidence. And, by the way, talk openly to your wife and be a good husband. Let the chips fall where they belong and move ahead.
Yes, Black, your point is credible and well-taken. In my view, if he did not know that the FDA is going to halt the trials then, he was fooled by the four WS firms into issuing the offer well below the going SP. If he insisted on the offering price of even $5, instead of $4, he could have raised $25M more!! That money would have been more than enough to fight any such litigation! However, if he had prior knowledge or strong feeling about the FDA action, he failed to appropriately disclose to the shareholders! He failed either way!!
Thanks, Ryan!! You reminded me to go and visit the forum.
Last I visited the forum when I reviewed an article (critical of Geron and Imetelstat) by editor Zhen Senyak, who claimed in an e-mail in response to my very strong comment on the article that he "has had" MF! So, I quickly responded through an e-mail to him and asked him how did he recover from MF without use of Imetelstat when no other available drug is known to bring about any recovery!! That was three to four days back. He hasn't yet replied!!
Yes, IWS, the truth will ultimately prevail; but, in our modern-day society, it doesn't prevail if effective steps are not taken. And, hence, both Geron and Mayo need to take effective steps, and do that expeditiously so that the limited financial resources of Geron are not consumed in unnecessary delay caused by opposing lobby-driven forces.
Thanks, ETW. I will review and shape accordingly - not a big deal. However, the senator if he/she finds such a conflict will ask other fellow senator to do the job. I am sure that can be done. My point is that unless we, the public, become active, our democracy doesn't work effectively. And, we shouldn't hesitate to use our elected leaders for that goal. However, I am sure you can do a better job than myself in that respect!!
Your thoughts above are very logical and make a lot of sense. Thanks for posting.
One clarification I would like to make: Dosing requirement based on Tefferi's data may be good only for MF patients comparable to Tefferi's patients. Thus, a larger sample obtained through Geron's own Ph 2 multi-center MF trial will become a more credible basis for the production-stage labeling for use on MF patients. Note that different dosages for patients in different countries may be recommended. For other than MF patients, the dosing requirement may be based on other respective trials. Therefore, the FDA may not give approval to Imetelstat use for other than MF-patient use until credible respective data is presented. Based on the latest FDA inquiry, I am afraid that Imetelstat approval for other than MF patients may be a long drawn out process. I hope that doesn't happen and the FDA approves Imetelstat for all hematologic cancers with a condition on the label that the attending oncologist determines the appropriate actual dosage for his patient while remaining within specified limits with warnings for upper limits. The latter is possible if the FDA is not influenced by parties such as the Jakafi lobby and goes solely by the consideration of what is best for cancer patients. Of course, that will be hard to believe in our corporate-lobby manipulated society!!
I myself have been drafting a strong letter with credible data to a senior-rank powerful senator to begin an inquiry. I will also try to bring SEC's attention to the SP manipulation once again. But, in the past, I did not find any enthusiasm on this board and, hence, have decided to keep both private.
My point is unless at least several such complaints are filed, there won't be any action by either SEC or your Senator. It's worthless to show your erudition and anger on this board and not not take any such effective action that keeps the management or the FDA action in line. Such fruitless activity, I see, to be common on this board and is like, "a barking dog never bites". I see a lot of posters on this board act just like barking dogs.
Every time a large buy order or two or even several small buy orders raise the SP, someone comes and places a large sell order to drag the SP down!! This happens all day long and has been typical even when the SP was being lowered from $5 to $4.0 or thereabout before yesterday's collapse. Is it the MM or a hedge fund or both? Apparently, this thing has nothing to do with company fundamentals. It' appears to be just an opportunistic trading.
Anybody with any better and credible explanation? Thanks.
If that's true, why are they stopping all trials? Why cause a delay that may ultimately result in thousands all across the globe lose their hope to get the breakthrough drug before the cancer eats their lives? Just ask the siblings, children, close friends and living parents of dying patients how do they feel about the FDA's action!! For god's sake, please do not try to justify apparently corrupt FDA's incomprehensible inhumane action.
They are all looking for work and revenue. This country is full of dime-a-dozen law firms that do their business putting aside morals and ethics and make their living!!! End2War is just too nice a guy to see such people with an eye of admiration!!
