Just a hint from the Stock Trader in the SA article and, lo, they started running scared!! What will happen if the real Hold-lift comes?!! No question about these nuts running scared all the time!!!
End, your logic is understandable; but, what is not acceptable to me as a long-holding shareholder is Scarlett's and Geron management's lack of transparency. Scarlett at least has an obligation to place before us full facts for the hold (if everything Geron did is reasonable) and give an adequate explanation of what the company has been doing and what its plans are, all of that not in some wishywashy manner so that people like you have to extrapolate and read between the lines!! Only guilty minds use those tactics.
Trail, no question about the current Geron management's wise decision to let Mayo try Imelt. But the decision to try it for the MF patients can't be its decision, it must be Tefferi's!! Also, it's that management which apparently has failed to adequately monitor and record the LFT data for the ET-PV-MM patients, making the FDA to impose the complete hold.
And, please do not forget that it was Sacrlett and company that disposed off the stem-cell assets cheaply to BioTime and settle toe Viacyte case for nothing!! I can list two more misdeeds, or lack of foresight by the Scarlett and company; but, if you are in Geron for long enough time you must know what I am talking about. Finally, one thing that bothers me more is that Scarlett and company has reduced Geron to a company of ONLY one drug with nothing else in the pipe line and reduced it from an internationally well-known and respected outfit to such a tiny biotech!
The company has just 40-some employees, yet Scarlett thinks it is his right to deserve a 2.3M annual compensation!! And, if you are talking about highly compensated biotech executives, those are the ones who are founders in general and/or people who are heading companies with many drugs in the pipeline, not just one!! Scarlett must be ashamed of squeezing that much compensation who can not even claim any credit for developing Imetelstat, shrinking the company to a tiny one, and failing to adequately handle the LFT issue for the ET-PV-MM trials. In my view, his failures are of colossal nature and accomplishments not so. The higher SP that we have seen compared to what it was just a year back can't be credited to him; the credit must go to Tefferi and those who developed Imetelstat, not to him!! Do you agree?!!!
End, Scarlett announced during the last CC that the trial is not likely to begin before Jan 2015. I would say Spring 2015! I am not concerned about the current SP at all. The SP will keep fluctuating based on WS/hedge funds'/traders' manipulation and the monkeys will jump up and down to make a few pennies a share a day. I am not in that camp.
Taz, many prospective suffering patients of MF at those proposed MF trial multi-centers can be helped tremendously if the multi-center trial starts ASAP. This MF trial Ph 2 start shouldn't be affected by what happened to the ET-PV-MM trial patients, I do not think the FDA needs any more data than what Tefferi has already obtained and is getting. If the FDA needs more information, it can always get all it needs while this MF trial goes on during its Ph 2 and Ph 3 stages and until the license is granted. I am talking about Geron management taking up this issue (and not clarifying the LFT issue for for the ET-PV-MM trials. What is Scarlett doing about it? Doesn't he have an obligation to Geron shareholders and people like Irish and John to clearly explain what the company is doing in that regard? Please understand what I am trying to bring it up here. Thanks for your response.
You do not understand what I mean; And, for your information, I have been around much longer than you have been. so, just stop it here!!
I am not concerned about the current-share price drop affecting my investment because I am not a stupid trader like you may be!! I am in the stock for a long haul and am sure as hell that Imetelstat is a very valuable drug and I will see my return of investment. The question is what Scarlett has done w.r.t. the complete hold and has been doing now! while drawing $2.3M compensation! If you do not comprehend that, just keep quiet instead of exposing your stupidity!!
Thanks, Black, for drawing my attention to that Fighterpilot fact. I am just upset that Scarlett just doesn't keep us shareholders informed of what is going on while drawing his $2.3M compensation financed by us! He must know that all executives are accountable to shareholders and are not the absolute monarchs!!! Doesn't he have that sense?
I am talking about getting the FDA restriction lifted on beginning the Geron's multi-center MF trial, which was originally scheduled to start this Summer. And, remember, this will be a Ph 2 MF trial and the FDA will have a plenty of time and opportunity to get all the data it wants before Ph 3 is taken up and completed. There is no point in holding that trial if the Mayo data shows it is working for MF patients wonderfully, Can Scarlett and Geron management tell us if they have tried to explain that to the FDA to convince it to lift the hold on that trial? Why is Scarlett so quiet in that respect? And, if the Geron management is waiting till Mayo publishes its findings in Dec 2014 and hope that the FDA will accept that as a justification to let it begin its MF trial, what are Scarlett and the staff doing now until January 2015? Per Scarlett's announcement post-hold, the company has almost all plans ready to start the multi-center trial and, hence, apparently there is not much work for them to do anything substantial at present!! Then, what have they been doing now? Picking their nose sitting in the office?!!
Buddy, I am neither loosing money nor I ever believe I have a bad investment!! The question I have brought up is not that this share-price drop is bad or affect me; it's primarily that Scarlett hasn't spoken a word lately to shareholders as to what is taking this long if the company has already told the FDA that it has no interest in investigating any further the application of Imetelstat to cure ET-PV and that it's concentrating on just MF!! When his mouth is shut for this long to give us shareholders the real truth behind the hold and company's effort details, his credibility and huge compensation do become questionable. Mr. Pilot, I know and have read your posts occasionally on other Yahoo board so I know where you stand, how good your opinions are and how well-regarded you are!! But, this is the Geron board where you are just a novice and exhibit your total ignorance and if that's not so, your skewed views!!!
How long have you been following Geron? Do you really understand what I mean? Imetelstat is a breakthrough product that has proven to be the only drug that gets CRs and PRs for critical MF patients. If Tefferi can get to partial hold despite his well-known negative comments for Jakafi, what has Scarlett done to get to even a partial hold despite his hanky-panky with WS guys? Did he call you personally and gave you a secret word? You respond like you are his son-in-law!!!
You talk as if you are the sole wisest guy on the earth who knows everything!! Buddy, wake up and realize that you have tainted glasses in your eyes!!! If you can't comprehend what I mean, just be quiet!!
Scarlett and company's screw up? I wonder what all these guys have been doing for 4 months! Anything to do except picking nose? I will certainly like a job when I do not do any thing except screwing up, pick nose and yet get a $2.3M compensation!!! At $36M burn rate per year, we shareholders will have already thrown precious $12M in the gutter at end of 4 months!! Where are those Scarlett lovers? Can't they make their dear executive to do something deserving of $2.3M?
It's not the government; it's our ever-increasing greed for more and more money with less and less effort!! A greedy society simply institutes such a worthless government. Change the society and you will have a better government. Start at home first!!
