    Sienna Cancer Diagnostics

These new developments (Sienna's interest in the bladder- cancer diagnosis, IMET's hold lift, and potential new applications of IMET and its modifications for general applications to all cancers - all of these based on the telomere-telomerase concept) should make Geron a household name in the cancer arena and, hence, Geron's merger or acquisition by J&J should bring Geron shareholders decent return on their investment. This all started after Tefferi/Mayo came on board!! To get Tefferi/Mayo to do the MF trial, thus, was a landmark decision, isn't it?!

Ryan and Jack, both of you have excellent posts; Ryan's excellent summary and overview and Jack's informative post. Thanks to make coming to this board worth the time and help reduce vermin control the board. Please keep posting.

Those idiots at SA are too dumb to dive to the required depth!! So, I wouldn't give any importance to what those self-appointed semi-pandits say!!

  • mruyog mruyog Jan 18, 2015 3:30 PM Flag

It is not just money and hiring few scientists, it needs a lot of infrastructural help to handle al that work, including filing for licensing and communicating with the FDA guys for any such modified products and applications to various cancers!! It is a humongous task. If Geron was capable why in the world did it require Tefferi to even direct MF Ph 2?!!

Once IMET is licensed for MF, perhaps through FTD, furher modifications and applications of IMET will be intensified. That activity will need detailed and sophisticated studies. Also, in order to get IMET to global markets or fulfill global needs, setting up of manufacturing, distribution, technical support, and monitoring and further scientific studies, including those for multiapplications and modifications are the tasks neither current Geron staff nor its current management will be able to handle. Geron may not have any choice but to get merged with Janssen. All Mayo can do is to provide clinical experimental help. Tefferi may also join Janssen!! Of course, the current deal with J&J will release funding to Geron as certain milestones are reached as described in the deal document; but, that doesn't address Geron's capability of handling the tasks stated above. At least, I do not think so. Therefore, this company and its patents may become parts of Janssen sooner or later. And, that means, Scarllett and Huh will be given ta-ta, of curse, with some lucrative severance deals. These are just my thoughts and, I know, some vermin reading this post will ask me for presenting the "proof"!!!

Reading your explanation, Sd, I wonder if the scientific staff currently working at Geron is capable of weaving through this complications associated with the capability of IMET or its wider scope or not? This patent and your explanation throws me in a confusion about it. Perhaps Geron has retained such a scientist or two and that is a good news. My worry so far has been that Scarlett got rid of all capable staff members to cut costs. Perhaps not so. Also, with Janssen 's cooperation and its sea of expertise the process of exploiting IMET's multiapplication is picking up speed!!

Thanks for making this board worth keeping in touch.

  • I suspect the MF Ph 2 would be modified to allow a wider scope trial with a peep into potential mult-applications of IMET, if not for immediate clinical use then for data collection to jump later to other applications in addition to MDS and AML. This could be one of the reasons J&J got into it and is taking longer. Once IMET is approved fast for MF perhaps through FTD, the orphan-drug use and status will then have been facilitated. All this expansion and sophistication of the multi-use potential of IMET could not have been handled by the small cookie Geron and its incapable management. J&J involvement and Tefferi's/Mayo's direction were necessary. I suspect that J&J will say ta-ta to Huh and Scarlett and takeover or place their own guy to handle Geron sooner or later. My thoughts, of course!! Any comments?!! Please be relevant. Thanks.

What a primitive argument!! We are in 2015 and things are all different for the company than in 2005!! And profit? - What an idiot are you to talk about profits for a clinical-stage biotech as if this is a Sears-Roebuck!! People do not buy shares of such a company looking for profit history; it's ignorance to think in those terms for a company like Ocata which has yet to put a significant product on commercial line .And, if you do not think this is a good company to invest your money or even trade in and out, why are you so perpetually present on this board? Learn to be honest and do not make your living through lies, please!!!

Yes, the poster is misinforming and is apparently a hypocrite in claiming to be a savior. He conveniently forgets that on a sudden news development such as an announcement of a collaboration or Nasdaq listing, the SP will shoot high and many of those playing short-term in and out will be deprived of the big gain AND, importantly, the much lower tax rate for LT gain certainly makes it worth than ST gains for those who do not want to stick to their computers lime a gum and have other things to do!! It is all a matter of what you really are looking for and how you want to live your life. His advice may be good for vermin, not me!!!

So what do you think ???

OPEC just wants to stop oil-gas production through shale-extraction now making America more independent of Middleast oil. And, with America and India moving to self sufficiency energy-wise and manufacturing wise, China and the Middleeast are being adversely affected. So, they are trying to knock down American dominance. Idiots have no other tool but oil!!! Slashing down oil price through backhand increased production and flooding the oil market with Mideast oil is what America wanted all along but the idiots from Middleeast and China now are made to do what America wanted all along!! They also want to put a hold on the renewable energy activity; but the idiots do not see that the solar power now is on its way to produce cheaper energy than what the Middleeast oil was doing until now. The Arabs have finally come around. Thank God those Saudis won't have now enough money to finance those thousands and thousands of brainwashing madrassas all over the muslim countries that produce suicide bombers and terrorists.

We will see what happens to-morrow!! The theories of the past do not hold any more because the share trading is done through computerized programs by professionals, and MM manipulation to help his best customers is rampant. These guys know what those outdated old theories do and have learned to adjust their programs to beat those. So, the best strategy still is BUY LOW, SELL HIGH. You can do either on daily basis or weakly basis or longer as long as you are smart enough to judge when to get in and when to get out. I for one, will do neither and stick to my principle of finding the right sector then right company, take position at the right time at the right level and wait till the fruit is ripe. I do not have to deal with or bother about what the vermin do and enjoy worryfree life or engage in constructive life-activity every day!!

A lot of hedge funds may have invested in Geron to eventually cash in big returns. In the meantime, they are making gains trading in and out. They must be sure that with the J&J approval, the stock is a good place to bet their money. By the time big institutional investors get in, they are positioning themselves to reap the benefit. It's all the money-making operation through frequent trading in and out in safe stocks, no longer just long-term stable-investment. This is how the modern WS is geared.
