  • That is so obvious from the trading pattern now. All that 50 million shares are being sold right now.

Correction: All those shares had already been sold. What is being sold now is from the next batch to be issued. This is called death spiral financing

It was an inside job. Shorters got the word about the share issuance and the fact that they have a guaranteed cover long before the public knew. That is why the drop to to $1.30 before the news was so swift. There was no fear of a squeeze. I got taken for the loss between $1.60 and .98 like everyone else.

    Folks,
Here is the fact: the management of this company f####d everyone to get salaries for just a few more months. On the most heavily shorted stock on NYSE, they sold $1.00 stock to the shorters who had shorted it down from $5 or so just to raise a measly $21.5 million to pay each other for another few months. I, for one, was taken by them. Never thought they would be this stupid. Why not just max the revolver first? Not a single solitary share of what was issued a couple of days ago went to a legitimate long position. Every single share was either already sold or sold on the day. It was like: "O.K. go ahead short our stock, we will guarantee to give you the stock to cover at much lower price" The reason the whole thing stunk is that the company even managed the date so that the offering is priced at the lowest possible price for gold ( on a day that gold actually ran up $38 later in the day) and at 40% discount to boot.

  • This is one of the most heavily shorted stocks on NYSE. These shorters are currently sitting on rather hefty profits. However, they need sellers to be able to cover and book profits. When you see the nonsense posts on these boards trying to scare longs into selling at these ridiculous levels, keep that in mind.
