Try to find out what Leon Cooperman at Omega is doing...perhaps, 13-F filings, websites that focus on hedge fund investors (Insider Monkey). Meanwhile, I feel your pain...My strategy: Stick with stronger cap oil / gas companies for now...the storm / panic will eventually subside.

You're so right. The press release found on UTX's website was woefully inadequate. And, the longer UTX holds back from giving us a clear reason for the CEO's sudden departure, we'll be seeing the speculative comments (see below). "Mr. Market" has an intense dislike for uncertainty.

And, to think UTX is $100B market cap company and we're getting this type of (investor relations) treatment.

    Long term?

I wouldn't touch this stk with the proverbial 10-ft. poll. It's a serial disappointer.

Very complex business model with a management team that still hasn't gotten their act together. I've owned this company, studied it, believed in it and got shafted. Sold my position at a big $6.00 at a 70% loss.

I understand Einhorn (Greenlight) may hold a position. Check to see if he's still in it and good luck with your decision.

Thanks Joe for taking the time to respond. I sold my shares this morning @$29. I couldn't continue to watch the melt down. I was never keen on the business as a standalone and the market cap fell below my criteria of a minimum of $3B.

The market, in general, looks a bit rich but then again, I 've been feeling this way for close to a year. My near term strategy is to continue holding stocks that have market dominance, a margin of safety, paying a reasonable dividend and buying on 10%+dips. RYAM never fit any of my criteria.

Thanks again and good luck. RJ

    Stock Manipulation?

Appreciate the your comment and thoughts. Here's my situation.

I've been long AA in my IRA and have a breakeven price of $21 so I've been dwelling in the "house of pain" for years.

Unlike Dennis Gartman who recently disclosed on CNBC that he liquidated his long position in his retirement account, I have no choice but to continue to hold.

It's been quite frustrating to watch AA take one step forward and two steps back all these years. However, I believe in Kleinfeld's transformation strategy and AA's future for a whole host of reasons. But, trust me when I see the stock trading down like it is today for no apparent reason, it puts a pit in my stomach. Good luck with your position and thanks for letting me vent. RJ
